Quick Facts About Afros & Fades
Afros & Fades is a barbershop that has received a mix of positive and negative comments. In order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the place, it is important to analyze the comments provided.
One strength that is consistently mentioned is the talent and expertise of the barbers. Multiple customers highlight the skill of the barbers and how they have been coming to the shop for years. This indicates that the barbers at Afros & Fades have built a reputation for their ability to give high-quality haircuts. This is essential for any barbershop as the skill and craftsmanship of the barbers are central to the customer's satisfaction.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the ease of booking appointments. One customer suggests using a barber/barbershop app to book directly with the desired barber. This convenience allows customers to secure a time slot with their preferred barber and reduces the chances of long waits or not being able to get a haircut when desired. This feature can contribute to a positive customer experience and demonstrates that the barbershop is adapting to modern technology.
Additionally, some customers mention the friendly and courteous nature of the barbers. They appreciate the conversation and good humor that can be found at Afros & Fades. This creates a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere for customers and contributes to the overall positive experience. The sense of community and camaraderie that customers experience at the barbershop is an important aspect for many people when choosing where to get their haircuts.
On the other hand, there are also several weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One recurring issue is the long wait times. Some customers express frustration with the amount of time they had to wait before getting their haircut. This can be inconvenient, especially for individuals with busy schedules. Long wait times can negatively impact the customer experience and may discourage potential customers from returning.
Another weakness that arises in the comments is the inconsistent quality of haircuts. One customer mentions receiving a bad haircut and questions the barber's skill level. This inconsistency can be problematic for a barbershop as it can damage their reputation and make customers hesitant to return. Providing consistent, high-quality haircuts is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction.
Another major weakness mentioned in one of the comments is regarding a specific negative experience. A customer describes encountering an unprofessional and abusive barber who refused to adjust his behavior when asked politely. This incident not only impacted the individual's experience negatively but also exposed potential issues with the management and culture of the barbershop. Allowing such behavior to occur without intervention from other barbers or the manager is a serious concern that must be addressed promptly to ensure the comfort and safety of customers.
In conclusion, Afros & Fades has several strengths including talented barbers, convenient appointment booking, and a friendly atmosphere. However, there are weaknesses such as long wait times, inconsistency in haircut quality, and instances of unprofessional behavior that need to be addressed and improved upon. By addressing and rectifying these weaknesses, Afros & Fades can enhance the overall customer experience and reputation of the barbershop.
Best TL Reviews
Want a great experience? Do these 3 things: CHECK PRICES BEFOREHAND, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, & BE ON TIME! This place is amazing and the barbers are incredibly talented. I've been coming for years and it seems to me people who leave bad reviews typically don't do at very least 2 of the 3 actions above that would prevent a less than stellar experience.
Get a barber/barbershop app, like The Cut, on your phone and book directly with your barber. I go with Mitch from Afros & Fades 'cause he's one of the best barbers in the LA area period.
My son's barber was very good. He took his time and gave him a good haircut for the school year.
Poor experience. Long wait and got a bad haircut. Don’t think barber had the skill to get hair.
"L" was cool, I called early in the morning for a same day haircut, he told me to come in and he would take care of my sons haircut. When we got there it was a few minute wait but then he took care of him right away. He asked how I wanted the haircut and did it the way I asked. I appreciate his time and work. We will go back. Thank you!
Kind of the old school barbershop vibe. Good conversation ranging from , religion to politics to sport and beyond. Always good for a good belly laugh.
Marco and Jermaine (co-owners) are great people and excellent barbers. Been going to them for over 20 years even before they opened Afros & Fades.
Great girl cut!! Love my hair. Did wait for a minute because I did not note that I was a walk in. But the owner Jermaine apologized for the error. Was very friendly and immediately escorted me to an open barber Richard. Who did an excellent job - best cut I've had in a while. Will certainly continue to go there again.
I drove about 20 miles to get a nice hair cut at a black barbershop being that there aren't any in my area. I haven't had the best experience at black barbershops because of the customer service, but I give every place a fair shot. Most readers already know what I mean. Anyways, I wasn't greeted (typical I know) but it gets worse. I was treated as if it was my privilege to be served there (typical I know) but it gets worse. I was cut by the barber at the end on the left hand side. I had a headache that day and the barber was talking very loudly behind me, making it worse. I simply asked him if he could bring it down a bit. I got cursed out, threatened, and retaliated against. He said "No one tells me what to do". He rushed through the cut, edging me up all rough, while going back and forth with me because he angry about my request. Usually if you're providing a service, you want to make your client feel as comfortable as possible. I wasn't asking for wine and a massage, I was just asking the barber to bring the yelling down a bit because I had a headache. The saddest part is that I was blantantly being disrespected by this barber and none of the other barbers checked him, they just offered me their cards on the low, and the manager apologized and offered me a discount after cut was over, but said nothing while this was happening. It's clear that they put up with this unprofessional and abusive conduct because the manager said it happened to someone else too. Discounts and down low apologies aren't the solution. This barber needs to be removed from that shop or other new customers who spend their hard earned money on a cut may run the risk of dealing with innapropriate/abusive behavior and substandard service. Absolute worst experience at a barbershop. Never going back.
The barbers are courteous, give expert great service. If you need a cut come in and see them.
