Quick Facts About Quest Diagnostics

Quest Diagnostics is a popular provider of diagnostic testing services, with numerous locations across the country. While there are positive comments about the company's efficiency and friendly personnel, there are also several criticisms that highlight its weaknesses. This analysis aims to provide a balanced view of Quest Diagnostics' strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
One of the strengths often mentioned is the convenience of being able to walk in without an appointment. This is particularly beneficial for those who may need immediate testing or prefer not to go through the process of scheduling an appointment. Additionally, the easy registration process and the option to wait in the car as they send a text when ready are seen as positive factors in the overall patient experience. The personnel is generally regarded as nice and focused due to being timed, ensuring they don't waste time chit-chatting. This focus is seen as beneficial for efficiency and ensuring a smooth process for patients.
Another strength highlighted is the professionalism and skill of some of the staff members. Positive experiences with specific phlebotomists like Elizabeth and Fausto indicate that there are competent individuals who provide a comfortable and successful blood draw experience. These instances contribute to positive overall experiences with Quest Diagnostics.
However, numerous weaknesses are also outlined in the comments. One of the most significant weaknesses mentioned is the issue of appointment times not being respected. Patients who made appointments mentioned waiting well beyond their scheduled time, creating frustration and inconvenience. This lack of adherence to appointment times can be seen as a significant weakness in the company's operations and customer service.
The impersonal waiting room atmosphere is another weakness highlighted by commenters. The lack of a staffed front desk means that patients have no one to address their grievances or concerns during their wait. This absence of personal interaction can contribute to a negative customer experience and a feeling of being unheard or disregarded.
There are also concerns regarding the reliability of Quest Diagnostics' communication processes. Some commenters express frustration with fax or electronic orders not being received by the facility, leading to delays and misunderstandings. Additionally, issues with delayed texts and malfunctioning computers further highlight communication weaknesses that can negatively impact patients' experiences.
Furthermore, there are instances where patients felt uncomfortable or experienced negative physical symptoms during their visit. From a customer's feedback, they described feeling sick, experiencing pain from a needle insertion, and not receiving proper care or attention from the staff. These instances highlight potential gaps in training, customer service, and overall patient care that need to be addressed.
Finally, there are comments that point to systemic issues within Quest Diagnostics, such as lost tests and mishandled mailers. These instances raise concerns about the company's internal processes, quality control, and overall reliability.
In conclusion, while there are positive aspects mentioned about Quest Diagnostics, such as convenience, efficiency, and some skilled personnel, the comments provided also reveal significant weaknesses. These weaknesses include the lack of adherence to appointment times, the impersonal waiting room atmosphere, communication issues, instances of poor patient care, and potential systemic issues within the company. Addressing these weaknesses will be crucial for Quest Diagnostics to improve its overall customer experience and maintain its reputation as a trusted provider of diagnostic testing services.

Best TL Reviews

Most times I do not make an appt. Just walk in. Granted, I go first thing in the morning and wait outside for about 15 min and have a few people ahead of me. Easy registration and able to sit in car instead of office as they text you when ready. The personnel is nice. They are timed, so they so not have time to be chit chatting. Monday morning I had Elizabeth. Wonderful lady. Very exact, to the point and made a perfect needle insert and draw. Great experience. One last item. Always try to get a hard copy of your order from your doctor. Then you do not have to worry about the communications and sending/receiving the forms.
2nd time at this location. 2nd time they said they didn’t get fax or electronic orders. Floor manager was short and Defensive with me. Meanly said my doctors office was lying to me about sending it. This is one of 5 other locations I have been to. Staff only friendly with some people. Better to drive further for better service. Staff has ID badge backwards so you can’t ID them. Finally sample taken 45 mins after appt. By a kind guy Fausto who appeared new.
If their goal was to be an example of everything wrong with American health care, they are are well on their way. I made an appointment for 8:00 AM, and arrived at 7:55. There is no one to greet you, just a check in kiosk. Once you are checked in, they tell you how long you will now have to wait (35 minutes, in my case). This is actually a lie. I'm still sorting in the lobby, 35 minutes later, and the scrolling board says I still have 18 more minutes.
I made an appointment because I wanted to control the time. I had to fast prior to this test, so I am tired, cranky, and hungry. If I had known I wouldn't get sent until an hour after my appointment, I could have started the day later. Why even give me an appointment time of I won't be seen at that time? And the impersonal waiting room of course means there's no one to even hear your grievances.
I chose this location because my insurance called them a preferred center or whatever. But the one I usually go to sees me within 10 minutes of my appointment. I'll just keep going there.
I was in there today and I believe I had a tall black man named Lorenzo? I’ve never had an issue with my veins, nor feeling sick after an appointment he got three vials, and could not get the fourth and I could feel the needle going further in my vein. I told him I was not feeling well and he pulled a needle out and said I would either have to come back or wait it out. I said I wanted it all done today so we called the supervisor and she had no problem getting that last vile. But in the meantime, I’m sweating I’m pale I’m seeing double and I went out into the waiting room and I was there for probably 20 minutes and nobody even came out to check on me. I will not be going back now. I know why it has a low star rating
Used to be a 5 ???? review. I've never had a problem here until the other day. Before the other day, everything was great and the fit walkins between appointments. Gentleman who left at the same time as me said he was waiting 2 hours and kept getting pushed back. I was there for at least 45 minutes waiting and the board said 20 when I logged in. Waiting 2 hours is inexcusable. I tried to make an appointment today for today or tomorrow or even Monday and apparently there are no appointments available anywhere. Thank you Quest for turning into Labcorp. I'm disabled and cannot sit in those chairs for hours. INEXCUSABLE!
I signed jn for my appointment early. The system gave an option to wait in my car so I did. I promptly came in after receiving the text to come in. Sat for 45 minutes waiting because there is no front desk. I finally got assertive and asked a staff member calling someone else and she said she had tried to call me twice and sometimes the texts go out delayed. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
I go out of my way to come to this Quest location. They are very fast and efficient. I've never had a wait for more than 5 minutes. The waiting room does not get crowded. I'm always impressed with them. Awesome job!
I stopped by to drop off a fecal blood test. When I arrived about two or three weeks ago, at this location, to drop it off, in the morning early, there were maybe 12 people waiting around frustrated. The two computers in the lobby were malfunctioning– there are only two. When people were typing, it wasn’t typing correctly.
And their business model is not to have any desk interface with customers.
People were very frustrated. Very. I left, knowing that I could mail off the sample that I was going to hand deliver. And yet…
I drove directly to the post office on 66th, and put the test in the mailbox using the mailer provided by Quest.
Three weeks later… They apparently lost the test. Because my provider, who pre-completed the forms, never got the results.
Something’s broken here. In a big way.
Not only was the local place broken. But if I recall, the mailer was sent to the Tampa main location. And they mishandled that.
I assume that Corporate reads these reviews. If they don’t, it would be a staggering misjudgment.
I’m sure they’re not picking on me. But you’ve got to wonder how common these errors are.
Now I get to retake the test. Not the end of the world. But still… A giant waste of time.
To be fair, I did have blood work done here previously, and that went very smoothly.
