Quick Facts About The Plough

The Plough Place has several strengths that make it a popular and enjoyable pub. One of its main strengths lies in the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by the landlady and staff. Multiple comments highlight the friendliness of the staff members, stating that they were greeted warmly and received excellent service. This positive customer service contributes to a pleasant experience for patrons.
Another strength of The Plough Place is the quality of the food and drink. Several comments mention the great selection of beers and ales available, as well as the tasty food. One reviewer even states that they ate at the pub two nights in a row because the food was so good. Portion sizes are described as generous, and the prices are deemed reasonable. These factors contribute to a satisfying dining experience for customers.
The pub's cleanliness and attractive décor are also highlighted as strengths. Comments mention that the pub is immaculate, both inside and out. The exterior is described as beautifully painted, creating an inviting appearance. Inside, the pub features old beamed interiors that add character and charm. The cleanliness of the toilets is also specifically mentioned, indicating that attention to detail is taken in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the establishment.
Another strength of The Plough Place is its ability to cater to different types of events or parties. One reviewer mentions that they efficiently catered to a wedding anniversary party and a children's party at the same time with limited staff. This suggests that the pub is flexible and capable of providing a positive experience for different types of gatherings.
The pub's location and outdoor seating area are also assets. It is described as a lovely local village pub, offering a beautiful view from the ample seating available outside. This appeals to customers who enjoy outdoor dining or simply want to enjoy the scenery while having a drink or meal.
While The Plough Place has received mostly positive comments, there are a few potential weaknesses to consider. One commenter mentions that the pub primarily offers bitters as their ale selection, which may not appeal to customers who prefer other types of beer. Additionally, a reviewer mentions that they did not eat at the pub due to the early hour, indicating that the availability of food may be limited during certain times of the day.
Another potential weakness is the mention of the pub being busy or limited in terms of staff. While it is commendable that the staff efficiently catered to multiple parties, this could suggest that service times may be affected during busy periods. It is important for the pub to ensure that they have adequate staff to handle customer demand and maintain a high level of service.
In conclusion, The Plough Place has several strengths that contribute to its appeal as a pub. These include its friendly and welcoming atmosphere, quality food and drink, cleanliness and attractive decor, ability to cater to different events, and its location and outdoor seating area. While there are a few potential weaknesses, such as a limited beer selection and potential service issues during busy periods, overall, The Plough Place appears to be a highly recommended and enjoyable establishment.

Best TL Reviews

Called in to this delightful pub for a drink by the cosy open fire yesterday and we were not disappointed. Very friendly landlady and a great pint. The place is immaculate. Beautifully painted outside, wonderful old beamed interior and spotless toilets. Didn't eat as it was early but would think the food is great.
Nice pub with great food and several ales (nearly all bitters). And ageing reminiscing (and good humoured) locals in the bar where we were seated! Good service. Good value. Good choice (Sunday lunch).
One of the few 'proper pubs' around. It's an absolute pleasure from the time you pull up in the car park, go into this historic public house, be greeted by the lovely staff then have a proper selection of beers, wines and spirits to choose from. Enjoy a meal from the excellent menu where the meals are plentiful and sensibly priced. There is ample seating outside with a beautiful view. Enjoy.

They catered for a wedding anniversary party and childrens party at the same time very efficiently with limited staff. Great experience.
