Excellent place to get a classic barber's haircut. Joseph has continued the business from his father and is the epitome of what you look for in a barbershop. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff make you feel like you belong. It's always great catching up with the guys.
The haircut was great. I was disappointed to find out after the haircut that this is a CASH ONLY place. Especially in the COVID times, we expect businesses to support cashless payment options. I had to withdraw from some ATM and got charged a good fee to be able to pay for the haircut.
Joe David, the owner, has been cutting my hair for 24 years. The atmosphere in this barbershop is one that most have only seen in the movies. You don't go to this barbershop for the quick in and out cut, this is much better. Both Joe and Joe actually care about and know each of their customers and deliver the best of cuts. The memorabilia around the shop is perfect, wall to wall displays of historic Ithaca and barbershop supplies and signage. Plus, each cut is finished with a straight razor edge up. There's no better place to go than Mikey David's, tell em Ryan sent ya!
We were traveling through for a wedding and my husband got a great cut here. They are super friendly and the service is excellent.
I just had a great time in this fantastic barbershop! First of all, the haircut looks great immediately - my mother couldn't tell it was from the same day (score!). Joe and Joe are really engaging. Their "traditional" barbershop conversation is peppered with a unique flair of jokes and tall tales. Lots and lots of fun to talk with them. But most importantly, these are barbers of integrity and sincerity who do a really fine job. I'm definitely going back next time I need a cut!
No appointments accepted. First come first served. Wasted literally 1.75 hours waiting for a cut on a Saturday. Arrived at 8 am too. Sat in another person's pile of hair. Prices are fair...not sure if they take cards. I recall needing to pay in cash. Cut was much higher quality than Pecos.
I stopped in here to get a cut when visiting my brother who lives in Ithaca. By far it was the best, cleanest cut I've ever gotten. The two gentlemen who own the shop are true professionals and keep the good barber shop talk going the whole time.
Mikey David's always gives a great haircut and has a classic barbershop atmosphere. I always leave the shop with a haircut I am happy with and a few new one-liners.
