Starting with the strengths, one customer mentions that the service at Kowloon Chinese Restaurant is amazing, describing the servers as friendly and funny. This indicates that the staff is attentive and creates a pleasant dining experience for customers. Another comment highlights the restaurant as a local gem, indicating that it is well-regarded within the community.
Furthermore, customers praise the food at Kowloon Chinese Restaurant, indicating that it is delicious. One comment specifically recommends the restaurant, expressing surprise at finding such tasty Chinese cuisine in the Palm Springs area. Another patron mentions that the hot and sour soup is the best they have had, even comparing it to popular cities like Los Angeles and New York. These positive reviews suggest that Kowloon Chinese Restaurant offers high-quality and flavorful dishes.
In addition to taste, customers appreciate the portion sizes at Kowloon Chinese Restaurant. One customer mentions that the servings are overly huge, noting that they were unable to finish their meal and had to give the leftovers away. Another customer comments that the food falls off the plate because there is so much of it, further emphasizing the generous portion sizes. This aspect can be seen as a strength for those who enjoy getting a lot of food for their money or prefer having leftovers for future meals.
Moving on to the weaknesses, some customers mention that Kowloon Chinese Restaurant lacks flavor in their dishes. One comment complains about the food being bland and tasteless, while another accuses the restaurant of having no flavor at all. These criticisms suggest that the restaurant may need to improve its seasoning and flavor profiles to meet customer expectations.
Additionally, cleanliness seems to be another weakness mentioned by a customer. They describe the place as dirty and disgusting, going as far as stating that there were food pieces in their cups. This raises concerns about the restaurant's hygiene standards and cleanliness practices, which could impact the overall dining experience for customers.
There are also comments regarding specific dishes. One customer mentions that the Singapore noodles they ordered were not up to par, describing them as salty and greasy. However, they do highlight the roasted white peppers as the best item they ordered, indicating that there may be inconsistencies in the food quality across the menu.
Another criticism that emerges is the lack of meat in the dishes. A customer mentions that there is significantly less meat and more vegetables, possibly due to the higher cost of beef and chicken. This may disappoint customers who expect a balanced ratio of meat and vegetables in their Chinese dishes.
In conclusion, Kowloon Chinese Restaurant has its strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. While customers praise the friendly service, large portion sizes, and some delicious dishes, there are concerns about the lack of flavor in certain items and the cleanliness of the establishment. 量大味道好!没想到棕榈泉还有这么好吃的中餐,强力推荐
The food was good but it was too much. The servings were OVERLY HUGE!!! I ended up giving my food away. I had vegetarian fried rice and lo mein.
When you order food and eat there... it so much it falling off the plate....you can try to eat half of it and then get a box to go and it will fill that box up also... like 2 meals for the price of one....best Hong Kong style hot and sour soup... I cant even find this is la and in NYC it would be over $20
Great food, the only reason I give it 3 stars is that the amount of meat in the dishes is significantly less. Now it's mostly vegetables, probably due to the higher cost of beef and chicken these days. I guess that's the 'new normal ' everywhere now, but it's disappointing.
With the exception of a few edible items, don’t bother wasting your money here (I ordered the Singapore noodles). The food quality isn’t the best, majority of it was covered in grease and believe it or not, it was all salty and/or bland. The best thing I ordered would have to be the roasted white peppers.
