Quick Facts About Garden Patch

Garden Patch Place, a Southern restaurant located in Forest, Mississippi, has received several comments that highlight both its strengths and weaknesses. In order to evaluate the overall experience and quality of the establishment, it is important to consider these comments and analyze the common themes and recurring points.
Starting with the strengths, it is clear that Garden Patch Place has a reputation for serving delicious and authentic Southern cuisine. Multiple comments commend the restaurant for its down-home cooking, mentioning specific dishes such as fried chicken, mashed potatoes, roast beef, butter beans, and fried okra. The food is described as flavorful, juicy, and made with fresh ingredients. This indicates that the restaurant takes pride in its food preparation and aims to provide customers with a genuine Southern dining experience.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the friendly and attentive staff. Patrons appreciate the nice servers who assist them in filling their plates during the buffet service. The wait staff is also praised for their continuous refilling of tea, ensuring that customers have a pleasant dining experience. This emphasis on excellent customer service contributes to the overall positive atmosphere and enhances the dining experience for customers.
The value for money is another aspect that stands out. One comment mentions that the buffet lunch is reasonably priced at $11.50 before tax. This implies that Garden Patch Place offers a variety of dishes, including unlimited servings, at an affordable price point. This affordability is a significant advantage for customers who are looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.
Additionally, the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant are described positively. One customer mentions that Garden Patch Place has a quaint and homely feel, reminiscent of being right at home. This personal touch adds to the charm and appeal of the restaurant, making it an inviting place to dine.
Despite these strengths, a few weaknesses are identified in the comments. One major concern mentioned by a customer is the high cost of their meal. The individual was shocked by the $19 total, attributing it to an extra charge for the salad bar, which was deemed tiny and not enjoyable. This experience suggests that Garden Patch Place may need to reevaluate the pricing of certain items, especially if customers feel that they are not getting their money's worth.
Furthermore, while most comments praise the food at Garden Patch Place, one individual described it as only "okay". This suggests that the overall quality of the food might be inconsistent. It is important for the restaurant to ensure consistency in taste and quality in order to not disappoint customers who have certain expectations based on positive reviews.
In conclusion, Garden Patch Place has several strengths that make it a popular choice for lovers of Southern cuisine. The restaurant excels in providing authentic and delicious food, delivering excellent customer service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, it is important for the restaurant to address the concerns raised by customers regarding pricing and consistency. By addressing these weaknesses, Garden Patch Place can improve its overall reputation and attract more satisfied customers.

Best TL Reviews

I ate there yesterday and the food was okay. I was floored when they told me my total was 19 dollars. I got charged an extra 3 dollars for there so called salad bar, which was tiny and it did not taste good, I didn't even eat it. If I ever go back, it would only be for to go plates, which are apparently the less expensive route. I only got 1 plate of food. Overall definitely not worth the money.
If you like a good buffet with down-home Southern cooking, this is definitely the place to go! Friendly staff and plenty of great food. Leave some room for the bread pudding to make everything just right.
If you are ever passing through Forest during lunch time, be sure to give the Garden Patch a go. Expect down-home Southern food such as fried chicken (crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside), roast beef in brown gravy, mashed potatoes, butter beans, fried okra, etc. Be sure to get a bowl of their soup, it's delicious. Desserts are very good as well, with such Southern staples as peach cobbler and banana pudding.
The buffet used to be self service but, with the expected precautions, your plate is prepared for you as you go down the line letting the very nice servers know what you would like. It is all you can eat so, don't be shy... go back and get another piece of that fried chicken and some more turnip greens.
This is a great place for true southern food. The fried chicken was flavorful and juicy with a nice crunch and taste on the outside. Even better was the selection of vegetables, fried okra, stewed tomatoes with okra, field peas, collard greens, rutabaga and baby limas beans just like my Grandma used to make. They even had deserts but I was to full to try them. Everything was self serve but the tea which the waitress was constantly topping off. All this was only $11.50 before tax. You can't eat better anywhere.
Food always delicious and fresh
Garden Patch is a good hole in the wall non-franchise Southern restaurant. The food is authentic made with fresh ingredients. Everything is homemade and you can tell. Excellent all you can eat. The desserts are great. All in all this is a good place to stop and get your Soul food fix.

Wow, where do I begin. This restaurant had the feel of being right at home. My father suggested it and I agreed to visit the place with him. I was weary at first but let me tell you, all of my worries were digested rapidly haha. For a good meal and a home like feel one can't go wrong dining here.
