Quick Facts About Julia's Taqueria

Julia's Taqueria place has received mostly positive comments, with customers praising the authenticity and deliciousness of the food, as well as the friendly and quick service. However, there are also a few mentions of the food not being as flavorful as expected or not meeting certain expectations.
One of the strengths of Julia's Taqueria is its authenticity. Many customers appreciate that the food at this Mexican restaurant is not the typical "white people" Mexican food, but rather genuine Mexican cuisine. The el pastor, carne asada, and lingua tacos are mentioned as being delicious, juicy, and full of flavor. Customers who have lived in San Diego and Tijuana, known for their authentic Mexican food, have expressed their surprise and delight at finding that same level of authenticity in Laurel, MS.
Another key strength of Julia's Taqueria is the quality of the food. Customers have consistently mentioned that the food is always hot and brought out quickly. The queso dip is praised as the best in town, highlighting the high quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs. The mention of some dishes, such as carnitas and al pastor quesadillas, being absolutely delicious further reinforces the high quality of the food at this establishment.
The friendly and welcoming staff is also a strength of Julia's Taqueria. Multiple comments mention the great service, with staff members attending to customers well and being very friendly. This positive customer service experience adds to the overall enjoyment of dining at the restaurant.
The reasonable prices at Julia's Taqueria are another strength. One comment specifically mentions that the prices are reasonable, which can be an important factor for customers when deciding where to dine. Offering tasty and authentic Mexican food at affordable prices can attract a broader customer base.
However, there are also a few weaknesses that can be seen from the comments. One customer mentioned that the flavor of the food was not what they were used to or expected, particularly when it came to the carne al pastor. This indicates that the flavor profiles of the dishes might not be consistent with everyone's preferences. Another comment states that the taste of the food was okay, but not exceptional, implying that some dishes might not stand out in terms of flavor.
One potential weakness that is highlighted is the signage. One customer mentions that the "Taqueria" signage is small and might not be easily understood by people in the area. They suggest adding signage on the roof that clearly states "AUTHENTIC STREET TACOS" to attract more customers. This suggests that the restaurant might not be getting as much visibility as it could, potentially affecting its customer base.
In conclusion, Julia's Taqueria is generally well-regarded for its authenticity, high-quality food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. However, there are some minor weaknesses, including the potential inconsistency in flavor and the need for more prominent signage. Overall, the strengths of the restaurant seem to outweigh the weaknesses, making it a recommended place for those looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in Laurel, MS.

Been searching for authentic tacos down here and am so happy I have found this place! Not “white people” Mexican food. Just saying, most you know what I mean. Anyway, delicious el pastor, carne Asada and lingua tacos. Juicy and flavorful! Highly recommend, I will be back
Great Mexican restaurant! Authentic high quality Mexican food. Food is always hot and brought out quickly. They have the best queso dip in town!
I didn't love it but it was ok. I've gone to another Mexican restaurant that had flavors that I absolutely love. We all have different tease buds. You may like it. Like I said it isn't bad but I just didn't feel like it was flavorful and the flavor on the carne al pastor wasn't at all like what I'm used to. I love the service though. They attend you well and are very friendly. They place was lovely. You might want to give it a try. I only went once and I only got the carne al pastor. So there could possibly be something else I could like but carne al pastor is my favorite and this place didn't have what I expected. Give it a try. They might have something you like. They are very nice people. Great service.
After living in San Diego California for over a decade and having the pleasure of eating authentic Mexican food in both San Diego and Tijuana MX, I never imagined I’d find that same authenticity in Laurel, MS but this place has it. Some of the best tacos and asada burritos I’ve ever had — right here in Laurel. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
Wish I had known about this place sooner but never really noticed it. I think the ‘Taqueria’ signage is a little small and many people may not understand that term down here in the south. Perhaps some signage on the roof that yells ‘AUTHENTIC STREET TACOS’ would have clued me in a little sooner ;) Regardless, I’m glad I’ve found this little gem, can’t wait to get takeout from them again very soon. They also have a nice restaurant area if you’d like to dine in. Try this place out, you can’t go wrong, I highly recommend the El Pastor and Asada Tacos or Asada Burrito!
Several of us went to Julia's Bakery for lunch. They serve authentic Mexican food. I ordered 3 tacos - carnitas (slow cooked pulled pork) on a corn/maiz soft shell, a side of rice and beans, and a sweet tea. Just look at that pic of the tacos. Makes me hungry again. The service was friendly, quick and our food arrived hot and tasty. I like the fact they have 3 or 4 different levels of heat in their salsas, from mild to much hotter (picante). Prices are reasonable. Definitely recommended.
Best tacos in the state. The carnitas are absolutely delicious!! Great food. Great staff. Feels like I’m eating at grandmas honestly.
Holy smokes!!! Authentic Mexican homestyle goodness in small town Mississippi!!!
Don't you dare miss this tiny little gem
Food I've been searching for for years!!
We had Al Pastor quesadillas, Carne aside tacos, and tres leches cake afterwards ????
Best Mexican food in town. It’s authentic and delicious. Everything is great!
