Quick Facts About Garcia's Barber Shop
Garcia's Barber Shop has been in business for over 30 years, which indicates that they have built a loyal customer base over the years. However, based on the comments provided by customers, there are several strengths and weaknesses of the place.
One strength mentioned by a customer is the skill of a younger woman who worked at the shop a year ago. She was praised for doing a great job, suggesting that the shop has had competent barbers in the past. This indicates that there is potential for quality haircuts at Garcia's Barber Shop.
Another strength of the shop is the atmosphere, as mentioned by a customer. The shop has a nostalgic, old-school vibe that appeals to some customers. There is a large TV showing the local news, which adds to the ambiance. This creates a unique experience for customers looking for a traditional barber shop setting.
The location of the barber shop is also mentioned as a strength. One customer appreciated that there is parking available around the back and a rear entrance. This convenience makes it easier for customers to access the shop, particularly during busy periods.
However, despite these strengths, there are several weaknesses that should be addressed by Garcia's Barber Shop. One recurring complaint is the decline in the quality of haircuts over the years. Some customers have been going to this shop for decades, but they have noticed a significant decline in the skill and attention to detail of the barbers. This inconsistency in the quality of service can be discouraging for customers who are looking for reliable and satisfactory haircuts.
The absence of the owner, Abel, is also mentioned as a weakness. Since his passing, his son Lawrence has taken over the business, but he is rarely present at the shop. This lack of oversight and management can contribute to a decline in the quality of haircutting. Customers value the attention and care provided by the owner, and his absence can affect their overall experience.
Another weakness highlighted by customers is the poor customer service. Some customers have found the staff to be unfriendly or rude. This lack of politeness can create a negative atmosphere for customers and may discourage them from returning. Good customer service is essential for building loyalty and attracting new customers, and it seems that Garcia's Barber Shop needs improvement in this area.
In summary, Garcia's Barber Shop has several strengths, including a loyal customer base, a skilled barber in the past, a nostalgic atmosphere, and convenient parking. However, there are also notable weaknesses, such as a decline in the quality of haircuts, the absence of the owner, and poor customer service. These weaknesses need to be addressed in order for the shop to maintain its reputation and attract new customers.

I've been going to this shop sporadically for 30 years. Used to be really good. My last cut here was horrific. I mean as bad as it gets. The older crew - i believe in this case the wife of another barber - zero skills. There was a younger woman here a year ago who did a great job - if she is still there she's excellent. Otherwise, avoid unless you want a military shave or military trim, which a monkey could do.
When I got home from a haircut today my wife said the back was all crooked, Sure enough it completely was. I wish I was able to post a photo as. proof. My hair was cut by a woman in the back room and I am going back to have it fixed.
I was a loyal customer of my Poinsettia Barber Shop for over 35 years but it closed so I gave this a shot. What a mistake! The hair cutter was laying down on the chair when I walked in then his wife was sitting on the other chair using her smart phone the entire time not even looking up. We asked for a refund and got it after a lousy cut and terrible service. Please recommend another barber.
I got a great hair cut ,beard trim , neck shave . The best like when my Dad took me to his Barber . I will be back !
Unfortunately since Abel the owner has passed away his son Lawrence is now running the business. He’s never there to see the operations and the quality and detail of haircutting had significantly declined.
I have been coming here since 1997 and my last 3 haircuts have been unsatisfactory. The main reason I went there was because of the detail and quality of service. The prices have gone up but the quality has gone down. The energy in there has just changed for the worst.
Worst 7 minute haircut of my life.
Not very friendly or polite at all. The hair cut was decent but the staff borders on rude
This is a real old school barber shop during the time of my visit there was about 4 Barber with a steady line of customers seems like there are a lot of regulars. There is a large TV that was showing the local news when I came in. the front of the shop to get pretty busy but there is parking around the back there also is a rear entrance it's right next to the Garcia restaurant
Great atmosphere (3 stars)... Unfortunately, the only barber worth waiting for (I presume is the owner) is the one on the far left end. The other barbers who share the two seats closest to the door (and yes, I have been several times over the past year, and have had several different barbers cut my hair) are more about getting your haircut over with and on to the next person waiting... absolutely no attention to detail. I have had to take out my own shears and razor to clean up what they left me with, and shave the strips of hair left on my neck. This is after telling the barber what I wanted and with which guard to use, etc. I overheard the owner say his shop, "is not like the new hipster barbershops, and this one is like the one your grandfather used to take you to". Agreed, the atmosphere is great but it would be nice if his employees actually worked like the barbers of the past. I no longer go here after giving this place several tries over the past 2 years... and am still looking for a barber that I would be happy with giving my money to on a regular basis for consistent good work.
