Quick Facts About The Hideaway Bynea Cafe

The Hideaway Bynea Cafe has received mostly positive comments from customers. Let's start with the strengths of the cafe.
One of the strengths of The Hideaway Bynea Cafe is the extensive menu and amazing flavors. Customers have mentioned that they have an extensive list of milkshake flavors, as well as a great selection of breakfast options. The food is described as tasting great, with one customer mentioning that it was the best tasting breakfast they have had locally and one of the top five they have ever had. This is a strong compliment and suggests that the cafe offers high-quality food.
Another strength mentioned is the friendly and helpful staff. Multiple customers have commented on the amazing staff, mentioning that they couldn't do more for you. This indicates that the staff provide excellent customer service, which is an important factor for many customers when choosing a cafe to visit.
The rustic and quirky decor is also mentioned as a strength of the cafe. Customers appreciate the unique and charming atmosphere of the cafe, which adds to their dining experience.
The cleanliness of the cafe is another positive aspect mentioned by customers. Having a clean environment is important for customers, as it contributes to the overall dining experience and helps them feel comfortable and satisfied with their visit.
Vegan options are also mentioned as a strength. Customers appreciate that the cafe offers vegan options, which shows that they cater to a variety of dietary preferences and offer inclusivity in their menu.
Now, let's move on to the weaknesses or areas that could be improved for The Hideaway Bynea Cafe.
One weakness mentioned is the issue with their phone system. A customer had trouble placing a large order because the phone's voicemail was full. When the customer went to the cafe in person to explain the issue, the staff seemed unaware of how to handle the situation. This suggests a lack of communication and organization within the cafe.
Another weakness is the long wait time for food. One customer mentioned waiting 20 minutes for their order, and another had to wait 25 minutes despite there being only a few other customers in the cafe. While fresh and cooked-to-order food is appreciated, a long wait time can be frustrating for customers, especially if it is not communicated effectively by the staff.
Customer service is mentioned as an area that could be improved. Some customers were not greeted or acknowledged when entering the cafe, which made them feel unwelcome. One customer also mentioned that the staff lacked friendliness, smiles, or apologies when addressing their concerns. Improving customer service and making customers feel welcome and valued is essential for creating a positive dining experience.
Portion sizes and presentation were also mentioned as weaknesses. One customer described their burger as sad-looking and barely lukewarm, with minimal toppings in the bun. Another mentioned a small portion of fries served in a miniature wire frying basket. Ensuring consistent portion sizes and improving the presentation of dishes can help enhance the overall dining experience for customers.
In conclusion, The Hideaway Bynea Cafe has several strengths that include an extensive and flavorful menu, friendly and helpful staff, rustic and quirky decor, cleanliness, and vegan options. However, there are areas that could be improved, such as addressing issues with the phone system, reducing wait times, improving customer service and communication, and enhancing portion sizes and presentation. By addressing these weaknesses, The Hideaway Bynea Cafe can further improve the overall dining experience for its customers.

Second visit now to this little cafe in Bynea! First was just coffee and this time with the kids for milkshakes ???? Such an extensive list, amazing flavours and massive (not a complaint ????). Staff are amazing and couldn’t do more for you! Have to try the food next. Thank you
Best tasting breakfast I’ve had locally and up there in the top five I’ve ever had (which bearing in mind I’ve had a lot of breakfasts in my time is a decent compliment!)
Everything fresh and cooked to order (which along with how busy they are does mean you won’t get your food quickly) but it’s definitely worth the wait.
The staff are all lovely, the decor is rustic and quirky (totally in a good way).
Definitely recommended!
Tried to call through a large order for work, but got a message about call minder full. Drove down to the cafe. Explained to the staff that the phone doesn't work. They just looked blank and said they didn't know how the phone worked. Had to wait 20 minutes to pick up my order. I had burned toast and burned vegan bacon
Went here for breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Eggs Benedict was great! There was a lot of water in one of the eggs, which exploded and messed up the taste of the sauce. But it happens ???? service was great. Staff were friendly and food was dishes out fast. The latte was to die for.
The good: vegan options, nice decor, and very clean.
The not so good:
When I arrived and stood at the counter to order, the lady behind the counter didn't say anything at all - no greeting, no "can I take your order" or even a smile. She looked very unhappy as though she didn't want to be there. The wifi wasn't working so maybe that's why she was unhappy but regardless, to not be greeted or even acknowledged is not good customer service and it made me feel unwelcome, as though I was an inconvenience to be there. The cook (I presume it was the cook) popped his head around the corner and just looked at me for a few seconds without saying anything (again, no greeting or smile) and then disappeared back around the corner - which seemed a bit odd.
I ordered a vegan burger with fries. There were sachets of condiments at the counter - I asked if they were free and the answer was yes so I picked up some sachets but when I sat down at a table there were already lots of condiment sachets on the table - why couldn't I have been told there were already condiments on the tables? A small thing, but anyhow...
Despite there being only six other diners (one of whom had just finished eating, one was already eating, and the other four were waiting for their meals to arrive), it was 25 minutes before my meal arrived. I understand that food is cooked fresh but that's an extremely long time for a very dinky portion of fries and a simple burger in a bun with a bit of 'salad' when there were only four other people waiting for their meals. After waiting for for almost 25 minutes I politely asked the lady if my meal would be ready soon and she replied (again with no friendliness, smile or apology) that the three people on the table beside mine were just about to be served and "yours will be next".
In comparison, I often eat at Venezias Cafe in Llanelli (in Seaside) where the staff are always immediately friendly, welcoming, and seem genuinely happy to serve people. I usually order a breakfast that comprises several more items than what I ordered at the Hideaway and even when they're full of diners, I've never had to wait more than 6-7 minutes for my meal - all of which is cooked fresh and the portions are a good size.
The meal at the Hideaway comprised a very small portion of fries served in a miniature wire frying basket, the saddest looking burger I've ever seen, and 'salad' that comprised 98% iceberg lettuce. Although the miniature portion of fries was piping hot, the burger was barely lukewarm. It was inside a bun which was creased and flattened, and looked like it had been sat on. There was nothing else in the bun - so sauce, salad, or anything - just the burger. The burger's flavour was not bad but it was not pleasant to eat because it was almost cold. The 'salad' comprised about three large handfuls of shredded iceberg lettuce (which was crunchy and fresh), but then only two extremely thin half slices of tomato (so thin they were almost transparent), about 6 tiny cubes (smaller than dice) of cucumber (I've never seen cucumber sliced into tiny cubes before as opposed to round slices), and a small sprinkling of little squares of red onion.
In summary, it was an extremely disappointing visit - particularly because of the very long, unnecessary wait and the complete lack of friendly customer service. It's a shame because the decor is very nice, the tables aren't too close together, and the cafe is very clean.
First time I've tried this little gem, food was really tasty, well presented and, not the cheapest but will go again. Really nice staff very polite and service fast and friendly.
Nice surprise.
Visited by chance as my car was being fixed down the road and garage recommended I stop here while I waited as needed somewhere where I could work.
It looks dull and grey on the outside, but vibrant and nice decor inside. Ladies serving were friendly and said it was fine to work while I waited; gave me the WiFi password.
Food choices looked really good for breakfast, and food I saw served looked great. I'd already eaten so just had drinks.
Will definitely have to return to try it. Glad I found it.
What a great gem of a cafe. Loved the quirky decor, and so nice and clean. The food was delicious, with an excellent choice of breakfasts or build your own, and to top it all, the staff were really lovely and helpful. Would definitely recommend this cafe and will definitely be returning.
