Quick Facts About Hyung-Je Barber Shop
Hyung-Je Barber Shop, based on the comments provided, has several strengths and weaknesses. We will highlight and analyze each aspect to give a comprehensive view of the barber shop.
One of the notable strengths of Hyung-Je Barber Shop is its affordability. Many customers praised the reasonable prices, with a men's haircut costing $14 or $16. This attracts customers who are looking for quality haircuts without breaking the bank. Additionally, the service provides value for money, as several customers mentioned that they received excellent haircuts for the price they paid.
Another strength is the friendly and patient service provided by the barbers. Customers mentioned that the barbers were approachable, friendly, and willing to fix any haircut issues. This creates a positive and comfortable environment for customers, which encourages loyalty and repeat visits. Furthermore, the barbers' patience was well-received, particularly in handling young children who may be scared or difficult during haircuts. The ability to work well with children is a crucial skill for a barber shop, as it helps attract and retain family customers.
The barber's attention to detail and ability to execute specific haircut requests is another strength of Hyung-Je Barber Shop. Customers mentioned that the barbers were able to understand their desired hairstyles based on pictures and deliver the expected results. This attention to detail ensures customer satisfaction and builds trust in the barbers' abilities.
However, there are several weaknesses that should be addressed by Hyung-Je Barber Shop. One major weakness is the long waiting time. Several customers mentioned wait times of up to 2-3 hours, with even longer waits during holidays. This extended waiting period can deter potential customers, especially those with busy schedules or limited time. Implementing a reservation system or finding ways to reduce wait times would greatly improve the overall customer experience.
Related to the long wait times is the inability to make appointments. As mentioned in one of the comments, the shop operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, which can be inconvenient for customers who prefer to plan ahead or have a specific time slot in mind. Introducing an appointment system, even for a limited number of slots, could help manage customer expectations and reduce wait times.
Another weakness highlighted in the comments is the inconsistency in service quality. Some customers mentioned a decline in service quality as the shop became more popular. This inconsistency can negatively impact customer loyalty and satisfaction. Ensuring consistent service quality should be a priority for the barber shop to maintain a positive reputation.
Furthermore, language barriers were mentioned as a weakness by a few customers. It was noted that one barber's English skills were not very strong, which may hinder effective communication, particularly for customers with specific and detailed requests. Providing language training or hiring multilingual staff could address this weakness and enhance the overall customer experience.
In conclusion, Hyung-Je Barber Shop has several strengths, including affordability, friendly service, attention to detail, and patience when working with children. However, the weaknesses such as long wait times, inability to make appointments, inconsistency in service quality, and language barriers should be addressed to improve the overall customer experience. By addressing these weaknesses, the barber shop can build upon its strengths and continue to attract and retain a diverse range of customers.

I had a haircut in Germany for 140 Euros which was messed up.
Glad I came here for a haircut for 14 dollars. The barber was super nice and friendly and fixed my haircut. The waiting time was 1-2 hours but definitely worth it as the barber didn't take anything less than perfection. Again, super friendly the entire time.
My son (4yrs.) is very scared to get his haircut so I was hesitant to take him to this place and let me say it was definitely worth it. The barber was very patient, fast and precise throughout the whole time and my little one, sat there without kicking and screaming. It was an amazing experience. We will definitely be coming here for his haircut.
Good service with reasonable price.
But, it doesn't arrowed make an appointment. Fist comes first serve.
Sometimes, you might be waiting more than 2 hours.
Initially, I was really hesitant to write this review because I was a client of theirs for nearly two years, and they were amazing when I first started with them, but I felt like the quality of their service has gone down since they became more popular.
Mr. Jeon Taeguk was a really good barber. His English is not very good, but I was able to communicate to him what I wanted to have done. I was growing my hair longer and went to him for my maintenance cuts so I could still look presentable in public. I told him exactly what I wanted because I studied the hairstyle beforehand. Use #2 guard on the side, don't touch the back side, only trim the ends off of the top hairs. Then I show him a picture of the hairstyle, which gives context to what I just told him. In the end, I was always satisfied with his work. He was able to perfectly execute the hairstyle I show him in pictures.
The other barber is not bad, and his English is better so I was able to more comfortably communicate with him, but he's VERY hyper, so my hair ends up being cut so roughly when I go to him. He also seems to like to over-correct himself to the point where he cuts off so much more hair than I request him to. When my hair was finally long enough to sport the hairstyle I wanted, I went to him, and showed him a picture of the hairstyle (which was essentially just a cleaned up version of my present hair). I explained to him that I just wanted the sides to be razored short, and to have the ends trimmed. He seemed so set at the fact that my hair was so long, that he instead cut two inches off my bangs, and nearly cut off the entirety of my hair at the back. In other words, he cut off 5 months worth of hair growth, and made my hair look awkward, and it was just in time for the holidays when the temperature is about to sink, and when people are taking lots of pictures. Even my coworkers looked at my hair weird and told me that it wasn't very evenly cut. On my first day back to work since that cut, I was so embarrassed to face my clients, which caused me more stress and insecurity.
The wait time is very long. I used to be able to walk in, sit and wait for one or two customers to finish, then it was my turn. They eventually started using numbered paper because their clientele got bigger, and they had to keep track of the wait list. But the wait list now gets too long that I now have to wait between 2 to 3 hours to be seated at the barber's chair, 5 hours when there's a holiday coming up. Last time was busy because there was a holiday. I got my number at 10AM, and wasn't called to the chair until about 3PM. I was willing to wait that long because I know what they are capable of, but I wasn't very happy with my most recent experiences with them.
I'll be switching barbers so I can grow my hair back properly.
Awesome haircut for $16! Careful attention to detail and very friendly. I am quite picky with my haircuts, but these brothers know what they are doing. Just bring a picture of a haircut you like and show them before they start cutting. The wait is like 30 min or so, when not busy, but we’ll worth it! I would go back for sure.
Great, inexpensive hair cuts !!!
$14 for a men’s hair cut
I’ve been here 5 times and each time I get an excellent hair cut.
It’s run by two oriental brothers. Both of them give excellent fades and undercuts.
At the end of your hair cut, they offer a complimentary vacuum suction cleaning of all those pesky annoying little leftover hairs that typically remain all over your head and face and neck.
Meticulous barbers, expect the hair cut to last 30+ mins even for a fade. Wait can be up to 2 hrs. Calculate each person ahead of you as 30 mins. No reservations must be in person to get a number. Tip: come grab a number and plan to go run errands while waiting or it'll be a waste of time.
