Quick Facts About Old Mission Barber-Stylists
Old Mission Barber-Stylists is a popular place for affordable regulation haircuts, particularly for military individuals. The staff is known for being personable and providing a high quality of service. One customer highly recommends the shop as an alternative to the long wait and low quality haircuts found in the PX.
A notable strength of Old Mission Barber-Stylists is their ability to meet customer preferences without asking for specific instructions. One customer appreciated that they did not ask for the number razor and still delivered a great haircut. This indicates that the staff is experienced and skilled in their craft, able to provide satisfactory results without relying on the customer's input.
Another strength of Old Mission Barber-Stylists is their ability to fulfill specific haircut requests. A customer mentioned that they requested a high fade and it was exactly what they wanted. This showcases the barbers' ability to understand customer expectations and deliver accordingly. Additionally, the customer appreciated the use of compressed air to blow off clippings, finding it amusing but effective.
Affordability is another strength of Old Mission Barber-Stylists. A customer mentioned that $20 is a fair price for a great haircut and service. Price is often a deciding factor for customers, and the shop's reasonable rates make it an attractive option for those looking for quality haircuts within a certain budget.
However, Old Mission Barber-Stylists is not without its weaknesses. One customer complained about the lack of efficiency when it comes to time management. They had contacted the shop to set an appointment but were informed that only walk-ins were accepted. When they arrived at the shop at opening time, they found that the barber was already cutting someone's hair and there was a significant wait time. This suggests that the staff may not have effective scheduling or prioritization processes in place.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer is inconsistency in the quality of haircuts. They mentioned that the last two visits were abysmal, with the barbers not following their instructions properly. This indicates a lack of attention to detail and inconsistency in the skills of the barbers. Additionally, the customer noted that the prices have increased while the quality has decreased, indicating a drop in value for money.
Another weakness highlighted by a customer is the inability of a new barber to meet their specific haircut preference. They asked for a trim but ended up with almost 5 inches cut off, resulting in a bad haircut. This suggests a lack of communication and understanding between the customer and the new barber, which can be frustrating for clients.
Despite these weaknesses, Old Mission Barber-Stylists still has some positive remarks. One customer mentioned that even though there might be a wait, it is still a good time and the service is always great. This suggests that despite any issues with time management, the staff is still able to provide a pleasant and enjoyable experience for customers.
In conclusion, Old Mission Barber-Stylists has strengths such as affordable regulation haircuts, personable staff, and the ability to deliver satisfying haircuts without asking for specific instructions. However, weaknesses include inefficiency in time management, inconsistency in the quality of haircuts, and difficulties in meeting specific customer preferences. Overall, the shop provides a mixed experience for customers, with some finding it highly recommendable while others have had negative experiences.

Great, affordable regulation haircuts for military and very personable staff. It’s easy to get in on Sunday so it’s a perfect alternative to a long wait, low quality PX haircut! Highly recommend!
Good cut. I hate when most places ask "what number razor?" They did not ask that and did a great job.
Asked for high fade and this is the first time that it is exactly like I want it. Excellent! The compressed air to blow off the clippings is kind of funny. Price is great, I thought 20 bucks is a fair price for a great cut and service.
If you value your time don't go here. I contacted the location to set an appointment. The person said only walk-ins. Fine, I asked what the typical wait was first thing when he opened on Saturday. He said he is open at 9 and it is usually widely available. So I drive 6 miles/15 min from North Oceanside. I arrive at 9 on the dot. He is already cutting someone's hair with 4 people sitting in the lobby. Guess what, not getting a haircut without a 1 hour to 90-minute wait. Total waste of gas and money. If you can't get an appointment book by now, wow is all I can say. If you can waste time I am sure you will get an efficient waste of it there.
Great haircut for a great price-point. I've gotten my hair cut by a different barber every time I've gone (5 times now) and have never been disappointed. The guy who cut my hair yesterday gave me the best haircut I've had in a number of years and he had decent stuff to talk about as well. I wish I could remember his name in order to directly compliment him.
As someone who has grown and maintained a full beard over the course of the covid pandemic the ability to get a beard trim here helps me a lot (and it's just a small fee added on to any cut I get). I really prefer to have my beard trimmed and shaped by someone besides myself because it's a similar idea as cutting your own hair - meaning that it's easy to wind up unintentionally taking too much off. Just getting it taken care of along with a haircut is worth every penny.
This used to be a great place to go for a haircut with 2 guys who knew what they were doing. The last two times (and I won't be going back) were abysmal. Apparently they no longer have ears even though it appears they have the physical apparatus. Asked for a #2 with a guard (which means put a guard on the blade!), both times they didn't. Prices went up and the value went dramatically down.
New guy can’t cut hair. I asked for a but off the trim off the top and he cut almost 5 inches. Since I had long hair it made it look bad because I wanted to keep it long but he cut it way too short. Don’t recommend getting your hair cut by the new guy.
What can i change on my review...always great service! Even waiting its a good time.
