Quick Facts About Marina Pet Spa
The Marina Pet Spa has several strengths that make it highly recommended by customers. One of its greatest strengths is its reputation for providing high-quality service. Many customers have been going to the spa for years and have consistently received excellent care for their dogs. The owner and his team of expert groomers are highly knowledgeable and skilled in their work, which has earned the trust of customers.
Another strength of Marina Pet Spa is its reasonable prices. Customers appreciate that they can get their dogs groomed for a great value, with services such as shampooing, rinsing, drying, cleaning of folds and wrinkles, gland expression, and nail trimming all included. The spa offers these services for less than what would normally be expected, making it an affordable option for dog owners.
The staff at Marina Pet Spa also receives praise for their caring and friendly attitude towards the dogs. Customers note that the whole staff is great with the pups and genuinely cares about their comfort, safety, and work. One customer even mentioned that the staff allowed them to stay in the back with their dog during the grooming process, providing a comforting and reassuring experience.
The location of Marina Pet Spa is also mentioned as a strength. It is conveniently located in a strip mall on Washington Blvd, just a few blocks from Venice Pier. While the parking lot can get busy, there is free parking available for customers. The convenience of the location and the availability of parking make it easier for customers to visit the spa.
Additionally, the spa's ability to get customers in even without an appointment is seen as a strength. Customers appreciate that they can walk in and get their dog's nails clipped or other services without having to wait for an appointment. The owner is praised for being amazing with dogs, helpful, and friendly, which adds to the positive experience at the spa.
Despite these strengths, there are a few weaknesses that have been pointed out by customers. One customer mentioned that the spa is closed on Sundays and Mondays, which can be inconvenient for those who may want to schedule appointments on those days. Additionally, the fact that it is a "dog only" business means that other types of pets are not catered to, which might limit the customer base.
Another weakness mentioned is the busy parking lot, which can make it difficult for customers to find a spot to park. This could potentially be a frustration for customers, especially those with larger or older dogs who may struggle with long walks from a parking spot. However, it should be noted that overall, the convenience of the location and the presence of free parking are still seen as positive aspects.
In conclusion, Marina Pet Spa is a highly recommended grooming place with several strengths. These include a long-standing reputation for quality service, reasonable prices, caring and friendly staff, and a convenient location. While it may have a few weaknesses such as limited operating hours and a busy parking lot, the overall positive experience and excellent care provided to dogs make it a top choice for many dog owners.

I have been coming here since 1995 with my first English Bulldog puppy and now, almost exactly 26 years later, my current English Bulldog has been coming here since he was a pup (he's 5 now).
Even though I moved to Palm Springs, I wasn't able to find a groomer that equals the quality service that my dog and I get from Marina Pet Spa.
Chief is always expertly cleaned including all of his folds and trouble spots. His glands are expressed and his nails are trimmed and shaped perfectly for a very reasonable price.
The same owner since I started going there. He and his team of expert groomers really know what they are doing. I 100% trust them with my pup!
To make an advance appointment, call them during business hours. They are open for appointments Tuesday through Saturday 8:30am with 4:30pm being the time the last dog should be picked up. They are closed holidays, Sundays, and Mondays.
Expect about a two hour average turnaround depending on how much work is to be done.
It is a "dog only" business.
I am so glad they weathered the worst of the pandemic and grateful they are all healthy and still in business with the same amazing team.
I think me driving from Palm Springs to Marina Pet Spa regularly should tell you that I highly recommend this independent small business whole heartedly.
Really appreciate their services, I go to get my corgi's nails clipped regularly. It's super fast, and you can tell the whole staff is great with the pups and cares a lot about their comfort/safety/work.
Excellent service. Have bring my dog her for servers years. My dog looks great after very friendly spa and not pricy
I have been taking my bulldogs here since my first one, Uma, 1995, Ethel 1999, Chief 2015. I have continued to recommend Marina Pet Spa to all of my friends and they all have become repeat customers. They are awesome!
The owner and his team do an outstanding job of taking care of my beloved pups. I have recently moved out of the area and I go out of my way to bring Chief there to have his "spa day" as we call it to be groomed.
It is a "no frills" experience. It is located in a strip mall on Washington Blvd just a few blocks from Venice Pier. There is free parking but the lot is usually VERY busy. I would recommend to book in advance. ALWAYS be specific with special conditions or areas of your dog with them. They will take special care to make sure it is accommodated.
Their prices are incredibly reasonable. My bulldog has a shampoo, rinse, dry (including his folds and wrinkles cleaned), glands expressed, and nails trimmed for less than you would normally expect.
Ricky, who usually bathes Chief, is awesome with him and Chief is always perfect when I pick him up. All of the staff there are great. They are professionals and they LOVE DOGS. And they will love yours and take the utmost care with them.
It usually is about 2 to 2.5 hours for your pet to be groomed but it depends on their volume of the day.
You should call ahead for an appointment and hours of operation. In general, they are open Tuesday through Saturday.
Like I said, I have been bringing my pups to MARINA PET SPA for 25 years. They are great!
Hagie is very knowledgeable and caring, he explained to me what he was doing and how to care going fwd...His assistant, a young fellow with black hair and GymShark ( I want him to get recognition - he is strong and so caring!!!!) They let me stay the entire time - in the back with my dog...they gave him as much love and pets as I did - I wish I could have known about this place the last 10 years I lived in MDR - but will continue to sing his praises. To top it off the pricing is 1/4 of the Shane Vet! Captain looks amazing! woof!
This place is great and always gets me in. The owner is amazing with dogs and very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.
Called to inquire price for walk in dog nail clipping. Man shouted FIFTEEN DOLLARS!
I have a 13 y/o chihuahua, can I hold her while you cut her nails?
Wow! I was told NO, you give me your dog & can't come in.
I go in the back & cut & give you back your dog.
I'm not comfortable not being able to watch you with my dog.
What's the issue?
Hmmmm. Red flag to me!
Wow! My puppy came out looking spectacular!
This is how a dog grooming experience should be...everyone at the shop loves dogs and takes pride in their work. It definitely felt like an old time barbershop where folks take their time to give the perfect cut. We had an awful experience at healthy spot and they put us at ease. Can't speak highly enough about these guys!
