Quick Facts About La Durbin Boutique Salon
La Durbin Boutique Salon has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Strengths:
1. Friendly and thorough staff: The hairdresser, Lucy, was praised for her friendliness and thoroughness. She took her time to ensure the customer received the desired look and showed them photos of similar hair colors she had done on other clients. This indicates that the staff at La Durbin Boutique Salon are attentive and dedicated to providing a satisfying experience for their customers.
2. Good listener: Lucy was commended for being a fantastic listener and understanding the customer's preferences. This is an important quality in a hairdresser as it allows them to create a hairstyle that aligns with the customer's vision.
3. Flexible pricing: The salon offered to provide the same price for the same service in the future, which was appreciated by the customer. This demonstrates the salon's commitment to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Weaknesses:
1. Difficulty in booking appointments: Several customers mentioned that it was challenging to book appointments at La Durbin Boutique Salon. Some experienced unanswered phone calls, while others had to make multiple attempts to secure a date. This can be frustrating for customers and potentially deter them from returning to the salon.
2. Inconsistency in service quality: One customer had a negative experience with a shellac manicure, stating that their nails looked worse after the treatment. This indicates a lack of consistency in the quality of service provided by the staff at La Durbin Boutique Salon.
3. Inexperienced staff: Another customer mentioned receiving a poor pedicure and manicure, and felt that the young girl performing the services seemed inexperienced. This suggests a potential lack of training or supervision within the salon.
4. Communication issues: Several customers mentioned difficulties in communicating with the salon staff. Some experienced unanswered calls, while another customer was not provided with a clear explanation for the salon's closure on their scheduled appointment date. These communication issues can lead to frustration and a negative customer experience.
5. Lack of professionalism: A long-term customer expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of professionalism exhibited by the salon's employees. They cited instances of impolite behavior, inattentiveness, and unhelpfulness. This indicates a potential issue with the salon's staff training and management.
In conclusion, La Durbin Boutique Salon has some strengths such as friendly staff, attention to detail, and flexible pricing. However, there are also notable weaknesses in terms of difficulties in booking appointments, inconsistencies in service quality, inexperienced staff, and communication issues. Addressing these weaknesses could improve the overall customer experience and reputation of the salon.

Purchased a voucher from Groupon for half head of highlights, cut and blow dry (£49) and added toner (£20). My hairdresser - Lucy was lovely and friendly and thorough. She took her time which was nice as other salons rush you and you don't always get the same person throughout. She was a fantastic listener, knew the look that I wanted when we talked it through and showed me some photos of other similar hair colours that she had done on other clients. It came out a little light so she happily toned it down a bit more. Took time to dry and curl my hair and wasn't rushed. Would definitely recommend and come back again. They also said they would offer the same price for the same service in the future which is fab!
I bought a Groupon voucher for shellac manicure. Big mistake.
First of all, it's almost impossible to book as they never answer the phone.
Second of all, my nails looked worse after the manicure than before. I just wanted something simple and natural but the end result was very far. The lady was nice but that did not compensate for the poor quality.
I received a groupon voucher for my birthday. I managed to book my appointment by phone after many attempts. However what I received was definitely not a pedicure, there wasn't any water used in this pedicure and as for my manicure I could have painted my own nails better. Even the choices of nail colour were very limited and looked like what they did have was nearly finished. My nails look really bad considering it took over an hour to paint them. The young girl was very pleasant however she seemed very inexperienced. In the time I was there the phone rang over 20 times and was only answered twice but another girl. I would not recommend this place or be returning.
I’ve ordered voucher via Groupon then called them to make the appointment on Sunday, they confirmed it. This morning, I called them again as I will arrived a bit slightly late but no responding. Once I’ve arrived at the salon, no staffs apart lovely girl doing nails who did sign language which made my day. So I’ve waited for an hour then decided to read these negative feedback I’ve decided to leave the salon, I don’t want a bad experience with waxing over there. I’ve asked for refund on groupon.
Terrible experience! I paid for a Groupon voucher to get my lashes done for an event. I travelled 2 hours to make my confirmed 11am appointment, however the beautician decided not to show up that day and I waited outside the closed salon for 1hr 20 mins (in rain and 2 degrees). I had to pay somewhere else last minute because they wouldn't fit me in their schedule despite their screw up. But looking at past reviews this beautician doesn't sound very good anyway. May have been a good thing she decided not to get out of bed that day.
I am writing because, after having been a client for over 3 years I have decided I am never going to come back to this salon anymore due to the lack of professionality of employees, which is, without a doubt; outrageous.
I have always requested Rosie to do my wax and my nails, her being a wonderful beautician, and also kind and attentive to detail. The salon management was not great back then, but at least, she offered a great service.
Since she left I stopped having my wax done but I kept doing my nails. Eleonora was also great at nails. But she also left.
Last time I went to the salon I had the worse service I have ever had in my entire life performed by a new beautician whose name I do not know as she did not even introduce herself. Let me start from the beginning:
I arrived at the salon and she called me, did not ask me to sit down or anything, just sat down and kept in silence for the whole 2 hours and 40 minutes that took her to do a simple manicure. I asked her if I should choose the color, to which she replied: "yes, go ahead". After choosing it, I realized it was dry so I asked her if she has another one. She said no, I do not think so, but neither checked if they had more or offered a different color. This was already putting me off.
Furthermore, to take off the shellac I previously had, she did not soak the cotton enough, basically she opted for scratching my nails and erase the whole natural coat the nail has - First rule of a manicurist. She did not ask which shape did I want on my nails, just started filing them in a painful and rude way, while she was checking her phone. Someone called her and she yelled at the receptionist "could you please take this call?". The receptionist ignored her and she took the call and stopped doing my manicure to have a conversation with her boyfriend while I freaked out. I did not say anything.
Although I had very long nails, she managed to file them not only irregularly, but also extremely short. I had to ask her 3 times to even them and to file the corners smoothly. The 4th time I asked her to let me do it as I had been there for 1:45 minutes already. I then had to even my nails myself while she was checking her text messages on her phone. Did not even tried to stop me or to help. After she did my manicure in the worst inexperienced and rude way possible - including making all my fingers bleed and left hang-nails all over, she started painting my nails, also painting outside. She did only 2 coats of paint, when clearly you could see through my nails, it was not even nor dull. Honestly, I have never had a worse manicure. And I have had hundreds.
The nightmare does not end up there: The following day one of my nails chipped. I went to the salon and explained how my nail had chipped one day after getting my manicure done. Just to clarify, I have had permanent manicures for years and they have never chipped one day after - usually they last for 2-3 weeks. Then I asked her to speak to her manager. She said she was on her own and I asked her to facilitate an email or a phone number. She did not. A client was there and you could see in her face she was also freaking out. After a 15 minutes altercation I got her to give me in a rude and apathetic manner, this email address. I have never met a more impolite, thuggish and incompetent beautician.
I really hope she gets fired or at least that you hire your employees a bit more wisely, as this is clearly the best way to destroy your business. Also, please, kindly encourage them to pick up the phone as they do not do it deliberately - I have witnessed this for years. There is no need to pay to receive not only a bad service, but to feel ignored and badly treated...uncomfortable at times due to the bad vibes exixting between the staff.
I've never experience worst service in my life.
I bought a Groupon voucher for pedi & mani, and went to proceed with calling to make a reservation. I arrived to my appointment on time, only to find that the shop was closed. I had to call the next day to find out that they were short staff so they weren't able to accommodate for my appointment. I was disappointed but said I would call back once I've reviewed my schedule to make a new appointment.
The next day I tried calling, and it went to voice mail. It's been weeks now and I haven't been able to get ahold of this salon. I decided to send an email, where I finally got a response saying " we will have to get back to you".... it's been another week and still nothing.
EXTREMELY poor service and unprofessional. I'm cutting my losses here, as my time spent booking the appointment has cost me more money than the actual voucher.
Booked with La Durbin for my birthday in October, ( a month in advance) and the week of my appointment they called to say they had to reschedule as my hairdresser was no longer available. I of course was very disappointed with this but the staff at this hairdressers went above and beyond to make it up to me. They gave me a new booking (which I had Saturday just gone). The Salon is really cute & the staff really friendly. On my arrival I had a consultation with a hair stylists who gave me a fabulous cut and an amazing blow dry. Not only that but I was also offered a complimentary manicure which turned out really fabulous. Ill definitely be back here soon. At the time of writing this they also had a brilliant offer on for an hour long massage- definitely worth checking out!
