Quick Facts About The Boathouse

The Boathouse has several strengths that make it a popular and well-loved pub. Firstly, the atmosphere is consistently described as welcoming, homely, and friendly. Visitors appreciate the old building and its character, including the bespoke stained glass windows. The pub has a real fire, creating a cozy atmosphere that many find appealing. The staff are also highly praised for their friendliness and welcoming nature. These positive aspects contribute to a pleasant and comfortable experience for patrons.
Another strength of The Boathouse is its wide selection of draft beers, lagers, and ciders. Real ale fans particularly enjoy the fantastic range of cask ales available, with some even describing it as a "bewildering array." The quality of the ales is consistently praised, with visitors noting that each one is in "tip top condition." This variety and quality of drinks are a major draw for beer enthusiasts and contribute to the pub's positive reputation.
The location of The Boathouse is also seen as a strength by many. It is conveniently situated right next to the Wylam railway station, making it easily accessible for both locals and visitors. This proximity to the train station is described as "handy" and is often mentioned as a positive aspect of the pub. For those arriving by train, it provides a convenient stop for refreshments, particularly with its outdoor seating area.
In terms of weaknesses, one recurring complaint is the lack of parking. This can be inconvenient for those arriving by car, especially if the pub is busy. Although not mentioned in the comments provided, it is possible that limited parking could deter potential customers or make their experience less enjoyable.
It is also worth noting that some of the comments focus solely on the beer and do not mention the food offerings. While it is stated that pub meals are available from 11 am to 4 pm, there is limited information or feedback on the quality or variety of the food. This could suggest that the food may not be as impressive as the drink offerings, or that it is less of a focal point for customers.
Overall, The Boathouse appears to have several key strengths, including a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, a wide selection of draft beers, and a convenient location next to the train station. However, potential weaknesses to consider may be the limited parking options and the relative lack of feedback on the food offerings.

Best TL Reviews

Uriger Pub mit der besten Crew ever!!! Die Übernachtungen waren toll und das Essen spitze!
Der beste Pub hier, muss man erleben????????????
A lovely old pub set on the side of the river Tyne by Wylam railway station. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but no parking. Children are allowed in the games room where you will find a games machine (over 18s only) and a pool table. Several booth style seating areas, a bay window seating area and a tv. The building is old and full of character with bespoke stain glass windows. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely return and recommend to others.

Probably the best pub in the world!!.
Handy for the trains doesn't come into it, as the pub is literally right next to the railway station and its grade 2 listed elevated signal box.
Bewildering array of real ales on the bar, each one in tip top condition. Thai food is also served but we were only here for the beer and we were not disappointed.
