The George Inn's ability to cater to dog owners is seen as a positive aspect by some customers. A warm afternoon in the garden for the many long term friends of David Wright following his funeral at the neighbouring church.
The pub is a classic British country pub with great atmosphere. I noticed how popular it is for lunch, many full tables outside.
All the service was with a smile.
Sandwiches were delicious and so were the cakes.
Sorry but being discreet I’m not including photos of the guests.

Had a lovely lunch here today with my wife and daughter. Vegetable lasagne and Minute steak and chips were lovely. The landlord and landlady are lovely too.
I ate here with my family on a quiet Saturday night. The atmosphere was good with a quirky but traditional decor that made me feel like I was in a mirror maze. I ordered a Fish and chips with Mushy peas and having previously worked at a fish and chip van I tucked into my favourite meal. The food came out hot and in good timing but the batter wasn't the best, it could have been a lot crisper and the chips were tasty but should be named fries as they didn't seem thick or hand-cut. Great portion with a delicious pot of Mushy peas and tasty tartare sauce but I was expecting a little better for the price at £12.95.
The apple and pear crumble with custard was lovely and came out hot and crumbly as hoped.
Just popped in for a coffee. Warm atmosphere helped by an open fire and friendly staff. Typical olde-world country pub. Well worth a visit
Not great on the vegetarian options. Very friendly staff. A bit claustrophobic for my liking. Great that it's dog friendly but it does make it very crowded with pooches. Primarily a.locals' pub in my view. I did have a delicious vegetarian Sunday lunch last time I was there.
Really good Sunday lunch. Beef was beautifully cooked and served pink as requested. One of our party
ad the fish pie and thought it was excellent. Service was very friendly and efficient.
Thank you to all at the George.
Excellent atmosphere and. food made possible by owners and staff. Not surprised it was a full house. go again soonest.
Ordered a takeaway and by the time I drove there the order was nice and ready. The fish and chips were very large and delicious, the same with the beef burger in a brioche bun and Chips, the beef burger was grilled and cooked to a tee and piping hot. The prices I thought were reasonable, portions generous and the bar staff very attentive and friendly. The bar area has seating for meals and is still screened off for covid. It looks like a lovely typical local village pub and has a nice atmosphere. It's dog???? friendly too ????
