Quick Facts About The Richmond Street Deli

The Richmond Street Deli has received a mix of positive and negative comments, which highlight both its strengths and weaknesses. Below, I will analyze these comments to provide a comprehensive understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the deli.
Starting with the strengths, one customer raved about the food, stating that it was the best they have ever had. They specifically mentioned the dirty fries and how generous the portion was. Another customer also praised the menu options, mentioning the haggis, brie, and cranberry wrap, which they found to be tasty and served in generous portions. These positive comments indicate that the deli has a strong menu selection and delivers delicious food.
In terms of weaknesses, one major issue that emerged from the comments is the poor customer service. Multiple customers mentioned that the staff members were rude and unpleasant to talk to. One customer even described their attitude as "appalling" and another mentioned a lack of professionalism. The negative experiences with staff members also extended to the phone service, with one customer reporting being hung up on multiple times and another being yelled at by a staff member. These incidents highlight a significant weakness in the deli's customer service, which can greatly impact the overall dining experience.
Another weakness brought up by customers is the confusion surrounding the menu. One customer mentioned that the menu on the chalkboard was hard to understand. This lack of clarity could potentially deter customers from making informed choices about their orders and may result in disappointment if the order does not meet their expectations.
The comment regarding the deli not providing tap water, which is a legal requirement in Scotland, is another notable weakness. This failure to adhere to legal regulations can create a negative impression among customers and potentially discourage them from visiting the deli.
Moving on to the strengths again, several customers were satisfied with the speed of the service. They mentioned that the food came out quickly, indicating efficient service. This strength shows that the deli can handle a high volume of customers and deliver their orders promptly.
Lastly, an aspect that received mixed feedback is the deli's ambiance. One customer described it as trendy and enjoyed the atmosphere, while another customer mentioned that the deli did not feel like a proper deli but more like a fast food place. This mixed feedback suggests that the ambiance may appeal to some customers while not meeting the expectations of others.
In conclusion, The Richmond Street Deli has several strengths, including delicious food, generous portions, and efficient service. However, it also has notable weaknesses, such as poor customer service, a confusing menu, and failure to provide tap water. Addressing these weaknesses can significantly improve the overall experience at the deli and attract more customers.

Best TL Reviews

The food itself was nice, I would rate 4 stars. Took a while to come out. The place isn't really a deli, more of fast food place. I found the menu on the chalkboard hard to understand. The server, I assume one of the owners, was pretty miserable and short with me. They do not provide tap water, which is a legal requirement in Scotland!
WOW wow wowsers. Probably the best food I have ever put in my mouth ????????. Dirty fries. What a portion. I'd give 6 stars if I could. I shall return. Hopefully soon.
Absolutely horrific service, they don't deserve to be in business. I called this morning to place an order for 6 people. I asked what the special was and after she told me (very abruptly) she hung up on me. I called back and started to place my order and when I asked a simple question she was rude again and hung up again! I called back a third time to ask why she hung up and she was extremely hostile and denied it and shouted down the phone at me. I work in a big office close by and several colleagues have had very poor service also. A shame as the one time I have been the food was good. They have lost a lot of business after today. I would score 0 if I could.
Veggies beware! Asked for veggie soup & was told the soup was veggie- cream of tomato. When i went to eat it, no spoon so i gulped some down only to discover it had sausage in it! Pretty gross for someone who hasn't eaten pork for decades. After asking what they had that was veggie- why would they not check the ingredients? Not great customer service.
Unfortunately I won’t be using this place again. Whilst the food is good, the attitude of the staff is appalling. They are very unpleasant to talk to and their customer service over the phone is shocking. I’d heard many negative things about the attitudes of staff members before deciding to try them myself and make my own opinion. I found them to be unfriendly on walk in service and they were extremely rude to a friend of mine who tried to place an order on the phone. Complete lack of professionalism.
So many options to choose from! Ordered a haggis, brie and cranberry wrap and I wasn't disappointed. Homemade coleslaw was also a big hit and the salad was great too. Super tasty and very generously portioned! Service was fast too.
I have an egg allergy. I asked for a Reuben sandwich minus the mayo coleslaw. Service was refused - apparently it would "take away from" or "change" the sandwich, i don't remember exactly what. I insisted it was for allergy reasons and was still refused. I was offered the alternative of building a "custom" sandwich, but it would have cost more.
Long story short, this place doesn't care about your allergies, and if you dare have one they expect you to pay more.
Arrogant, self absorbed, rude.
Message to the owners: Its a sandwich. Not haute cuisine. Get over yourself.
Excellent local place to get something to eat. Trendy atmosphere. Good food. Can understand why it's popular.
