Krakus is a nice place in Wallington, NJ, that serves really good Polish food. I recently went there and people working there were friendly and helpful. For my main dish, I had a Chicken Cutlet. It was juicy and had a crispy outside, and came with soft mashed potatoes and cooked vegetables. I enjoyed it a lot. After my meal, I had blintzes for dessert. They were thin, filled with sweet cheese, and tasted great. The flavors went well together and made me feel happy. If you want to try some good Polish food in Wallington, NJ, you should go to Krakus. It's a great spot for anyone eating alone or with others.
Had a dinner celebration for 15 people. The meals tasted like homemade. Everyone enjoyed themselves and I would recommend this restaurant for authentic Polish food.
Also, the people that work there are honest. I left a $100 deposit prior to the day of dinner celebration and forgot about it the day of the dinner. The chef/owner called me back that same night letting me know that the $100 was not deducted on bill and to come back anytime to get the $100. Good food, good karma, and wait staff is also professional.
We decided to try Krakus Restaurant for lunch. It is a true authentic Polish-Americans restaurant. This family owned restaurant was in operation for sixteen years with Mom working in the kitchen and daughter waiting the tables. When we entered we were promptly greeted and seated. The restaurant is clean and spacious because of covid. There already was a lunch crowd. All appeared to be attend. When we ordered our drinks they were promptly served. Our waitress took our order of tomato and Zurek soups, pierogie, Polish sampler, and Hungarian goulash. The soups were served hot large bowls. Both were rich in taste. Next came the pierogi. A dozen pierogie of 6 potato and cheese and six sauerkraut and mushroom with sauteed bacon. Next came the Polish sampler consisting of, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, hunter stew/bigos, pierogie, potato pancakes. It was served with plenty of sour cream and apple sauce. Try adding sugar to them for a tasty variation. The potato pancakes were crispy and thin for another delicious treat. The potato pancakes were fried but, not oily or greasy just right. This plate is more than enough for two had we known we would not order the other dish. Now the Hungarian goulash was served with perfect curbed beef in a sauce between two potato pancakes like a sandwich. You get two sandwiches. I thought the beef was overcooked because of the small pieces of beef. I would recommend a larger pieces of beef. Prices were reasonable and service was attentive and courteous. There is street parking and they do have a private parking lot. It's worth a trip. Oh and yes, they have a liquor license with a large selection of Polish beers.
Great polish food for lunch or dinner! Great soups along with great dinner plates and selection of pierogi
Great selection of Polish cuisine. We arrived without reservations, but were served a great meal. There were two large groups they were already taking care of. Large portions of delicious food. Good selection of Polish beer. Highly recommended.
Amazing food. I haven't had pierogi's that good in over 20 years - I got 1/2 sauerkraut and 1/2 potato - delicious fillings. The others at my table got stuffed cabbage, which they thought was delectable. The soup, bread and cucumber salad was also very good. Reasonable price too and a very nice server. Thank you. I highly recommend Krakus Restaurant if you would like some good traditional home cooked polish food!
