Quick Facts About Uptown Hair Studio
Uptown Hair Studio, based on the comments provided, has several strengths. Firstly, many customers have been using the salon's services for years, which indicates a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Customers specifically mention that they always receive great haircuts, colorings, and highlights, highlighting the skill and expertise of the stylists at Uptown Hair Studio. Additionally, the staff is described as friendly and caring, creating a welcoming and laid-back atmosphere for clients.
Another strength of Uptown Hair Studio is their fair prices. Many customers mention that the salon's prices are reasonable, especially in comparison to salons located south of Dayton. This affordability may attract a wider range of customers and contribute to the salon's popularity.
Furthermore, Uptown Hair Studio is praised for its community involvement. Customers appreciate the salon's support for those starting out in the industry, as well as their involvement in the surrounding community and schools. This shows a commitment to not only providing excellent hair services but also contributing positively to the local community.
There are also several weaknesses that can be identified from the comments. One customer recounts a negative experience where there was a miscommunication between the stylist and the customer. The stylist seemed to misunderstand the customer's hair color needs, resulting in a confusing and uncomfortable experience for the customer. The customer also mentions that the stylist was rude, which further adds to the negative impression of the salon. This incident highlights a potential weakness in communication and customer service skills within the salon.
Additionally, another customer expresses dissatisfaction with the end result of their haircut and the overall vibe of the salon. They mention that the stylist did not seem knowledgeable about the best approach to cutting their friend's mixed-texture hair, leading to an undesirable outcome. The customer also indicates that their own hair was cut shorter than requested and did not resemble the reference provided. This suggests a lack of attention to detail and precision in the styling process, which could be seen as a weakness for customers with specific style preferences.
Furthermore, this customer feels rushed during their appointment, with the stylist pressing them to finish quickly. This rushed experience may have contributed to the stylist's oversight in not straightening the friend's hair and failing to provide the full services paid for. This reflects a potential weakness in time management and attention to individual customer needs.
In conclusion, Uptown Hair Studio receives praise for its skilled stylists, outstanding service, fair prices, and community involvement. These strengths contribute to its positive reputation and loyal customer base. However, weaknesses related to miscommunication, lack of attention to detail, rushed appointments, and a potentially negative atmosphere are areas for improvement. By addressing these weaknesses, Uptown Hair Studio can continue to build on its strengths and provide an even better experience for its customers.

I have been getting my hair cut, colored & highlighted at Uptown Salon for years. Susie usually does my hair, but they all do a Great job!
I've used Uptown's various services and purchased hair care products from them for over 17 yrs. I highly recommend them.
It is a laid back atmosphere. The owners, general manager and the rest of the stylists care about all the clients. The staff is friendly.
Prices are fair, especially when comparing them to salons south of Dayton.
They are great about supporting the industry (those starting out) and the surrounding community and schools.
I’ve been here twice for two men’s haircuts and I’m never going anywhere else again! Very professional and accommodating.
Always get great colorings and haircuts. The owners are really nice and helpful. I love this place. Everyone is so nice from stylists to check out staff. Go give them a try I did and I stayed a client.
this happened a couple months ago but i didn't really understand what was happening until recently. when i went in, i had a solid blonde halo around my whole head (pics show what it looked like when i first got it). it had been 10 weeks since i got it done, so my roots had grown out quite a bit. i wanted my roots touched up and the blonde dyed red and then i wanted a trim. i told all this to the stylist and made sure to show her the underside of my hair so she could see what i had going on clearly. she asked if the bleach was applied on the roots, to which i said yes. she then asked if it was weaved. i asked what she meant twice so she asked if they used foils. i said yes and then she said my roots weren't long enough, that she wouldn't be able to do it right, that she didn't want to go to the roots because "that's not what this is" whatever that meant. she just kept repeating that, kind of rudely until i got up and left. she didn't even cut my hair. i didn't realize until recently after learning a little more about hair that she most likely somehow thought i had highlights???? even though i clearly didn't and she should have been able to see that when she looked at my hair. overall a very weird experience. i understand miscommunications happen but she was still rude and i don't think it was really my fault that i didn't realize what she thought was going on because i'm not the professional ????
I come here to get my eyebrows waxed and tinted by Tina. I’ve known Tina for several years now, she also does waxing. I have had my hair cut there also, but I prefer to just have my brows taken care of here. Tina is great, she’s the best, and have been coming here for years.
3 kids cuts and my 2 daughters have very long hair....$43. Back home that's easily $75. The people were very friendly and were great with the kids. I came here 30 years ago or so when I lived here and had hair. It was clean and efficient.
I'm just really not happy how my hair turned out. The vibe was weird from the beginning. Myself and my friend made an appointment to get our hair cut and she wanted her hair straightened also. When she booked the appointment she told the lady exactly that. When we got there my friend went first she is mixed so she has textured hair that is sometimes hard to tame thats why she wanted a straightening and a trim she goes back to get her hair cut and the lady is asking me if it's better to cut her hair dry or wet and I said I don't know but it gets super curly wet. You would think the stylist thats about to cut her hair would know whether to cut ir dry or wet. While the lady was cutting her hair someone else is washing mine and I've never had such a rough hair wash at a salon before I couldn't wait for it to stop. After I'm done I walk over to my friend and it literally looks like she got a bowl cut and wasn't happy. After seeing my friend and her reaction you would think I would change my mind but no I let the same lady do my hair and now it's way shorter than what I asked and looks nothing like the reference I gave her. One side is choppy and the other side has no layers and just looks weird. While cutting my hair she was also rushing me because my friend and I were talking about getting our nails done but the nail salon was about to close so she's like well you better start leaving soon and we kept telling her it was alright and there's no need to rush all the rushing had her forget to straighten my friends hair and we just ended up paying over 80 dollars for services that didn't turn out how we hopped and services we never received.
