Quick Facts About The Rose Salterne - JD Wetherspoons
The Rose Salterne, a JD Wetherspoons place, has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, one customer mentioned that the food was above the standard for Wetherspoons. They were impressed with the quick service and the fact that the food was hot and didn't have to wait too long. Another customer, who had been to the pub multiple times, also noted that the food was of good quality and value for money. They enjoyed their meals and drinks, both the adults and the children.
Additionally, the staff at The Rose Salterne were praised in some of the comments. One customer mentioned that Abbie, one of the staff members, was lovely and swiftly cleaned their table upon arrival. The staff were described as amazing and helpful, especially when assisting an elderly customer who was confused at the tills.
The pricing of the food and drinks at The Rose Salterne was also seen as a positive aspect by one customer. They mentioned that for the price, one can't really complain. This suggests that the pub offers affordable options.
However, there are also weaknesses that were pointed out. Multiple customers mentioned that the cleanliness of the pub was an issue. One customer noted that the pub was dirty when they first walked in, while another mentioned that the chairs and carpets could do with a deep clean. Although the staff were friendly and helpful, the cleanliness aspect seemed to be inconsistent.
Another weakness mentioned was the availability of menu items. One customer noticed that several items were out of stock, including common items like Gammon steak, ham, egg, and chips. This may be seen as a negative point as it limits the choices available to customers.
Some customers also highlighted issues with the seating arrangement and social distancing measures. One customer mentioned that the tables were almost touching each other, with only about 30-50cm of separation between tables. This could be seen as a weakness, especially for customers who are still concerned about COVID-19 and the need for physical distancing.
In conclusion, The Rose Salterne has some notable strengths, including above-average food quality, friendly and helpful staff, and affordable pricing. However, there are also weaknesses, such as cleanliness issues, limited menu availability, and potentially inadequate social distancing measures. Hammer coole
Reasonably OK but lots of menu items were out of stock even common stuff like Gammon steak, ham, egg and chips....
Plus some table were taped off with yellow and black tape as they were broken or something - not sure how as they looked OK.
Plus if you are still worried about covid their tables were almost touching each other - separation from the 4 people sat at the next table was only about 30cm to 50cm - very cramped.
Food was OK though - it took double the estimated 20 minutes to arrive when ordered via the app although the drinks were delivered promptly.
Not brilliant - but not bad either.
Pub was very dirty when we first walked in, however it was quite clearly a packed pub with not enough bar staff on. Abbie was lovely and swiftly cleaned up our table for us upon arrival and aided my elderly mother when she was confused at the tills. All the staff were amazing, once we were able to find them! The food was above standard for wetherspoons, I'll definitely be returning, hopefully with more staff on next time!
Food was quick and exactly the normal wetherspoons standards. Not the prettiest spoons I've been too but burger was cooked well.
For the price, you can't really moan!
You know what your getting with spoons, we had 7 meals in total. With quite prompt service, and food that was whole hearted. Both us adults & Children enjoyed our meal and drinks.
First time I have eaten here and I was quite impressed. The food was hot and didn't have to wait too long. The portion size was plenty for us and the value for money was also very good. Also very importantly the place was clean, as was the cutlery. I will definitely eat here again.
Update: been here many times since my first review and am still going back, it's not as clean as it once was, the chairs and carpets could do with a deep clean and we sometimes have to ask for new cutlery, but the staff are always helpful. Like most wetherspoons you know what to expect and the prices are competitive.
First time in this pub. Went in for lunch . Had the steak pudding with mash and peas. The mash was so overcooked that I had to cut it with a knife. The steak pudding wasn't the biggest but it was fine. The staff seemed friendly and the pub looked clean but busy.
Great little spoons. Nice and quiet of an evening which is nice as you can actually drink and have a chat prior to the loud the music and fun the evening will bring. Staff are helpful and it's reasonably clean too.
