Ruhiger Park zum Laufen, Radfahren, oder um die Hunde auszuführen. Der Park zieht sich einige Kilometer von der Columbia Pike bis nach Alexandria.
Nice paved walking, biking, running path that follows Holmes run. Tree lined and somewhat natural looking. Columbia Pike entrance is very small, awkward to enter and has very limited parking.
Great park for walking and a little quiet time in the city! But be aware, it's in the city! Do not walk in this park after dusk unless you are in a group of 2 or more. Some very naive people have been victims of robbery and assault here!
This is a great place to go for a hike if you are looking for some nature off of Columbia Pike near Bailey's Crossroads. I love this creek and the trail is paved so it is an easy hike and you could ride your bike on it too.
Such a fun place to discover - I've been looking for a spillway ever since moving to this area and then just stumbled upon it! Nice paved path, not too challenging for little ones but you'll have to carry them (and any small dogs like ours) across the water crossings. New favorite "getaway" in the middle of the suburbs.
Best hidden gem in the area, nice little nature getaway
Beautiful Oasis of green in the area. Love coming here with our dog who loves the stream. Sometimes more people around than ideal but that's probably unavoidable. Note the stream crosses the trail 5 times and there are stepping stones but not good for stollers or bikers
It's unfortunate that the parks closest to the city are becoming more and more polluted because of the areas growth and spiking population. This was my second home, as a little kid, way before the internet even knew how to fart. It used to be a secluded secret fishing spot for large mouth bass, perch and trout. It was quiet, safe and a great place for the city kids to learn more about our environment. Our generation of kids, which was the original melting pot of multiculturalism, were all into fishing, hiking, swimming and other outdoor activities at the park. As the city has grown over the past 25 years, this little park had been neglected until about 14-16 years ago. There have been some cosmetic changes and there clean up attempts every summer but it still filthy. People still hang out here but it seems for the wrong reasons now. It doesn't seem safe, there has been a lot of violence, drug use, drinking, trash ever where, people look strung out by the creek, not fishing but hanging out. It is what it is but if your looking for a nice fishing spot, you might want to travel further south or west.
