Quick Facts About My Shiny Nails
My Shiny Nails Place has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. On one hand, there are positive reviews highlighting the great service, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. However, there are also negative reviews that mention long wait times, poor quality of service, and issues with communication and professionalism.
One strength of My Shiny Nails Place is their customer service, as several comments mention the staff being friendly and sweet. This creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for customers, making them more likely to return. Additionally, the reasonable prices mentioned in one of the comments are another strength, as customers appreciate affordable services.
The salon's ability to accommodate walk-ins, as mentioned by one reviewer, is also a positive aspect. This shows flexibility and convenience for those who may not have made an appointment in advance. Furthermore, the inclusion of extra services like hot stone massages and hot towels in a basic pedicure, as mentioned by another reviewer, adds value to the customer experience.
However, there are several weaknesses that need to be addressed. One recurring issue is the long wait times, such as the customer who waited nearly three hours for her appointment. This indicates a lack of efficiency and time management, which can lead to frustration for customers who have other commitments or simply do not want to spend excessive time at the salon.
Another major weakness is the poor quality of service. The comments mentioning bleeding, nails not lasting, and poorly done manicures suggest a lack of skill and attention to detail. Customers visit a salon to receive professional services and expect high-quality results. If the salon fails to deliver on this aspect, it will struggle to retain customers and build a positive reputation.
Communication issues are also a recurring theme. One customer mentioned feeling ignored and frustrated when the staff spoke in Vietnamese and pointed at her while discussing her concerns. Effective communication is key to understanding and meeting customer expectations, and it is important for the salon to ensure all customers feel valued and heard.
Furthermore, professionalism is lacking in some instances. The comment about a staff member asking for payment mid-service suggests a lack of trust or a misunderstanding of standard business practices. Additionally, the incident with a loud conversation on speakerphone during a service, as mentioned in another comment, shows a lack of consideration for other customers' experiences. These instances can create an uncomfortable environment and leave a negative impression.
In terms of location, while the salon's proximity to downtown Phoenix may be convenient for some, it is also mentioned that the salon was far for those who live off Grant Road. This indicates that the salon may not be easily accessible for everyone, which can limit their potential customer base.
In conclusion, while My Shiny Nails Place has strengths such as friendly staff, reasonable prices, and the ability to cater to walk-in customers, there are also significant weaknesses that need to be addressed. These include long wait times, poor quality of service, communication issues, professionalism concerns, and potentially limited accessibility. By addressing and improving these areas, the salon can work towards providing a better overall experience for their customers.

I just moved to Phoenix and was looking for a new salon. I tried this one because it was somewhat near downtown Phoenix. SO many things went wrong. First of all, I got there for my 10:30 am appointment at 10:15. I didn’t leave until 1 pm. It took that long. My biggest complaints are that when the lady first took the drill to the dip I had done from my last salon, she cut me and poured some liquid in it despite me telling her not to. The dip was done poorly and you can see right through my nails as shown in the pictures here. Then, when I went to pay, they told me to pay $10 more than what I was quoted at the beginning of the appointment because my nails are long. I initially asked for a light pink color and found a dip color I liked. They didn’t tell me they didn’t have a matching color for my toes, so they just picked a random pink and I had to find a different pink dip color for my nails to match my toes. It doesn’t help that every time I said something they would speak in Vietnamese and point at me.
Great service, fast and friendly! They stay busy so make an appt if possible but I got lucky coming in early as a walk-in, they were able to squeeze my gel mani in. Kim is so sweet and the French tip is just how I like it - thick ! They have cold water bottles too.
Nails didn’t even last 30 mins.
My left middle finger was bleeding.
Also, mid doing them she asked me to pay now as if I was going to walk off on the tab. First I thought maybe this is how they do service until I seen people pay AFTER they were serviced.
Coming from nail spot far from my home, I live off grant, they we’re off bell rd and 50 th street….they were good but highly priced, and a long drive out. I’m very consistent and the 1st time I went Kim did my nails and I’ve been consistently with her. This small place gets packed, I’m sure everyone is equally good. Kim is great,Nails lasted long, and were extremely well done. My daughter got her nails done too they were perfect. This is my new home nail salon. Did I mention nicely priced??
The experience was great. The staff is very nice. Although I appreciate they took their time doing the service I did wait a while to get the service started.
Also, there was a really obnoxious person there that thought that having an out loud conversation on speakerphone was appropriate for the entire duration of her service. I know that sometimes folks don't want to engage but I really feel like someone should have told her to get off the phone or at least take it off speakerphone.
Went in as a walkin and there was no one waiting just some one already getting a pedicure. One of the girls asked what I wanted and I said, a pedicure. She said of course let me set up the water take off your shoes and sit here the water is filling. So I did. Only after I had taken off my shoes and put my feet in the water did she ask me leave. She tells me I'm sorry you have to leave we have appointments. Only AFTER she watched me take my shoes and leg brace off and put my feet in the water did she ask me to leave. Basic buisness practice/human decency would have been to say from the start I'm sorry we have appointments and can't accept walk-ins right now. It was embarrassing to have to ask for a towel then to put my leg brace on while everyone was starring at me due to the attention they directed at me. I won't be going back
I got a pedicure here and it looks great. :) The basic pedicure is $23. That included a hot stone massage and a hot towel. The employees were friendly and the place looked pretty clean. I will definitely go back.
Honestly they were very sweet and great customer service but the quality of the manicure was horrible even had them redo it with a different product and it was very spotty didnt go to the edges not even in a straight line. And left 30 minutes ago and already coming off. Not happy. Also more expensive than my favorite place.
