Quick Facts About Island Nail Spa

Island Nail Spa has a mix of strengths and weaknesses, as indicated by the comments above. Let's analyze them in detail.
Starting with the strengths, multiple comments praise the quality of the nail technicians' work. One commenter mentions being satisfied with all of the technicians, which indicates consistent performance across the salon. This is a significant strength as customers value skilled professionals who can deliver good results. Another positive aspect highlighted by a customer is the range of designs and services available. They mention that they had high expectations from their previous nail technician in Virginia, and even though they didn't find the same level of creativity at Island Nail Spa, they were still satisfied with the overall job done. This suggests that Island Nail Spa offers a variety of options to cater to different customer preferences.
Additionally, a positive comment reflects on the convenience of the salon. The loyal following of regular customers and the availability of being open seven days a week make it accessible for customers who may have busy schedules or who prefer the flexibility to drop in when it suits them. Convenience can play a significant role in attracting and retaining customers in the nail salon industry.
Now, let's move on to the weaknesses expressed in the comments. One customer was disappointed with the lack of greeting upon arrival. This may indicate a lack of customer service training or a need to improve in terms of welcoming and acknowledging customers when they enter the salon. First impressions are crucial, and a lack of initial engagement can negatively impact the customer experience.
Another major complaint is poor customer service. Multiple comments mention rude behavior from the owner or employees, highlighting dismissive and disrespectful attitudes towards customers. This is a significant weakness as excellent customer service is a cornerstone of any successful business, particularly in the service industry. The negative comments might discourage potential customers from choosing Island Nail Spa due to concerns about the overall treatment they might receive.
Furthermore, the lack of attention to detail and rushed services mentioned in some comments suggests that the salon may prioritize quantity over quality. This is evident in the customer's complaint about a rush job on their acrylic full set, resulting in a poor outcome that they had to redo themselves. In the nail salon industry, attention to detail is essential to meet customer expectations and deliver satisfactory results.
Hygiene and cleanliness are also pointed out as weaknesses by customers. One commenter mentions the salon's bad odor and the absence of liners in the pedicure bowls. These factors contribute to a negative perception of the salon's cleanliness, which is crucial in maintaining customer trust and attracting new customers.
Lastly, a customer expressed concern about potential racial discrimination, claiming that they felt mistreated compared to other customers. This raises serious ethical concerns and points to a need for diversity and inclusion training within the salon, as well as a commitment to fair treatment for all customers.
In summary, Island Nail Spa has some strengths in terms of the quality of their technicians' work, the range of designs available, and their convenience in terms of hours of operation. However, they also face significant weaknesses related to customer service, hygiene, attention to detail, and potential discrimination. Addressing these weaknesses and building upon their strengths will be essential for Island Nail Spa to improve its reputation and attract and retain customers.

I’ve been to all the techs there that does nails and I’ve been satisfied with ALL of them. Leaving VA & my tech was hard because I knew what he was capable of with designs etc. so I was just looking for someone that would just do a good job & no expectation with designs. I’ve tried a couple nail salons around & I will stick with Island nails.
I went in last night to get an acrylic full set. When I first got there I wasn't greeted which I wasn't too mad about since each employee was busy working. I've only been there before to get SNS about a year ago so I wasn't too familiar with their process and this was only my second time getting acrylics so a lot is still new to me. About 5 minutes later one of the employees walks up to me to see what I wanted done and when I tell her she hands me a book of nail colors and takes away the polish I'd already picked out. Little did I know she handed me the gel colors. This, along with the rush job my nail tech did caused me to completely paint over my nails once I got home. I can honestly say that the work I did was 100% better than what I received at he shop, which is sad because I've never done my nails before. Of course, the color choice was on me but looking at my nails it was very obvious she rushed through and was just trying to get me out since I was the last one there.
If I could rate this spa a 0.00 , i would. The owner was absolutely rude to me. I have never experienced this level of customer service from any spa. She denied me service (soak off) due the nails being thick. The boiling point for me was to tell me to go back to my nail shop that put the nails on. I am new to areas since I just bought a home so I searching for a nail spa. At island nail , the owner was not patient and she got up from her chair and dismissed me. She told me she would not soak them off because it would take 4 hours. I would not recommend anyone go here. I should’ve never went here with their rating being extremely low. I didn’t even get a greeting coming into the building.
If you are looking for a High rating nail spa, visit CB Nail! They welcomed me and soaked my nails along with filing them. It literally took 15 minutes to have the nail to come off. From expertise , CB NAIL informed me my thick nails cannot be popped off because it would damage my nails. They stated you only pop off thin nails. The work that was needed involved soaking and filing them. ISLAND NAIL SPA WAS DOING THE OPPOSITE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GOING THERE.
Alina/Lana at booth 5 provided exceptional service for me. I would return
I can't believe I paid for such poor service. The salon has a bad odor and they do not use liners for their pedicure bowls. My nails were cut too low and was painful. I chose the Deluxe package which cost an extra $10 and all she did was burn me with the "hot towel service". My nails were not buffed before polishing and I was left with indentions in my nails. Please see picture. Avoid this place! They already changed their name once before but they still have terrible service.
I've been coming to this location for pedicures for years. The owners have built a solid following of regular customers. They are open 7 days a week. The majority of customers are walk-in customers who are looking for straightforward, quality work and the convenience of walking in when it fits their schedule.
I honestly feel like I was ripped off!!! I have been here a few times, which have been so so experiences but I thought I’d give them another try because they can usually get you in pretty fast. There was hardly anyone here, so being busy, definitely isn’t the excuse for my complaint. My daughter and I went to this nail salon to get pedicures and the older man who did both of our pedicures really did not put forth any effort in providing what I call “good service”. He barely filed our nails after cutting them down. He made it look like he was trimming our cuticles, but literally ran it across the cuticle, barely touching them. He used the cheese grater, barely removing the dead skin. Literally, he did both of our pedis in a matter of maybe 30 mins. Another lady had to come and paint our nails but what happened to dedicated service? I’m paying for a service and I don’t feel like I received what I paid for. Never did they ask which pedi I wanted. I usually get one of the deluxe pedis, and don’t mind paying for them because the massage is one of my favorite aspects of the pedi. I will not give this business my money, EVER AGAIN!! I work too hard for my money, to be ripped off.
I came in and asked for a manicure. First of all I wasn’t greeted then the service wasn’t done correctly. I asked for a deluxe package which I was given the basic he didn’t clean my cuticles I asked why he got up and another lady finished it off with coating but here’s the issue we as in black women support a lot of these people business who steady mistreat us and when the white woman walks in she’s greeted and served with the most high customer service I’m so done with supporting these type of disrespectful people who talk to us with rudeness never in my life have I ever thought I would come across the most disrespectful people like them it’s bad enough we get it from whites and we steady give them our hard earned money this have to stop everyone of my friends and I will never return back again.
