Quick Facts About Phoenix Nails & Spa
Phoenix Nails & Spa has a number of strengths that make it a highly recommended place for getting nails done. First and foremost, customers praise the exceptional job done by the technicians. They consistently deliver great results, whether it's a shellac manicure or nail art. The pricing is also affordable, making it a preferred choice among customers. The shellac manicure, which costs $35-$40, lasts for weeks without chipping, providing excellent value for money. Furthermore, the salon is readily accommodating when it comes to scheduling appointments, often able to squeeze in customers even with short notice. Waiting times are generally minimal, ensuring efficient service.
Another strength of Phoenix Nails & Spa is the friendly and welcoming environment. Customers highlight the warm and inviting atmosphere, which enhances the overall experience. The staff members are described as friendly, creating a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for customers. This type of positive environment is an important asset for any nail salon.
The salon is also commended for its care of natural nails. Unlike other places that can damage natural nails during the nail application process, Phoenix Nails & Spa takes great care to protect and maintain the health of customers' natural nails. Clients report being able to grow long and healthy natural nails because of the salon's attention to detail. This type of commitment to natural nail health is highly valued by customers.
However, there are also some weaknesses mentioned by customers that Phoenix Nails & Spa should address. One customer expressed concern over being charged without their knowledge or permission for a gel application. This issue raises questions about transparency and communication between the salon and customers. Similarly, another customer mentioned being surprised by extra charges for fixing chipped or cracked nails, which they had not experienced before. These unexpected charges and lack of information about them could create dissatisfaction among customers.
Additionally, some customers mention price discrepancies and lack of rationale in the pricing structure. While the majority of services offered are seen as reasonably priced, inconsistency in pricing for certain features, such as matte nails or longer length, can be confusing and frustrating to customers. Communicating the pricing structure clearly and providing transparent explanations for pricing variations would be beneficial.
In summary, Phoenix Nails & Spa has numerous strengths, including their exceptional nail services and affordable pricing. The friendly and welcoming environment, as well as the salon's commitment to preserving the health of natural nails, contribute to its positive reputation. However, the salon should address the weaknesses mentioned, such as transparency in pricing, unexpected charges, and lack of rationale for certain pricing variations.

This is the only place I’ll go to in Kalamazoo to get my nails done! They always do a great job and their pricing is really affordable. I usually get a shellac manicure for $35-$40 and it lasts for weeks without chipping (for reference, the first photo was right after my appointment and the second is exactly a month later!!!)
You need to call ahead to schedule an appointment, but they’ve usually been able to squeeze me in even when I’ve only called a day or two in advance, and I’ve rarely had to wait once I get there. Highly recommend!
I struggled finding a great nail place in Kalamazoo for awhile until I found Phoenix Nails. I’ve been going there repeatedly for the last 6 months and every time they are nothing short of amazing. Not only do they do an exceptional job, but they are friendly and the environment is always so welcoming. They also take such good care of your natural nails. I’ve been to places that absolutely destroy your natural nails in the process of doing your nails. I have been able to grow my natural nails so long and they are so healthy, I definitely recommend Phoenix nails to anyone who is looking for a great nail place!!
Great place! Does really good nail art
I went to get my nails done at Phoenix Nails & Spa and during the process they always ask do you want gel or acrylic and during the process I was not asked this, I was automatically given “gel” and charged extra for it without my knowledge or permission. I also heard Ann’s husband who was doing another lady’s nails and she asked what the difference was and he said the “gel” powder was whiter than the acrylic powder and he blatantly lied to this woman. There is no such thing as a gel powder and the gel should be actual gel, not a powder which is actually disguised as acrylic powder. They’re basically using acrylic powder, disguising it as gel, using ONLY a gel nail polish and charging you extra while being dishonest about what they’re actually using. I can’t imagine how many people they have scammed using this acrylic powder, disguising it as “gel” which is a powder and not an actual gel which it should be. I filed a report with the FTC and will never use this business for their dishonest practices again.
This was one of my favorite places to go but recently I feel like I was overcharged. I got a dip/overlay change and my eyebrows done for a total of $83 I never been charged this much by them so this was a shock. I got my nails done Friday and yesterday one of the nails chipped and one cracked so I went back today, Monday to get them fixed and was charged $8 for the fix. I never been charged for a fix so I’m not sure what’s going on.
Great service!¡! Not every nail tech paints the awesome design like one seen in photo; however, even if yours does not they will have another tech do whatever the design is after other tech is finished for no additional charge¡!¡!
I do the dip manicure. Ive never had a dip from anywhere (in Kalamazoo or GR) that lasted more than a week. So far it's been 2.5 weeks and they are still going strong. So impressed with how long they've lasted without chipping/popping off/cracking.
I love getting my nails done here and believe they are the best quality in town. However, they are slightly more costly than most salons and without much rationale. I get a full set here for $50, which is reasonable. I recently got a full set with plain burgundy matte nails and was charged $58. When I asked what the extra $8 was for she said $5 for matte and $3 for long nails. This doesn’t appear to make much since because matte is just a top cost, it doesn’t require extra work nor does keeping my nail length medium/long. They also don’t charge for your nail length when you have them shiny instead of matte so this doesn’t make much since.
I will definitely keep going due to great quality but price rationale should be considered and also told to the customer prior to doing their nails.
