Riviera Nails & Spa: Strengths and Weaknesses
Riviera Nails & Spa is a nail salon that has received a mix of positive and negative reviews based on the customer comments provided. To evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the salon, we will analyze the feedback and categorize them accordingly.
Strengths:
1. Consistent delivery of impressive results: Several customers have expressed their satisfaction with the quality of service and the final outcome of their nails. They were impressed by the attention to detail, creativity, and professionalism of the manicurists. These positive experiences indicate that the salon has skilled and talented staff who consistently provide excellent service.
2. Accommodating and attentive staff: Customers have praised the staff members' willingness to address concerns and make accommodations to meet their needs. Positive feedback such as "Michelle was so accommodating and made sure she fixed them perfectly for me" and "Van did an amazing job!" indicate that the staff at Riviera Nails & Spa prioritize customer satisfaction and strive to meet their expectations.
3. Affordability: One customer mentioned that the salon offers EXTREMELY affordable services. This can be a significant advantage for attracting price-conscious customers who are looking for quality services at a reasonable cost.
4. Variety of services: The salon offers a range of services, including manicures, pedicures, SNS, gel polish, and nail extensions. This diversity allows customers to choose the treatments that suit their preferences and needs, enhancing their overall experience.
5. Positive ambience and princess services: A customer mentioned the salon's beautiful ambiance and recommended it for people looking to have a pampering experience or bring their daughters for princess services. This indicates that the salon provides a pleasant atmosphere that contributes to a relaxing and enjoyable visit.
Weaknesses:
1. Inconsistent pricing and transparency: Several customers expressed dissatisfaction with the pricing at Riviera Nails & Spa. One customer mentioned being charged $40 for a polish change, while another customer was quoted $35 for the same service. Inconsistencies in pricing can create confusion and lead to customer dissatisfaction. Additionally, one customer advised others to "know what the cost is prior to coming." This suggests that there may be a lack of transparency regarding pricing, which can negatively impact customer trust and loyalty.
2. Quality issues: Some customers reported issues with the quality of their nails. Complaints included visible nail beds, tips turning white, and dissatisfaction with the final outcome. These quality issues can impact the salon's reputation and customer satisfaction.
3. Unprofessional behavior and poor customer service: One customer described an incident where they encountered rude and discriminatory behavior. They felt seating arrangements and treatment were based on racial biases. Additionally, another customer complained about unprofessional behavior from a staff member named Kevin. Instances of unprofessionalism and poor customer service can significantly damage the salon's reputation and deter potential customers.
In conclusion, Riviera Nails & Spa has several strengths, including consistent delivery of impressive results, accommodating staff, affordability, a variety of services, and a positive ambiance. However, the salon also faces weaknesses in terms of inconsistent pricing, quality issues, and instances of unprofessional behavior and poor customer service. Addressing and improving these weaknesses will be crucial for the salon to maintain and attract a loyal customer base.

My daughter and I got our nails done three days ago and this is what they look like. We have been to the salon before and had someone do them so much better. However this particular time they put two maybe three coats of gel polish on our nails. We can see through them and the tips are already turning white. The space between cuticle and polish is already what it looked like after two weeks at a previous polish. Also we were charged $40 for just a polish change. Later we called to ask the cost of a polish change and we were quoted $35. My advice to you is know what the cost is prior to coming and make sure you choose very carefully who does your nails.
I cannot express enough how impressed I am by this place. Any time I go to a new nail salon I always start with a super simple manicure to see how they do and then go for more and more complex looks as I gain confidence and WOW! They have absolutely knocked it out of the park every time. I am continuously impressed by them. They have never once not delivered, and if there is something they don’t have the tools to do, they’re honest with you and offer alternatives (instead of lying about it like some places are prone to do.)
I got Christmas nails done today by Linn and I absolutely love them. She legitimately studied the reference photo for 30 minutes while she was doing the base for the design and then took special care to make sure I was happy at each step. I couldn’t be more impressed. 10/10 recommend them, I’ll never go anywhere else.
Oh, and also, they’re EXTREMELY affordable. This SNS was $85!
This nail salon is the absolute best in Hoover. I accidentally hit my hand really hard on the edge of a kitchen counter and cracked 3 of my nails right after I got them done. Even though this was completely my fault, I went back and asked if they were fixable. Michelle was so accommodating and made sure she fixed them perfectly for me. I was so impressed with the kindness and attention to detail!
Amazing service! The owners and employees really stand by the quality of their work and it shows! I got my first pedicure here and definitely will be coming back. My girlfriend was very happy with her nails done with such attention to detail and care by Kevin.
If you’re looking for a beautiful ambiance or to bring your daughters for princess services, Go to Riviera Nail salon for your pampering needs!
I got the SNS with nail extensions. Helen was my manicurist and she was so good. Fast and efficient! Nails turned out super cute and you can tell from how fast she works that she’s a professional. Definitely will come back here again!
I booked an appointment at Riviera for the first time last night and Van did an amazing job! I've never been more obsessed with my nails. Will definitely be going back.
Rude, discriminatory and RACIST!
Visiting and came to get a pedicure. While there were about 15 folks getting manicures up front, there were none getting pedicures in the back.
Initially, they said it would be 15 minutes, which was fine because I’m reading a book. One of the managers, however, came after less than five to take me to the back where there were about 10 pedicure massage chairs. Again, I was the only person in the back.
The manager takes me to a chair- the last seat in the back nearest the restroom. I ask to first use the ladies room. I came out and there was no one there. No water running, no plastic in the pedicure bowl- nothing in preparation for me. Cool… I have a book.
I sit and begin to read and notice 5 minutes have passed since I came out of the ladies and still no one has come over to prep for the pedi. People are walking all around me, including the man who seated me. Then another man comes with a woman. He immediately puts the plastic liner in and runs the water and he invites her to take a seat and begins her service. This woman is seated at the very first chair.
More time lapses and I decide to turn on the massage chair. More time lapses and I decide to rest the back of my calves on the rest of the pedicure stand. Didn’t want to do this because there is still no towel or plastic covering.
Finally a woman named “Van” comes out and yells at me “TAKE YOUR BOOTS OFF”. I ask her if that is the proper way to speak to a guest. She repeats the offense. I ask for a manager. She storms off speaking in an unknown language. More time passes and several workers come out looking at me, but no manager. Finally the man who seated me comes out and I asked where the manager was. He said he was the manager. I asked whether Van told him I requested his presence, he said no. I asked for the owner.
The woman comes over, and I explain to her what happened and stated the obvious- I, as a Black woman was seated at the last seat, nearest the bathroom, while the young white presenting woman was seated immediately in front. She starts yelling at me stating they are not racist… thirty minutes later, I leave without a pedicure.
Black women and lovers of Black women: do not frequent places that don’t treat Black women with the common courtesy and respect we deserve.
This is how my nails look right after leaving this place I told the man multiple times I didn’t like how my nails look he continued to tell me he was going to fix them it got to a point where there was no fixing them I told him I didn’t like them to which point he started just cutting them off and then told me I could get out of his chair when I told him I’d like to speak with someone else he told me there was nobody that could talk to me. He walked away and another lady started to speak to me. while she was trying to talk to me he came up and told her that nobody could take my nails off and I was to leave. extremely unprofessional I would absolutely not recommend getting your nails done here or having any business with this establishment all. Kevin was horrible
