Quick Facts About T C Pastry
T C Pastry Place, based on the comments provided, has several strengths and weaknesses that contribute to its overall reputation and customer experience. In analyzing these comments, we can gain a deeper understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of this establishment.
Starting with the strengths:
1. Local Favorite and Convenience: T C Pastry Place is recognized as a local favorite and offers a convenient option for dim sum to-go. This aspect suggests that the establishment has built a loyal customer base and is known for its offerings.
2. Value for Money: Multiple comments highlight the affordable pricing and great value provided by T C Pastry Place. Customers appreciate the quality of the food compared to the price, making it an attractive option for those looking to get their money's worth.
3. Fresh and Great Selection: The food at T C Pastry Place is praised for its freshness and wide variety. This positive feedback indicates that the establishment pays attention to the quality of its ingredients and strives to offer a diverse range of options to cater to different preferences.
4. Quick Service and Patience: Some comments mention the quick service and patient staff, particularly when explaining pricing and dishes. Efficient service can contribute to a positive customer experience, especially for those seeking a quick coffee fix or wanting to pick up their food without much delay.
However, it is essential to consider the weaknesses as well:
1. Limited Payment Options: T C Pastry Place operates on a cash-only basis, making it inconvenient for those who prefer or rely on credit card payments. This limitation could potentially deter some customers who prefer the convenience and security of card payments.
2. Subpar Service: Some comments express dissatisfaction with the service at T C Pastry Place. Complaints range from staff forgetting items in orders to poor customer service experiences. Inconsistent service can lead to frustration and dissatisfaction among customers, potentially impacting their willingness to return.
3. Inconsistent Quality: While some comments highlight the decent quality of the food, others mention that it is "just okay" or inferior to other dim sum options available. This inconsistency in quality may create uncertainty for potential customers looking for a reliable and consistently satisfying dining experience.
4. Limited Seating and Social Distancing: One comment mentions that the establishment only allows up to four customers inside, which could be viewed as both a strength and a weakness. While this limitation ensures social distancing during the current times, it can result in longer wait times or a lack of availability, inconveniencing potential customers.
5. Limited Variety of Dim Sum: One comment mentions that the dim sum offerings at T C Pastry Place may not match the experience of sit-down traditional teahouses or larger dim sum restaurants. This limitation in variety and authenticity may be a drawback for customers seeking a broader range of options or a more traditional setting.
In conclusion, T C Pastry Place has several strengths, including being a local favorite, providing value for money, offering fresh food with a great selection, and providing quick service with patient staff. However, it also has weaknesses such as limited payment options, inconsistent quality, subpar service, limited seating, and a potentially limited variety of dim sum. Understanding these strengths and weaknesses can help potential customers make an informed decision when considering visiting T C Pastry Place.

Cash Only. Local favorite Dim Sum to go place. My family loves Rice Porridge with Duck Egg 皮蛋瘦肉粥, Beef Dumpling 牛肉燒賣, Dried Shrimp Rice Noodle 蝦米豬腸粉, Sesame Ball 煎堆, Chicken & Vegetable Bun 菜肉雞包, and Hot Dog Bun 焗香腸包. It also has a cheap coffee for $1.10 ☕ if you need a quick coffee fix.
CASH ONLY. Great place to pick up some dim sum to eat at home. Better than going to hang out with everybody and their mother at a crowded restaurant during these times. Food is decent quality for a good price, fresh and great selection. Don't think I had anything bad here and I got a lot of stuff.
An average dim sum eatery. Quality is okay, not like the sit down traditional teahouse. For sure your in typical Asian hole-in-the-wall place. If you go here to pick up some food items, it's not quite the same as in SF... or even 99 Ranch, Dim Sum King, etc. I'd say just "okay", if you need something to satisfy your urge to eat dim sum.
The food is better at their Irving St. location in San Francisco. This location is convenient if you are in the area. My favorites are the egg rolls, fried wontons and porridge with the Chinese doughnut. On the weekends, expect to wait around 15-20 minutes during meal times as they are popular among the locals.
Great value! We popped in here while waiting for a table at Supreme Pot. The gentleman who served us was very patient explaining the pricing and dishes. We bought the usual suspects: rice rolls, shrimp & cilantro dumplings, Siu mai, sticky rice in lotus wrap, turnip cake. TBH, wasn’t expecting much but Wow! I’m writing this review the next day to make sure everyone knows how legit this place is! Amazing quality! All of that for ~$20! Will return next time I’m in the area!
Review only for their cilantro shrimp dumpling. Again another place I go to for this item only.
Social distancing at four customers in the shop. They have an assortment of things to purchase here.
What I love about their cilantro dumpling is they have water chestnut inside. Decently priced. If you need chopsticks or a container for sauce ask.
TC Pastry is no frills, but has great dim sum. I come here at least once every 2 weeks to buy sweet pasties, lotus buns, and egg tarts. They have great dim sum although service is subpar, but not really what you come here for.
Be better if can pay with credit card. Burmese restaurant next door is very tasty although rather expensive.
I came to order a list of 12 items. The order taker acted like they could remember them as long as I say it. Guess what, they missed three items. They kept asking if I needed any more of anything, but all I wanted was for them to get my order right. Their poor customer service never change. It's just getting worse. I guess you do get what you pay for. Worse of all, I just saw another non-asian get treated harshly. I don't think I need to say it, do I. This place is R*****!!!
