Quick Facts About Star Nails
Star Nails has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. The strengths include positive experiences with the service, kind staff, excellent pedicure massages, color variety, emphasis on cleanliness and sterilization, and the fact that it is a family-owned establishment. However, the weaknesses include issues with availability and wait times, unprofessional and unapologetic behavior, poor quality dip powder manicures resulting in bleeding and chipping, ineffectiveness in removing ingrown toenails, lack of gel polish for pedicures, nails popping off after a week, lack of accountability when mistakes are made, and rude and nasty treatment when addressing concerns.
One strength of Star Nails is the positive experiences some customers had with their service. One person mentioned being pleased with their service, specifically noting that the salon helped clear up an infection under their fingernail that they had gotten from another salon. Additionally, customers appreciated the kind staff, mentioning that they were always friendly and welcoming.
Another strength mentioned by a customer is the excellent pedicure massages offered at Star Nails. This customer highlighted the over an hour-long service, emphasizing exfoliation, and the resulting smoothness of their feet. They also praised the fact that the salon required masks and sterilized everything, showing a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
The color variety available at Star Nails was mentioned as a strength by a satisfied customer. This indicates that the salon offers a wide range of colors for customers to choose from, allowing for customization and personal preference.
The fact that Star Nails is a family-owned establishment was appreciated by one customer. This suggests that the personal touch and care associated with family businesses may be present at this salon, making customers feel more valued and important.
On the other hand, there are several weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One common weakness is issues with availability and wait times. One customer mentioned that despite calling ahead, the salon already had three people and two staff members working, leading to a long wait. They also noted that the salon accepted three more customers while they were there, not informing them of the wait time. Another customer mentioned going an hour before closing, indicating that they may have expected faster service due to the time constraints. These instances suggest that Star Nails may not effectively manage their appointment bookings and could do better in providing accurate information to customers regarding wait times.
Another weakness highlighted in the comments is the poor quality of dip powder manicures. One customer mentioned that this was the worst dip they have ever had. They left with bleeding fingers and dip all over their skin. Additionally, one of their nails chipped just a few hours later, without any external causes. This suggests that the salon may not have skilled technicians or may not pay attention to the details required for a quality dip powder manicure.
An issue with ingrown toenail removal was mentioned by a customer, highlighting another weakness. They paid $50 for the service and mentioned that the technician complained about it in a joking manner. They also mentioned that their toe remained sore afterward. This indicates that the salon may not be providing a comfortable and professional experience for customers needing ingrown toenail removal.
Another weakness mentioned is the lack of gel polish included in the pedicure service. This indicates that customers may need to pay extra for gel polish, which could be inconvenient or disappointing for those expecting it to be included.
The comments also mention issues with accountability. Some customers mentioned that the staff showed no accountability when mistakes or issues were pointed out to them. One customer mentioned trying to address a visible issue during a pedicure, but the staff did not respond appropriately and seemed unresponsive. This lack of accountability and poor customer service can be frustrating for customers, especially when they are not provided with a satisfactory resolution.
Furthermore, the comments show that some customers experienced rude and nasty treatment when addressing concerns or issues. One customer mentioned that the staff at Star Nails tried to shift the blame onto them despite the staff seeing the issue. Another customer mentioned that the entire salon began being rude after they addressed an issue with their pedicure. This indicates that the staff at Star Nails may not handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
In conclusion, based on the comments, Star Nails has strengths in terms of positive service experiences, kind staff, excellent pedicure massages, color variety, and the fact that it is a family-owned establishment. However, there are weaknesses such as issues with availability and wait times, poor quality dip powder manicures, difficulties with ingrown toenail removal, lack of gel polish for pedicures, nails popping off after a week, lack of accountability, and rude treatment when addressing concerns. These weaknesses highlight areas for improvement in terms of customer service, professionalism, and quality control at Star Nails.

My best friend and I went to Star Nails for the first time yesterday, and we will definitely never be back. We called ahead of time to ask if they had availability for two dip powder manicures. They said yes, so we went. They already had 3 people in chairs, and only two people working, and they also accepted three more customers while we were there, not informing them of how long of a wait there was. Not only were we there entirely too long, this is the worst dip I’ve ever had, and I left with 3 fingers bleeding and dip all over my skin. 1 chipped a few hours later, not doing anything to it. My fingers hurt so badly today. They were so unprofessional and unapologetic. Horrible. 0/10.
Been 2x so far and very pleased with my service. Cleared up an infection under my fingernail that I had gotten from my "regular" salon !! I have now switched to DIPS because its not so thick and no hump in the middle. Always kind.
They had an issue with getting ingrown toenails out. I paid 50 dollars for him to complain about it in a jokingly manner and I still tipped him good. My toe has sense been sore. Also the pedicure does not come with gel polish.
Did a really good job. Very nice too. I got there an hour before closing and she didn't rush through or anything. UPDATE: Nails started popping off around a week later. Paid 40 and 10 dollar tip
I have been going here since I graduated college back in 2011 and I love them! The pedicure massages are excellent and I love the color variety. They are very friendly and welcoming!
My daughter and I booked appointments for pedicures. We splurged on the deluxe green tea pedicures $55 each. It was wonderful! It’s a pedicure that emphasizes exfoliation. It was over an hour long service and it was great! My feet have never been so smooth. It is family owned which I appreciate. And they required a mask and sterilized everything including the chairs. Will come back for sure!
I’ve gone there a couple times where I was well serviced by the daughter and an older gentleman who no longer works there. I went to get a pedicure where there was still skin visible. Trying to address that was like talking to a brick wall with the staff. They have NO accountability when they mess up. What upset me most is even with them literally seeing the issue they still tried to make me feel out to be the issue. I am highly disappointed in their mannerism and will not be back. The lady asked me “how much are you paying for your pedicure” and her intention on saying that was to say because I didn’t choose the most expensive one that’s why the quality of the service wasn’t good. No one should be working in the salon and not know how to perform the service
I decided to get a pedicure as a self care desire. I chose this establishment and they did NOT perform well. When I addressed still being able to see half peeled skin on my feet one of the workers said “How much did you decide to pay for your pedicure” as if which pedicure option you choose means you don’t actually get proper service. The only thing wet in use of my pedicure was the water. Barely used any supplies. The entire salon then began being rude to me for addressing an issue they can visibly see. It sucks that when they are in the wrong they literally have no accountability. If you’re looking for good quality this is NOT the place. IF they mess you up it’s on you and they are rude and nasty about it. The picture is literally the next morning after a pedicure! Ridiculous!
