4. Quick availability: One customer mentioned that they were able to get an appointment at short notice. This shows that the salon is efficient in managing their appointments and can cater to customers who need immediate service.
Weaknesses:
1. Dishonest pricing practices: Multiple customers mentioned that the salon quoted one price before starting the service, but then changed it after completion. This is a significant weakness, as it indicates a lack of transparency and honesty in their business practices.
2. Inconsistent service: Customers have mentioned instances where their appointments were given away or their hair was not properly dyed. These incidents point to a lack of consistency and professionalism in delivering services to customers.
3. Uncomfortably tight braids: Several customers complained about the tightness of the braids. This suggests that the stylists may not take into consideration the comfort and well-being of their clients, potentially causing pain and discomfort.
4. Burned extensions: Another complaint mentioned that the stylist burned the extensions during the braiding process. This shows a lack of attention to detail and proper technique, which can result in damaged hair.
5. Poor customer service and communication: Customers have described instances where they experienced rudeness, long wait times, and miscommunication from the staff. These factors significantly impact the overall customer experience and may make clients reluctant to return.
Based on the comments, the strengths of Penda African Hair Braiding Place include their ability to produce good results, the kindness and accommodation of their staff, and the cleanliness of their salon. However, the weaknesses lie in their dishonest pricing practices, inconsistent service, uncomfortable braiding techniques, mistakes such as burning extensions, and poor customer service and communication.
To improve, Penda African Hair Braiding Place should focus on being transparent and upfront about their pricing, ensuring consistency in service quality, addressing comfort concerns, providing proper training for their stylists to avoid mistakes, and improving their customer service and communication skills. These improvements would greatly enhance the overall customer experience and reputation of the salon.

The lady did a pretty good job on my sister, but she completely switched up the price after she finished braiding a relative's hair. Be upfront and don’t lie!
You really lost three potential clients.
Penda/Roots mediocre at best, dishonest sales practices. They’ll quote one price before they start and then another after. Knotless braids feel like regular way to tight. They’ll do what they feel and charge you more in the end. Wolves in sheep’s clothing
ZERO STARS
Loved the results of my hair! Thanks to Lala :) it was exactly a 5 hour process, but I LOVE it! She did her thing! 8/15/22
Worst saloon ever !!!!!! You agree the payment over the phone then after the service they switch higher prices!!!. they switched to me and my daughter.very rude madam
I love this spot. The staff are always kind and accommodating! Each braided does their best and they make sure they’re not hurting you. I’ve brought my daughter as well, and she loves it here. I also bought some cute waist beads. Highly recommend them!
These people are crooks. I've been there twice and will never set foot in there again. My first visit was booked and I confirmed two days before my appointment, but since I didn't confirm again, the day of, she gave my appointment away. I told her that I was at work and couldn't get to my phone. She told me to come in anyway. She had me wait 3 hours before she started my hair. I had explained to her ,when I booked the appt., that i needed my hair dyed. She didn't tell me that i needed to bring the dye!!!! I didn't finish until 8pm when my appointment was at 2:30. The second visit (I went back because every other placed I called was booked and I was desperate due to time) I was quoted one price on the phone, another price when I got there and a even higher price after she was done. The braids were far too tight. I wanted my extensions dipped and not burned and she burned them anyway!!!! Very unprofessional people and I would strongly advise people to not seek their services. Boycott this establishment, maybe then they will not be and act so shady!
I found this salon on Google, called at 5:00 and got an appointment for 6:00. The ladies were very nice and the lady that braided my hair was the tall woman and I forgot to ask her name, but both were very nice and professional. My braids look very nice and I'm very pleased with the exception of them being a bit too tight on my front edge. However, I have soft hair that's hard to braid and have the nerve to be tender-headed (LOL!!) ???? and my braids (no matter who does them are always tight). The salon is very clean, they offer shampoo and conditioning services and I will be going back.
Honestly, I am not satisfied at all with this place. The staff is friendly but the braids are entirely too tight. I got my hair done a week ago because my baby shower is approaching and I have already taken the braids out. My scalp was practically raw and is currently burning since taking the braids out and even when I had them I was in extreme unnecessary pain. I’ve been getting braids my whole life and never experienced these issues. Being that my $160 is down the drain I’m not a happy customer. If they worked on how tight they braid I’d be back because they do nice work. I just don’t believe neat work has to ruin your damn scalp.
