Extremely rude staff. I called to cancel an appointment (due to not having babysitting) I scheduled for early morning and couldn't reach anyone. Theresa called to confirm and asked "why would you make an appointment then," and hung up. I completely understand last minute cancellations as I am never one to not make it to an appointment, especially one I'm paying a lot of money for. But it's the quality of the work that brings me down to Portland, living an hour away. But this is not the first time I've experienced attitude from the staff (except one young lady who sits in the middle & is always bubbly). Unfortunately I will never go back and I would not recommend to anyone. For the higher prices, you'd think the customer service would be top notch. Disappointed.
Q gives one of the best manicure/pedicure I’ve ever had. I’ve never had a manicure last as long as his. Highly recommend. He is kind, skilled, and fast
I love them!! As long as I'm in Maine I will never go anywhere else. They are all good but Michael especially does amazing work, double checks that everything is even and perfect and makes sure they will last. The salon itself is clean and nice. I highly recommend them!
Very rude! I called for the first time to make an appointment with Linda, and instead of woking with me on a day and time, she told me to "just come in and have someone else do it"... great way to gain customers!! After she told me that, I tried telling her that I would like to get my nails done with her, yet she refused to schedule anything with me and told me to walk in and have anyone available to do my nails.
I have got my nails done here before unfortunately I had to call to reschedule due to a blizzard and poor road conditions considering I travel from over an hour away to get my nails done. Lady was extremely rude and I was hung up on…. I called multiple times after trying to get through to someone to simply reschedule and got hung up on again. I have never had such a rude experience. If you don’t want my money for a service that’s fine I’ll go somewhere that is understanding and treats clients properly.
I have been to this nail salon several times and had excellent service. My most recent visit was horrible...nail tech had attitude and did a horrible job. My nails looked like they were already 2 weeks old after 5 days! Nails are sticky and far from my nail bed. Like the shop but not the lady who did my nails.
Every time I read a negative review of Magic Nails, I am honestly surprised. I have been going there for about 3 years, and would not go anywhere else. My nails are gorgeous every time, the price is fair, and the people who work there are professional and friendly (even when I have personally witnessed people being rude to them).
I think if you use common sense and all-around basic human decency you will have a fine time at Magic Nails. For example - if you don't want to have to wait for a walk-in appointment, make any appointment first. If something isn't going right with your appointment, say something. Every time that I have been there when some kind of error has occurred, the employee has been more than willing to fix it.
Also - take into consideration that silence from your nail tech while they do your nails isn't rude - it may be that a) some people like a quiet nail experience so perhaps the nail tech doesn't want to ruin that for you or b) realize that maybe the person doing your nails doesn't know English well enough to have a long conversation.
In my experience, doing these things (also known as things a considerate person should do for an appointment at any establishment in general) and not being an ass result in a pleasant appointment, every time.
