Quick Facts About Leatha's Barbeque

Strengths: 1. Authentic and delicious BBQ: Multiple comments mention that the food at Leatha's Barbeque is excellent and one of the best BBQ places in the area. The ribs and steaks are particularly praised for being tender, juicy, and flavorful. 2. Clean and neat atmosphere: One comment mentions that the restaurant was neat and clean, which contributes to a positive dining experience. 3. Freshly made sides: A customer shares that the sides, such as cole slaw, potato salad, and beans, are made fresh every day. This shows attention to detail and a commitment to quality. 4. Friendly staff: A customer mentions that the people at Leatha's Barbeque are friendly, which adds to the overall positive experience.
Weaknesses: 1. Limited side options: One customer expresses disappointment with the lack of cole slaw as one of the side options. This suggests that the restaurant may have a limited selection of sides and may not always have all options available. 2. Inconsistent quality of fries: A customer states that the fries at Leatha's Barbeque were of varying sizes and some pieces were undercooked. This inconsistency in quality detracts from the overall dining experience. 3. Limited drink selection: One comment mentions that there was no Coke Zero available, with only Diet Coke and a few other sugar-based choices. This limits the beverage options for customers who may have specific preferences. 4. Lack of lunch rush: Despite positive comments about the food, one customer mentions that there were only three customers during their visit. This suggests that the restaurant may not be attracting a large lunch crowd, which could potentially be a weakness in terms of business volume. 5. Disappointing sausage: A customer states that the sausage at Leatha's Barbeque was the worst they've ever had from a BBQ joint. This negative feedback regarding a specific menu item indicates that the quality of certain dishes may be inconsistent. 6. Service could be improved: One comment mentions that the service at Leatha's Barbeque is not that great. The specific issues with service are not stated, but this feedback suggests that there may be areas for improvement in terms of customer service.
In conclusion, Leatha's Barbeque has several strengths, including delicious and authentic BBQ, a clean atmosphere, freshly made sides, and friendly staff. However, there are also several weaknesses to consider, such as limited side options, inconsistent quality of fries, limited drink selection, a lack of lunch rush, disappointing sausage, and room for improvement in customer service.

Best TL Reviews

Sehr leckeres Essen. Authentischer geht es kaum. Von außen betrachten braucht es für das ungeübte Auge etwas Überwindung. Aber hier gibt es wohl eins der besten BBQ weit und breit

My wife and I went there about 11:30. There was no one in the place, but there were a couple of drive through vehicles. The place was neat and clean. The service was good. Order at the counter and it was served at the table in Styrofoam boxes with plastic forks. I wanted cole slaw as one of my sides, but there was none. When it is the beginning of the day for a restaurant with few sides on the menu, they should all be there to be ordered. None were that exotic. The potato salad was as good as I ever had anywhere in a restaurant. Most of the time it is not worth eating. This was uniquely excellent. The fries were various sizes. The larger pieces were under cooked. Overall, the fries were poor. The ribs were very good. The ribs were as good as I have had, but not really better than the best in my experience. My favorite drink, Coke Zero, was not available there, only Diet Coke and a few other sugar based choices. We took water. It was a generally good experience, except for the fries and soft drink selection.
OMG!!! The food AMAZING! I know their specialty is BBQ but I wanted to try the steak because of the reviews. So, we had the steaks for our entrees which were perfectly cooked to our liking. They were tender and juicy with the right amount of seasoning. We also got some barbecue plates to go for dinner the next day but of course we had to get a taste before putting them in the fridge and the ribs are phenomenal also. The sides are made fresh everyday. So fresh that we had to wait for them to make our potato salad. If you're in the Hattiesburg area just stop by. The people are friendly and the food is good.
I loved it. Excellent BBQ, and why wouldn't it be? Voted the best place in Mississippi like, 1000 times!
So disappointed. I've been looking forward to visiting Leatha's for the past year and it just isn't good. I've seen them on a couple different tv shows and normally that means the food is legit. Maybe they've just gone downhill? I dunno. The 4.5 rating they have on Google must be based on their past because what we had today was bad.
Cole slaw and potato salad are decent. No real complaints there. The cole slaw is mustard based and may not be for everyone, but it isn't bad at all. The ribs were just...meh. Absolutely slathered in BBQ sauce that is very, very sweet. I'm guessing brown sugar and molasses and not much else. The ribs were overcooked and devoid of any smoke flavor. Sausage was the worst sausage I've ever had from a BBQ joint. I took one bite and shoved it to the middle of the table. You can get better sausage from WalMart and just throw it in the microwave. It was terrible.
There should've been a lunch rush. There were a total of 3 customers the entire time we were there. There are so many better options in Hattiesburg/Petal.
I was visiting from Birmingham. A friend at the High School Championship recommended this plate. Grab a carry out plate. The food was so good. I surely will be back. :) The meat was so tender ribs and chicken hidden underneath. Definitely a return spot for me on my next visit to Harrisburg.
The potato wedge "fries" were interesting but I liked them. Sauce was great, ribs were juicy. Baked beans were good.
Food was awesome. So tender and so flavorful. I dont normally like Cole slaw, but there's is awesome. Also good potato salad and beans. But... the service is not that great.
