I am adding an update because it has been a year and Shantell is my regular stylist. She does a fabulous job cutting and coloring my hair. I still think everyone should hurry and make an appointment with her, you won’t regret it.

I was tired of the constant root touch ups so I popped into Hair Play for some advice... the best thing I’ve done in a while!!! The knowledge and advice was stupendous! I knew I was in the right place as soon as they started checking the condition and grade of my hair! Amanda Davis did the full on fouls and cut and style and took her time to reassure me that I was in good hands! You get her undivided attention! The girls are all so friendly! You feel welcome and right at home!

I had been a client for a couple of years, brought in a few new customers one from my hometown of VA. Beach. I really loved how my stylist cut and colored my hair and tipped accordingly. I called to make an appointment with her about 6 months ago, and she was very disrespectful, she thought she had put me on hold, however she did not and I got an earful of how she really felt......very rude, very immature.....if she did not want to do my hair just say so and I will gladly take my business elsewhere.....and I did reach out to the owner Joy in a message on there website....never heard back... Very disturbing.
I am the owner at HairPlay salon. I am also a stylist there. The salon has a fantastic atmosphere. We have 9 stylist who have all been well trained and continually take time to educate themselves further in the latest styles, colors, trends, and techniques. All of us have a passion for hair and a loving heart for our clients and business. We aim to please all of our Clients and take time to get to personally know all of them. They become a extended part of our family. As I look through some of these reviews I’m happy and proud of my salon and staff, but there are a few that upset me. As I look at the reviews that are not so good I notice that none of these people have contacted me personally to discuss these matters. I would hope if your experience was bad you would have contacted me to discuss and get to the bottom of each situation. So we can make things right or your experience better. We are a small business and reputation is everything. This is our future and how we provide for our families and make a living. I would hope before you post any reviews that you would allow us to correct any issues and learn from our experiences.
This salon has been such a blessing to me. Meredith really takes the time to know me and my hair and since I'm a person that changes my hair often she always goes through each process with me before she does anything. I appreciate the attention to detail so much. I love my hair and fully trust Meredith with my thick precious mane! I love the atmosphere of this salon, it usually just feels like having coffee with friends. I live in Durham and it's worth the drive!!
I get my hair done by Amanda and she is a fabulous colorist.
And the atmosphere at Hairplay is wonderful. Clean. Beautifully decorated. Very comfortable atmosphere.
I can only say good things about HairPlay Salon. I've been going to Paula for years and she's always taken good care of me. I think she's the only person that's ever been able to cut my curly hair properly. All the girls there are super nice.
