Quick Facts About Underwood Youth Complex

The Underwood Youth Complex has received both positive and negative feedback in the comments provided. In order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the complex, let's analyze the comments in detail.
Starting with the positive aspects, one commenter mentions that the complex has 6 fields and paved walkways between them. This indicates that there is ample space for multiple games to be played simultaneously and that movement between fields is easy and convenient. Furthermore, the presence of covered picnic tables is praised as they provide shelter and comfort for visitors on hot days.
Another positive aspect highlighted is the parking lot, particularly the availability of handicap spaces near the fence openings. However, it is also mentioned that there should be more handicap spaces, specifically wider spots for vans with side-entry ramps. Additionally, the comment suggests that these spaces should be at the front of the parking lot for better accessibility. This indicates that while there are some accommodations for disabled individuals, there is room for improvement in terms of the number and location of handicap spaces.
The accessibility for wheelchairs is mentioned favorably in a separate comment. It is noted that there are multiple sets of handicapped parking spots with space for vans to deploy ramps, as well as concrete ramps and sidewalks connecting the fields. The commenter emphasizes that navigating the park with a wheelchair is relatively easy, even over short stretches of packed sand or grass. This demonstrates a commitment to providing accessible facilities for individuals with disabilities.
Another positive aspect highlighted is the cleanliness and stock of the bathrooms, as well as the friendliness and prompt service at the concessions. Additionally, the presence of covered seating in at least two areas is praised for providing shelter from the elements and a comfortable place to eat. These amenities contribute to the overall positive experience for visitors attending games and events.
On the other hand, there are some negative comments that point out weaknesses in the complex. One commenter expresses frustration with the scheduling of games, stating that different teams received different schedules, leading to last-minute cancellations and changes. This suggests poor organization and communication from the complex's management. Another commenter complains about rigged teams and the lack of a draft, which they perceive as unfair. They also criticize the state of the bathrooms, mentioning that they are always inadequately stocked and unpleasant to use. Additionally, the lighting is described as being so poor that visibility is a problem. These negative aspects reflect issues with the management, team organization, and maintenance of the facilities.
In terms of general feedback, one comment mentions that while the complex may need some updating, it is still easy to find and provides an enjoyable experience for watching children play sports. This indicates that although there may be some shortcomings in terms of aesthetics or infrastructure, it is still a functional and enjoyable facility.
Lastly, a comment mentions that Underwood has played a significant role in shaping their child's character through teaching respect, morals, and sportsmanship. This positive testimonial highlights the impact the complex has had on the development of young athletes and implies that it is a positive and nurturing environment.
In summary, the strengths of the Underwood Youth Complex include the availability of multiple fields, paved walkways, covered picnic tables, and accessible facilities for individuals with disabilities. However, there are weaknesses in terms of the organization of games, team selection, bathroom cleanliness and maintenance, and the adequacy of lighting. Overall, while the complex has some positive aspects, there are areas in need of improvement to enhance the experience for visitors and participants.

Best TL Reviews

This is a very nice complex, with 6 fields and paved walkways between fields. The concession building is easy to access, and the covered picnic tables are great on a hot day.
There is a large, paved, parking lot with handicap spaces near the fence openings.
From a ♿️ perspective, there should be more handicap spaces, AND some of those should be wide enough for a van with a side-entry ramp (and labeled for vans). These should be at the front of the parking lot, as the handicap spaces at the opening to field 6 are on a hill, making it extremely difficult to get a wheelchair out and in of said vehicle. Sufficient signage would also be nice, as non-handicapped do not seem to think twice about parking halfway into the lined area.

I really enjoy when the girls play at this park. The bathrooms are very clean (the 2 pics are from the middle of the 2nd game on a busy night!), and well stocked. Concessions has a decent offering (standard for a ball park), but most of all they are very friendly, AND prompt.
I also love that there is covered seating (picnic tables) in at least 2 places, offering shelter from the sun (or rain) as well as a comfortable place to eat (especially good when you need to feed young kids)
What I love most about this field though, is its accessibility for wheelchairs. There are no less than 3 sets of handicapped parking spots (with enough space for vans to deploy a ramp), with 3 concrete ramps leading from the parking spots to the fields. Also, there are concrete sidewalks throughout the park, connecting the fields. I have had to push my daughter no more than about 10' or 15' on well packed sand or grass, to get her to the fence where she can see. Even with my own lower back issues, this has not been at all difficult.
In terms of consideration for the handicapped, this park gets 5 stards!!!

So since no one else around my area is having fall ball besides underwood, I went ahead and signed my son up here again. Unfortunately we are having issues once again. Although the teams aren't as rigged as they were last year, each team in our league received different schedules which makes absolutely no sense because why wouldn't they make only ONE schedule and then send the same one out to each coach. Anyways, rather than fixing the issue many of our games are being canceled last minute or the times and days are changing. The president clearly does not care. This place is just absolutely ridiculous.
This place has went down over the past few years. The teams are rigged. We unfortunately had to play here this season due to central not having enough to sign up. They skipped a draft this season, not sure why because a draft is only fair. They put ALL the best players on one team and all the average/newbies on the other. Sadly, our team doesnt stand a chance. Its pathetic. It's almost as if we are playing a travel ball team. Which wouldnt surprise me. I really advise you to sign up else where. Not to mention their bathrooms are DISGUSTING and are never stocked and the lighting is so bad you can't even see when your in the stall. Get it together Underwood.
Could use a little updating, but it's easy to find, easy to get in and out, and so much fun to watch the kids and grandkids play ball!
This place has been a huge part of who my son is today this was for last year and I'm so sad and so appreciative. If you have a child and ball , underwood is the place to have them, we tried a couple of other complexes and always came back to Underwood they not only teach ball, they teach respect and morals and sportsmanship. Thank you Underwood we're going to miss you
It's ok. The bathrooms are disgusting and its dusty, gravelly, and basically in disrepair. But, it's a ballfield, so what should we expect? Florence is much nicer.
It would be nice if the scoreboard would be used during ballgames, especially when people have to pay admission
Good place for children. When the older ones are playing ball the little ones have room to ride bikes scooters or push their bany dolls in strollers.
