Quick Facts About Original African Hair Braiding
Strengths:
1. Reasonable prices: Customers have mentioned that the prices at Original African Hair Braiding are reasonable for the styles they receive. This can be a major strength for the business, as it attracts customers who are looking for affordable braiding services.
2. Skilled stylists: The comments highlight the skills of certain stylists, such as Aida, who consistently provide excellent hair braiding. This showcases that the salon has talented and experienced staff members who can deliver high-quality results.
3. Friendly and professional staff: Multiple comments mention that the staff at the salon are friendly, efficient, courteous, and professional. This creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers, making them feel comfortable and well taken care of during their visit.
4. Clean and well-maintained space: One comment mentions that the salon is clean, which is an important aspect for customers when choosing a hair salon. A clean and well-maintained space can enhance the overall perception of the business and provide a pleasant environment for customers.
5. Long-standing customer relationships: One comment mentions that the customer has been visiting the salon for over 20 years and has always been satisfied. This indicates that the business has established long-standing relationships with its customers, which speaks to the trust and loyalty they have built over the years.
Weaknesses:
1. Inconsistency in service quality: One customer mentions that their experience differed depending on the stylist they had. This highlights a potential weakness in the salon's consistency in providing high-quality service across all staff members. Customers may be concerned about receiving the same level of service if they choose a different stylist.
2. Issues with pricing and communication: Two customers mention issues with pricing and communication. One customer felt that their payment was misrepresented, while the other customer experienced a discrepancy in the quoted price for their desired hairstyle. These instances indicate a weakness in the salon's ability to effectively communicate pricing and manage customer expectations. This can lead to frustration and dissatisfaction among customers.
3. Lack of coordination and organization: One customer shares their experience of waiting for over two hours and ultimately leaving without being serviced. This suggests a lack of coordination and organization in managing appointment times and ensuring timely service for customers. This can lead to customer frustration and negatively impact the salon's reputation.
4. Limited availability: One comment mentions that all chairs were full upon arrival, resulting in a prolonged wait time. This indicates a potential weakness in the salon's capacity to handle a high volume of customers, which can lead to inconvenience for those who have to wait for extended periods.
5. Lack of flexibility in pricing: One customer mentions that when they questioned the price discrepancy, the salon was unwilling to braid their hair for the quoted or previously paid price. This highlights a potential weakness in the salon's willingness to accommodate customers and negotiate on pricing, which can deter customers who are looking for flexibility in their budget.
In conclusion, Original African Hair Braiding has several strengths, including reasonable prices, skilled stylists, friendly staff, a clean space, and long-standing customer relationships. However, the salon also faces weaknesses such as inconsistency in service quality, issues with pricing and communication, lack of coordination and organization, limited availability, and a lack of flexibility in pricing. These weaknesses should be addressed to improve the overall customer experience and maintain a positive reputation in the market.
Best TL Reviews
I’ve been three times now the prices seem reasonable for the styles I get, the hair isn’t included so you either buy your own or pay extra to use their hair. The first two times I had Aida and loved loved loved my hair. The second time I had someone else (can’t remember her name) but I didn’t like my hair as much (ombré braids weren’t done right) and I felt like she lied about my payment. Both times I went with Aida I paid with my card and there was no extra fee or problem. This time she tells me it’s extra if I pay with my card. I recommend asking for Aida if you do go. I haven’t tried anybody else but after that last person I’d rather stick with Aida.
I’m wondering if this is a good place to come. I have seen good reviews and also not so good reviews. I’ve seen the manager respond back apologizing however it’s not enough. I wanna be able to come somewhere and everyone is on the same page every time. I’m looking to get medium to large knotless to mid length just above the waist. Is that enough description for you to quote a price the price it will be the same if I came into the establishment. If I’m given a price for a particular style and length, it should be honored. As myself and I’m sure others already knowing how much money they are going to spend. So I would like to know the price for the style that I requested as well as the length I gave. It will be extremely unprofessional no amount of Sorrys or I apologize wouldn’t matter. You have to stand on what you say to future customers and current customers. If I’m given a quote for something I’ve given you the description and you completely understood it and you tell me a price that price should be honored. Not trying to tell the customer to get something shorter with a larger price. That is very unprofessional being in a business so long it’s not fair to the customers new or current.
I've been a customer at Original African Hair Braiding for over 20 years and have always been satisfied, no matter the style. The owner, Khadeja, and her staff are friendly, efficient, courteous, and highly skilled. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
Just got my hair done today very wonderful experience definitely will be a returning client ❤️
I got my hair braided here in the past, so I decided to book another appointment. My previous service consisted of medium sized waist length box braids (box braids to the hips/butt) the final price was $210. I called and made an appointment for 9:45am, and was quoted a price of $200. All chairs were full when I arrived, so I had to wait which I did patiently. I got in the chair at 12:30pm and showed the stylist where I wanted my hair. She told me that my desired length was butt length not waist length. The stylist let me know that the style that I wanted (the exact same thing I got before) was $300. I let her know about my quote earlier that week and the price I paid in the past for the exact same hair style. I even provided pictures of their past work. The stylist told me that $210 wasn’t one of their prices and then pointed to the customer sitting across from me and told me she was paying $300 for my requested style. She then told me that for $250 she would braid my hair to the mid-back area. I told her no because that is not what I asked for. She then got another woman who I believe is the owner/manager. I told the owner/manager everything that I told the stylist including pictures of their past work. The two women began to have a side conversation and then finally told me that they were unwilling to braid my hair for the quoted price or the price that I paid in the past. They both suggested that I get my hair shorter so that the price would be cheaper, but that is not what I wanted. After sitting there waiting for over two hours, I left without being serviced. As I’m walking out the door the owner/manager repeats that they would braid my hair shorter for cheaper. Overall, the entire experience was unprofessional and a bit aggravating. All that time that I spent waiting to be serviced could’ve been used to find another hair salon. If someone would’ve talked to me when I first arrived about what I was looking for and prices, I would’ve been able to save my self valuable time that was waisted waiting for a chair to open up.
The space is clean . The ladies were very professional. I came to get a consultation the day before my appointment. I liked the atmosphere in the shop. The stylist had over 10 years of experience. I have soft hair and she was able to grab my hair easily! It looks awesome. I have recommended them to others ! I will return for more braids in the future.
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and I’ve never been disappointed by the quality of their service.
My mom and I really enjoy getting our hair styled here. We always get lots of compliments on our hair styles! Also, the owner Khadija is really nice and accommodating. We’ve been regular clients for many years. Keep up the excellent work!
