One of the strengths mentioned by multiple reviewers is the cleanliness of the motel. It is described as "super clean" and "nice and clean." This is an important factor for many travelers, as cleanliness can greatly impact the overall experience of a stay.
Another strength is the host, Wanda. She is praised as an excellent and friendly host. Reviewers mention her kindness, helpfulness, and ability to provide recommendations for restaurants and attractions in the area. This personal touch can greatly enhance the guest experience and make them feel welcomed and valued.
The motel's location is also highlighted as a strength. It is mentioned as being a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Healdsburg, which is convenient for guests who want to explore the area without needing to drive. Additionally, it is mentioned as being close to the beach, which can be a bonus for guests who want to enjoy some outdoor activities.
The dog-friendly policy of the motel is also seen as a positive aspect. Reviewers appreciate that there is no pet fee, unlike other hotels in the area. This can be a significant advantage for pet owners who want to travel with their furry companions without incurring additional costs.
The motel's grounds are praised as being lovely and beautiful in the summer. The owner is described as an avid gardener, which adds to the overall aesthetic appeal of the property. This can create a pleasant and relaxing environment for guests.
The complimentary continental breakfast is mentioned as a positive aspect, with specific praise for the delicious scones served in the morning. Having a breakfast option available can save guests time and money and provide a convenient start to their day.
However, there are also a few weaknesses noted by reviewers. One reviewer states that the room they stayed in was "tired" and showed signs of age with no charm. Another reviewer also mentions that the room they stayed in was nicely remodeled, but felt that the marketing of the motel was too hyped and did not live up to their expectations.
The internet is also mentioned as a weakness. One guest experienced issues with the internet connection, stating that although the signal was strong, there was no data throughput. This can be frustrating for guests who rely on a reliable internet connection for work or leisure purposes.
Additionally, the motel's location at the very southern end of the main drag and close to the highway is mentioned as a downside. It is noted that it is a solid 15-minute walk to the town's main square, which might be inconvenient for some guests.
Overall, L & M Motel place has several strengths, including cleanliness, excellent host, dog-friendly policy, convenient location, lovely grounds in the summer, and complimentary breakfast. However, some reviewers have mentioned weaknesses such as tired accommodations, internet issues, and the motel's location being far from the town's main square.

Once you get the past the initial Bates Motel vibe (????????) —-you will realize that why this truly is one of the best kept secret in Healdsburg.Nothing fancy but it ticks all the necessary boxes——super clean, excellent host (Wanda❤️) and a 10-15 min walk to downtown.
❤️Dog friendly (no pet fee like other hotels in the area!)
????highly recommend
Love it! Wonderful motel,10 minutes from downtown, 5 to the beach. Beautiful rooms and grounds, had the pool and spa to ourselves all weekend. The owner is delightful and super helpful with recommendations. Also the scones and coffee in the morning are nice. A favorite for many years,we will be back!
I'm on a 5 day wine country bike ride and stumbled upon this wonderful family owned motel with a jacuzzi and cozy rooms. The proprietor, Wanda is outgoing, full of information and she bakes the best blueberry scones for guests!
This is our second visit to this little motel and I regret to say I was really disappointed this time. We had a great visit a few years ago but for $125 plus tax we should have stayed next door at the chain motel. The room we had was TIRED and showing all of its age with no charm.
Internet was very dodgy at best. You can easily get on the network and the signal is strong but no data through put for some reason. We are here in February and the place is empty to it cannot be because the bandwidth is being overloaded.
I love the owner; she is so friendly and accommodating it almost hurts to write this negative review but facts are facts and I suggest you come here with the expectation that you will be staying in a lovely property with tired accommodation.
Also, be aware the hotel is at the very southern end of the main drag and quite close to the highway. It is a solid 15 minute walk to the town's main square so wear comfy shoes.
the owner is an avid gardener and the grounds are lovely in the summer which is when we were here last. Understandably the winter months will have the grounds looking less luscious which is a real shame.
We really hope the owner decides to do some upgrades and fixes the internet. Pretty basic stuff really.
Nice, clean, dog-friendly motel run by a family. Hidden gem in Healdsburg especially when you consider the price of other accommodations. It's walking distance (about 10 mins) to the plaza, though with the construction on the main street, it's a little odd to navigate right now. Continental breakfast is complimentary including some of the most delicious scones ever! The lady who runs this place is very kind, personable and will give out recommendations for restaurants etc if you need them .
We absolutely LOVED this hotel! Such a cute place, everything is clean, the rooms are super cute and Wanda the owner was fabulous. She gave us great recommendations of places to go and try and we had a blast. The hotel is just a few blocks from downtown Healdsburg which is really no big deal. --we enjoy walking! A lot of good wineries in the area as well!
We loved this homey, warm hotel! Extra love for the fresh baked scones in the morning AND the amazing pool area! Hot tub, heated pool and sauna! We loved that it's a family owned spot, super close to Healdsburg shops and restaurants.
It's fine. The room was nicely remodeled and the morning breakfast was good although if more people had been there (we were it) we would have to have carried the food back to the room because the space where the breakfast is served is small and with only 2 chairs. The staff is friendly but I feel the marketing on the place is too hyped - like a really hipster-cool old-school motel that you will love. Like I said, it was OK but the price is high (although I guess not compared to all other over-priced places in Healdsburg).
