Quick Facts About The Country Club Barber Shop

The Country Club Barber Shop has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, the barbershop is commended for being friendly and providing high-quality service. Customers mention being greeted immediately upon entering the shop and appreciate the use of hand sanitizer and the presence of an award for work with the homeless, showcasing the shop's commitment to cleanliness and community involvement. The fact that the barbers wore masks except when trimming hair behind the ears also demonstrates their attention to safety measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Another strength of The Country Club Barber Shop is its ability to cater to customers of all ages, particularly children. One customer mentions that they quickly accommodated their son by providing a booster seat and a fun neck cloth, and even changed the TV to entertain the child. This highlights the shop's ability to create a child-friendly environment and build a rapport with young customers.
The affordability of The Country Club Barber Shop is also highlighted as a strength. Customers mention that the shop offers great prices, such as $5 beard trims and reasonable haircuts. This makes the shop a budget-friendly option for customers, attracting those who are seeking quality service at a reasonable cost.
Furthermore, the barbers at The Country Club Barber Shop are praised for their skills and attention to detail. Customers describe them as artists who take their time to provide the best haircuts possible. One customer specifically mentions having their hair cut by Alex, who is commended for his pride in his work and attention to detail. This suggests that the barbers at the shop are highly skilled and dedicated to delivering excellent results.
The Country Club Barber Shop also stands out for its community outreach efforts. The shop is mentioned to have offered free haircuts to the homeless as part of a homeless outreach team. This demonstrates their commitment to using their skills to give back to the community and help individuals build confidence. The fact that the barbers spent time and attention on each person receiving a free haircut further showcases their dedication to providing quality service regardless of payment.
However, there are also a few weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One customer mentions that the shop can get busy, and it is advisable to make an appointment to avoid long wait times. Another customer states that the barbers were goofing off and not working when they visited without an appointment, leading to a negative experience. While this may be an isolated incident, it suggests that the shop may struggle with managing customer flow during peak times and could potentially improve in terms of accommodating walk-ins.
Additionally, one customer mentions that the shop has a cool hipster vibe, which may not be suitable for everyone. The banter between the barbers and customers is described as "mature," indicating the presence of adult conversations that may not be appropriate for children. This could be a potential drawback for customers who prefer a more family-friendly environment.
In conclusion, The Country Club Barber Shop has several notable strengths, including a friendly atmosphere, high-quality service, affordability, customer-friendly amenities for children, skilled barbers, and a commitment to community outreach. However, there are a few areas for improvement, primarily in terms of managing customer flow during busy periods and creating a more family-friendly environment. Overall, the positive reviews indicate that The Country Club Barber Shop is a reputable establishment that provides excellent service to its customers.

Best TL Reviews

Friendly, high quality, great price. Great for kids.
We were greeted immediately after walking through the door. They had hand sanitizer and an award for some kind of work with the homeless. They absolutely take walk-ins and asked us to wait 5 minutes so they could sterilize the chair. Everyone wore masks unless they were trimming a customer right behind the ears.
We were there for my son who had long pandemic hair that was getting unmanageable. They quickly gave him a booster seat and a fun neck cloth. They even changed the TV so that he could watch some transformers. He was delighted and quickly established a rapport with the person giving him a trim.
They gave us exactly the cut we wanted and for a great price. I look forward to giving them my business in the future!
I was eating lunch next door and upon leaving saw they offered 5 dollar beard trims ! Ducked my head in, quality shop and sure enough, 5 dollar beard trims
Definitely one of my favorite Barber shop experiences of my life! These guys are artists and really take their time to give you the best haircut that money can buy. I went away for the while on business travel but when I came back my hair was touching my ears and I definitely needed to get trimmed. My first thought was this place and luckily they are open for business! Make an appointment though because the wait can get long sometimes if they can fit you in at all! I had Alex cut my hair! He definitely takes pride in his work and his attention to detail was very much appreciated! See you guys next time!
There’s no bad barber. There’s not. You could go to any barbershop and walk out with hair well bought. If someone is investing in a chair to cut hair. They’ve long been qualified to earn their place there.
There’s one reason I choose Elvin.
Once you discover why your cut is his job. You’ll understand how the why’s wouldn’t be justified. If the experience could be contained merely in the matter of some mustered up words.
Allow me to put it this way. You can hire a journeyman painter; their work will look exactly as it should. If you could ask Michelangelo though. Based on the barber, Elvin, I pick. It’s definitely evident I most certainly would.
Very busy folks and I was told from the start make an appointment solid advice or be prepared to wait an hour or 2. Also remember they cut hair, they close at 630 but doors lock ahead to finish up the last of the customers. Service is great! Mario cut my hair and had a good chat with him, the crew love what they do that's for sure. Music was even changed if children were present and had lyrics that may not be appropriate for them, that's a good sign they care about the image they put out. The place reminds me of an old school barber shop, keep up the good work and I plan to be a regular.
Was a five-star fan of Country Club Barber Shop in Escondido (my original review below) but just tried to get a hair cut and now it seems like they've "jumped the shark" so just reduced to three stars. I dropped in without an appointment (which I've done in the past), and sat there for 20 minutes while two of their barbers weren't working, instead goofing off and laughing at each other's phones. I'm there to get a cut and I would probably give the biggest tip of the day but they couldn't be bothered. So I walked out. Loved the place in the past. The guys that worked there were super cool but now I guess they're too cool for me. Too bad.

Been going to Country Club for my last four haircuts and each cut has been great. They treat you like a valued customer and take their time on your hair. I had been going to Sports Clips, Supercuts and those kinds of places and getting bad to just plain horrible results. Country Club is just a little more money but a world of difference. Plus it's a pleasure going to a place where the people cutting your hair are happy to be there, and not just churning out haircuts. Do yourself a favor and go to Country Club. You'll walk out of there with a great haircut and you'll be in a great mood as well.
These guys came out to the streets of Downtown San Diego. As part of a homeless outreach team, they offered haircuts to the homeless free of charge. For 2 hours straight, person after person, they gave haircuts with the same quality as they would a paying customer in their shop. I know, I was one of the homeless that received a haircut. I asked them why they did this, and they said "It is hard for people out here, and one of the best ways to help a person in this situation is with their confidence. One of the best builders of confidence is a great haircut, and we feel blessed to be able to offer them to you guys" Wow. I was amazed as the person giving me my haircut spent nearly 20 minutes paying attention to every detail, while at the same time instilling hope in me that my situation is not permanent. I received more than 3 compliments on my haircut that day and was furnished with that feeling of freshness one has when they look their best. Thank you guys so much. I may never get another haircut from these guys as I live in Downtown, but for those looking for an awesome group of barbers, and the highest form of quality, and character, look no further. God Bless, from all us homeless....
First time to Country Club Barber. Cool vibe and definitely geared toward the hipster generation. I recommend calling ahead. I did not have an appointment and I had to wait 1 hour. A lot of mature banter back and forth between barbers and customers, so wouldn't take any little ones. My haircut was excellent. Be prepared to drop 30 bucks. I will definitely go back.
