Quick Facts About Kim's Nail Salon

Kim's Nail Salon has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. It is important to note that opinions may vary and these comments represent the experiences of individual customers.
One strength of Kim's Nail Salon is its beautiful and large interior, which creates a visually appealing environment for customers. The salon offers a variety of pretty colors for acrylic nails, providing customers with numerous options for their desired look.
Additionally, the salon has a loyal base of long-term customers, as evidenced by the comment from someone who has been going to Kim's for over 30 years. This demonstrates that some customers have had positive experiences and continue to choose this salon despite any negative feedback.
Another strength mentioned in the comments is the politeness of the owner or manager. This can contribute to creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for customers.
However, there are several weaknesses that have been highlighted by the comments. One common complaint is the poor quality of the nail services provided. Customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the durability and longevity of their nails. Complaints about nails breaking easily and gel polish coming off after a short period of time indicate that the quality may be subpar.
Another weakness is the pricing of the services. Several customers mentioned feeling overcharged for the quality of their nails. Specifically, one customer paid a significant amount for gel acrylic nails but found them to be thin and easily breakable, which they felt was not worth the price. This suggests that the salon may not provide good value for the money spent.
In terms of customer service, there are also areas for improvement. Some customers reported feeling rushed during their appointments and receiving careless treatment. One customer mentioned that their cuticles were filed instead of being softened or trimmed, leading to a cut on their finger. This indicates a lack of attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
Furthermore, the salon's policy of not accepting appointments on Fridays or Saturdays, and only offering walk-ins on a first-come, first-serve basis, has received criticism. One customer mentioned feeling disappointed that they couldn't schedule an appointment for their sister's birthday, and then experienced a long wait time when they did visit the salon. The inconsistent application of the first-come, first-serve policy and the perceived lack of respect for customers' time may deter potential patrons.
Lastly, language barriers and miscommunication have been mentioned as a weakness in customer service. One customer expressed frustration due to the technician's inability to understand their request for a specific design, leading to a disappointing outcome. Clear communication with customers is important to ensure their satisfaction.
In conclusion, while Kim's Nail Salon has some strengths such as its visually appealing interior and a loyal customer base, there are several weaknesses that need to be addressed. These weaknesses include poor nail quality, high prices for subpar services, rushed and careless treatment, inconsistent policies, and language barriers. Improving these aspects of the business could enhance the overall customer experience and attract more clientele.

Nails took 2 and a half hours… price was fair but then 2 days ago at the 2 and a half week mark the “Gel nail polish” I paid for just came right off my nail… (got my nails done by Kim herself) soo uhh yeah just skip this place all together
the salon may be beautiful and large on the inside and they have a bunch of pretty colors for acrylic nails (gel). But if you want to get your nails done as acrylic tips in gel color or regular color. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GO HERE!. they over charge you like crazy a whole $58. for gel acrylic. and worst of all its not at all worth the price. The nails were super thin and broke so easily, specifially BROKE while i was scratching my head. crazy and a complete waste of money. broke after a week. the owner was polite was definately overcharged for low quality and on top of that I had to ask them after that to file down my nails to my liking because initially they were very bubbly around the edges.
This is our favorite nail salon and normally the service is fantastic. We were able to get in right away which was great but the person who did my mani/pedi was rushed and the lady did not do a careful job. She filed my cuticles not softened them or trim them. The file cut my finger.
My sister brought me to this nail salon because she wanted a manicure and pedicure for her birthday gift. I asked her to pick the place because I am not very familiar with her neighborhood.
She selected this salon after reading various reviews on Yelp.
I called in advance and asked if I could schedule an appointment for her. I was told by the receptionist that they don't make appointments for Fridays or Saturday. I was told that on these days they only service walk ins on a first come first serve basis. Personally I wanted to take her somewhere that was a little nicer and would at least give her an appointment. But it was her birthday gift so I didn't insist.
When we arrived at the salon on a Saturday afternoon about 12:30p we were greeted immediately. Of course every chair was filled so we sat down and waited for over an hour. When she was finally called she was directed to a pedicure chair and told to wait some more. However, the people who were called after her were being served while my sister was told to wait. What happened to first come first serve??
We ended up walking out because we both agreed that what they did was very disrespectful and plain rude. How do you allow people that walked in after to be serviced first?
We walked to a nail salon on the next block and was serviced immediately.
When servicing a new customer, you should use your most talented staff member so the customer will come back to your business !!!. People don't seem to understand that and this place is no exception. Long story short, overpriced mediocre nails. Wrong types of tips applied due to language barrier on technicians part and was not given the design I asked for. I'd much rather you tell me you can't do something instead of freestyling. $57.00 for new tips and pedicure. Will not be returning to this place. why 2 stars you ask ?. The managers was nice and they give a mini massage with warm towel while your at the nail dryer.
Btw. They started lifting at the base 2 days later... smh
They close at 7:30 they refused to service me when I walked in at 6:50. Saying they closed soon. The owner wasn’t there and the women that work there started to speak in Spanish about me. Then not knowing that I speak and understand Spanish. It’s shame cause this was my first time there and only went because I was gifted a certificate from there.
Guess they won’t get my money. Wendy was the person I spoke with.
I have been going to Kim's for over 30 years. I now to the far end of Suffolk and still travel for over an hour to get my pedicure done. They are just the BEST.
Staff is nice. Nails came out ok
