I used to be a very big fan and regular customer at nail atelier but after today I will not be going back. Last time I went I was charged to get my nail fixed in addition to the manicure price which was fine because it was cracked but the same night it cracked again. I went back in the next morning and was charged an additional $10.00 to get the nail fixed. I came back today for another gel manicure and was charged $40 for not having any cuticles cut and having several imperfections in my nails.
I've been here twice now- once for a mani pedi and recently for a gel manicure, and both times have been very pleased! It's a clean and spacious salon and everyone who works here has been very friendly.
Yesterday I tried getting a design on my nails (first time ever) so I wasn't sure how'd it go, but they made it look exactly like the photo I showed the nail artist and I'm very pleased!
Rude owners. Asked to have 2 nails fixed when they broke after 3 (!!!) days of getting a dip manicure here. They only did 2 coats of dip & did not file the sides down - so they snagged on clothing. My nails were long & healthy after getting dip for 5 months consistently.
The owner yelled at me & claimed I needed to pay them to get them fixed, once I was inside the salon & in the chair, of course.
So many other salons in JC/Hoboken without this headache & that are nicer to customers!
Edit: 2 more nails have since cracked & broken after snagging on clothing.
I have tried Nail Atelier many times before the pandemic and ran into issues with them. I was desperate for a nail appointment today and let's just say I will absolutely will not be back again and was reminded why I stopped going there. I had a 2:00 appointment (that started on time) - I did not leave the salon until 3:45. All I got was dip powder manicure. The first 50 minutes were spent taking off the powder that was already on my nails. The next 55 minutes were spent making so many mistakes one after the other. The first mistake was when a gash was made in the dip on my nail - I tried to correct her on the spot so she didn't have to worry about it and could fix it right away. She said "I know I'm not done I'll file it at the end". Fast forward... she tried to file it at the end and SHOCKINGLY she couldn't fix it...had to redo the whole nail. She then put a gash with the tool she was using in another nail. Kept trying to fix it, kept trying to fix it....and she couldn't. Had to redo that nail as well. THEN once the clear coat was finally put on, the stylist touches the clear coat way too early while it is still wet and sticky and she messed up the nail AGAIN. Almost two hours later I couldn't take it anymore, I finally got up while my nails were still wet. I kept quiet the whole time because I don't like to be rude, but I paid, still left a tip and they told me to come back this week to fix the nails. I DO NOT HAVE ANYMORE OF MY TIME TO GIVE THEM. I even asked if they would provide a discount due to the fact that my nails were messed up, but no. Still paid full price for the messed up nails with zero apology from the TWO nail stylists who worked on my nails (both of which made their own mistakes). Ridiculous establishment I would give zero stars if I could.
Amiee is the best! A bit pricey but always worth it as they are very thorough with each service and particular in cleanliness and sanitation. I have never been disappointed with my nails. Everyone is always nice and welcoming. I love this place.
I needed my acrylic nails removed and to get a gel manicure. The woman said it will be $20 to remove the acrylic. I never spend that much just to get acrylic removed. I always pay $5 and a maximum of $8. So I decided to remove the acrylic myself which took me less than a minute and I asked if I can just get the gel manicure. She proceeded to say I am going to still charge for the acrylic removal. I laughed and said goodbye, lady. She was not too friendly from the beginning anyways. Definitely going elsewhere.
Overall I really like this nail salon and the service is good. My issue is with the fact that whenever I book an appointment because I have to be somewhere, my scheduled time is NEVER honored. I wait at least 30 min. I actually have better luck just walking in. If you actually need an appointment at a certain time, I highly recommend booking for 30 min earlier than you need!
Hoping next time will redeem
