Quick Facts About Tips & Toes
Tips & Toes is a nail salon that has received mixed reviews from customers. While some customers have had positive experiences, citing excellent customer service and skilled technicians, others have had negative experiences, including rushed service, poor quality work, and disrespectful treatment. In order to provide a comprehensive analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of Tips & Toes, these comments will be examined in detail.
Starting with the strengths, one customer mentioned being greeted with awesome customer service during their first visit. This indicates that Tips & Toes is capable of providing a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers. Additionally, another customer praised the pedicure they received, stating that it was the best they had in a long time. This suggests that there are skilled technicians working at the salon who are capable of providing high-quality services.
Another strength mentioned by a customer is the availability of Venmo/Zelle payment options. This shows that Tips & Toes is keeping up with modern payment methods and provides convenience for customers who prefer these options.
Moving on to the weaknesses, several customers expressed dissatisfaction with the rushed service they received. One customer mentioned that their nails were not filed or buffed properly and were snagging their hair and clothing. Another customer mentioned that their manicure turned out thick and messy, as if a toddler had done it. These comments indicate a lack of attention to detail and a rushed approach to service. This could be a weak point for Tips & Toes as it suggests a lack of consistency in the quality of work provided.
Additionally, the comments reveal instances of poor customer service and disrespectful treatment. Some customers mentioned interactions with nail technicians who were rude, dismissive, and unwilling to accommodate their requests. One customer even mentioned being snapped at and having their belongings thrown at them. Such behavior is unprofessional and can create a negative experience for customers.
Moreover, there are accusations of racism and discrimination made against Tips & Toes in the comments. One customer mentioned feeling unwelcome and overcharged due to the color of their skin. Another customer commented on instances of racism and discrimination in other reviews they read. These allegations, if true, reflect poorly on the salon and indicate a lack of inclusivity and respect for all customers.
Lastly, there was a complaint from a customer whose wife is handicapped. They claimed that Tips & Toes knew about her disability but still charged her the full amount without applying a gift card credit. When the issue was raised with the owner, they were met with unresponsiveness and unavailability. This suggests a lack of customer care and a failure to rectify mistakes or accommodate special circumstances.
In conclusion, Tips & Toes has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. While there are positive aspects such as good customer service and skilled technicians, there are also weaknesses in terms of rushed service, poor quality work, and disrespectful treatment reported by some customers. Additionally, accusations of racism, discrimination, and poor handling of customer concerns raise concerns about inclusivity and customer care. These weaknesses may need to be addressed in order for Tips & Toes to improve and provide a satisfactory experience for all customers.

Today was my 3rd time visiting this location. The first time I was greeted with awesome customer service! The second time I was rushed and today’s visit was worse! Kelly is very well known because she is typically good at her craft however when she rushes it leaves her full sets a mess! My nails were not filed or buffed the way they needed to be. They were snagging my hair and clothing. I made an appointment with another nail salon to fix what Kelly messed up! I will not be back to visit…. My advice to Kelly is to be consistent with all of your clients with each visit!
No-chip manicure turned out ok, tech charged extra for matte finish, which I didn’t realize until I left. The gentleman who did my pedicure was amazing!! Best pedi I’ve had in a long time!! The nail tech kept chatting aloud, I can’t stand the language barrier, I think it is rude for the techs to talk amongst themselves in another language. I did like that they offer Venmo/Zelle payment option, which is a plus. I probably won’t return, but worth the try. I’ve been looking for a new place.
I just got a manicure there and I have never been more disappointed. She was so rushed. The nail polish was applied so thick and won’t dry. It looks like a toddler painted my nails. She filed them into oblivion and I all I have are nubs left. I will never go back there again and I suggest you don’t waste your time and money either.
I came in JUST for a fill, I had 2 acrylics nails missing so the nail tech insisted I do the full set. Whatever, fine, I had all the time in the world and didn’t mind starting fresh. (I did not ask for nail tech’s name, but she was a little older with short brown hair. Her station is in the middle of the section)
They were not busy and there was no wait, so I had no idea why she was in such a rush as she began aggressively ripping off the acrylics off my nails. I respectfully told her she causing me pain MULTIPLE times and I did get visibility upset when I noticed some of my natural nails were ripped and all of them severely damaged as a result. I politely requested if we could soak the last three left because I did not want her to rip the rest of them off.
She continued to rush through, cut them too short when I asked for the original length. I asked for an almond shape, but was left with pointy nails that were all different shapes. At this point, I asked her to please be careful because my nails were ripped. Instead of being empathetic or apologetic, she snapped at me to move to the other table to be taken care of by someone else. Which was totally fine with me until she picked up my belongings and threw my car keys at me.
At this point, I was so upset I asked them to stop, I paid for my little sisters pedicure done by someone else, which was done very well so this review is not a reflection of that service.
They did not apologize or even offer to make it right. I have never gone out of my way to write a negative review for any business. I have been to Tips and Toes before every now and then, and never had any complaints, my sister comes here biweekly - so for me to have the experience that I just had here is mind boggling and we are happy to take our business elsewhere - where they listen to clients when they tell them they are hurting them/causing pain or treat them with respect. It is going to take my nails weeks or even months to recover from the damage she did to them. This was NO way to treat a customer. Do better.
I’ve been getting my nails done biweekly for over 15 years and this is honestly the worst salon I’ve ever been to. The nail tech was so rude. I was having trouble choosing a color and the nail tech agreed to help me. That was very much an empty promise. When it came time for her to show me colors she demanded that I go with the color she chose for me. I asked to go over to the polish wall to look at colors. When I rose from my seat I was demanded to sit down. I’d understand if they were busy, but there was only one customer in the store besides me. While washing my nails after finishing the polish started coming off, and I confronted the nail tech. She said “ It’s only polish on your hand are you crazy?”. After the services they asked what I thought and very politely I told them it was terrible service. I was overcharged as well. When i expressed my disdain for services the nail techs started laughing and talking ill about me in their native language in front of my face. When I went to my car I noticed my nails were crooked and none of them the same length. I went back in and told them this was unacceptable and said it needed to be fixed. I did not tip, and this is the first time I’ve never not tipped at a salon. I will not and refuse to tip a woman who humiliated me the entire time I paid her for a pampering service. If I could go back in time I would’ve refused to pay $60 ( which is overpriced for what I received. I normally get my nails done in Chicago and it’s not even this steep.) Upon reading reviews I’ve seen claims that this shop displays racism. I’m a biracial person who physically presents as Hispanic. I noticed that there was a white customer in the store who was treated drastically different throughout her experience. I will be in touch with the manager and if this business is BBB accredited I fully intend on filing a formalized report. In addition, I saw that this place recently discriminated against a woman with a disability. My account is not the only experience of racism in this shop if you read reviews. So please ask yourself before patronizing DO YOU REALLY WANT TO SUPPORT A BUSINESS WHO IS NOT INCLUSIVE TO ALL?
The lady kept stabbing me with her nails and she was squeezing my hand when getting my nails done and I spent 80$ and got a crooked nail And the lady does not know how to apply the dip powder and I did not even get what I asked for
My wife is handicapped and she went to this place for two services. Her total was $68 and she paid with credit card and a $40 gift card. They
knew she was handicapped but charged her $68 with no gift card credit.
I talked to the owner twice and both times he told me he wood make it good.
I made two trips to see him and both times he was not there. After
screaming at me by four oriental girls I left and told them I would never return. They took advantage of my wife's handicap and refused to make
things right. I would encourage everyone to stay away. If a problem comes up they will not honor it!
If you are a person of color sadly, this might not be the place for you to get your nails done. The technician made it clear that the color of my skin wasn’t welcomed and she overcharged me. I was so disappointed at how she did my nails. When I asked her to fix them. She said, “go wash your hands, you will be ok”. I just paid and will never go back. God help this world!
