Quick Facts About Gourmet Family Restaurant
Gourmet Family Restaurant is a small diner that has been serving customers for over 50 years. According to the comments, the strengths of this restaurant include quick service, a full menu, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. Customers also appreciate the attention to detail in the food preparation, with the kitchen adding fine details and extra nuances to elevate the dishes above average diner food. The variety and quality of the dishes, such as the ciabatta sandwich with house chicken salad and the Cream of Carrot soup, receive positive reviews. In addition, the restaurant offers a wide range of options for breakfast, including 49 different omelette choices.
One strength that stands out is the family-like and relaxed atmosphere, where customers feel welcome and comfortable. The comment about the Seeburg Consolettes at each booth also suggests that the restaurant provides a nostalgic 1970s diner experience, which can be appealing to some customers.
Another strength of Gourmet Family Restaurant is its reasonable prices, particularly for breakfast. This makes it an attractive option for those looking for a good breakfast joint without breaking the bank.
However, there are also some weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One comment suggests that the exterior of the restaurant might give the impression of typical diner food prepared by a barely adequate cook. Though this assumption is proven wrong by the fine details and nuances added to the dishes. However, this initial perception could dissuade potential customers from trying out the restaurant.
Another weakness mentioned in the comments is the fact that the restaurant only accepts cash and does not accept cards. While an ATM is available on the premises, this could inconvenience some customers who do not have cash on hand and might prefer to pay with cards for convenience and security reasons.
In terms of the physical space, the restaurant is described as smaller and unassuming from the outside. While some customers enjoy the cozy spot, others might prefer a larger and more spacious dining area. This could limit the number of customers the restaurant can accommodate at any given time.
In summary, Gourmet Family Restaurant has several strengths, including quick service, a full menu, friendly staff, attention to detail in food preparation, a wide range of dish options, and a family-like atmosphere. The reasonable prices, particularly for breakfast, are also a positive aspect. However, there are also some weaknesses, including the initial perception of typical diner food and the inability to accept card payments. The small size of the restaurant may also be a drawback for some customers. Overall, the positive reviews outweigh the weaknesses, making Gourmet Family Restaurant a recommended dining option.

Great little diner to stop for breakfast. It was quick service and a full menu. I had the French toast and bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. Smaller place, but I enjoy a cozy spot, so I didn't mind. Staff were all very friendly, and everything came out quick. Would absolutely recommend and would go again.
Great dinner, been there for more than 50 years. I only know because I have been eating there for that long ????
Real home style atmosphere. Great service
From the unassuming exterior, one might assume that this small diner offers typical diner food; that is edible basics prepared by a barely adequate cook.
But you would be wrong. As the name suggests, the kitchen adds fine details and extra nuances to every dish to elevate it above average diner food.
I stopped in here for lunch after having read several positive reviews. The interior is quaint and cozy. My ciabatta sandwich with house chicken salad was perfect, from the warm toasted bread to the candied nuts. The coleslaw carried a spicy bite of onion and white pepper to balance the sweetness. The fries were decent for from frozen. My daughter raved about her tuna melt! The Cream of Carrot soup was nuanced and novel.
Service was friendly and quick.

The best diner you could go to, very friendly and welcoming staff. Doesn't matter what you order, everything on the menu is good. Added the menu since I couldn't find it elsewhere
Great local diner. Went for breakfast and was not disappointed! They have 49 different omlette options to choose from!

A true throwback to an early 1970s diner-type restaurant, right down to the Seeburg Consolettes at each booth. Food was good and portions generous. Service was good. Be aware - cash only, no cards. ATM available. Try the Rubin!
Great little place and very reasonable if your looking for a good breakfast joint!
