Quick Facts About The Humble Barber Co.
The Humble Barber Co. has several strengths that make it stand out as a great place for haircuts and overall grooming experiences. Firstly, the atmosphere of the shop is described as quirky, welcoming, and nostalgic. The presence of unique artifacts and antique knickknacks creates a visually appealing environment that adds to the overall experience. This attention to detail in the decor helps create a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for customers.
Additionally, the barbers at The Humble Barber Co., particularly Brad and Nick, are highly praised for their expertise and skill. Customers mention that the barbers take their time and pay attention to detail, ensuring that the haircut is uniform and perfect. This shows a commitment to providing high-quality service and achieving customer satisfaction. The fact that Brad not only gives haircuts but also touches up necklines, ears, and eyebrows demonstrates an attention to overall grooming, making the experience more comprehensive and satisfying.
Moreover, the friendly and engaging nature of the barbers is another strength of the establishment. Several comments mention that the barbers go above and beyond to get to know their customers and engage in conversation. This personal touch not only makes the experience more pleasant but also fosters a sense of connection and loyalty between the customers and the barbers.
Furthermore, The Humble Barber Co. is commended for its sense of community. Customers appreciate the stories shared about the neighborhood and how the barbershop fits into the local community. This type of connection and engagement with the surrounding area helps create a strong sense of belonging and fosters a positive reputation within the community.
However, there are also a few weaknesses that were mentioned in the comments. One common concern is the waiting time. While the barbers are praised for taking their time with each customer, this can also lead to longer waiting times for those with later appointments. This can be inconvenient for customers who may have limited availability or time constraints. However, it is worth noting that the waiting area seems to have entertainment options such as comics, board games, and the presence of a friendly dog, which can help pass the time more pleasantly.
Another weakness mentioned is the difficulty of getting an appointment with certain barbers. One comment mentions that getting an appointment with Brad can be challenging and that arriving a few minutes before the scheduled opening time is recommended to secure a spot. While this shows that Brad is in high demand, it may be a hindrance for potential customers who may prefer a more flexible schedule.
In conclusion, The Humble Barber Co. has several strengths that contribute to its reputation as a great place for haircuts and grooming experiences. The welcoming atmosphere, skilled barbers, personal interactions, and sense of community are all factors that make customers highly satisfied with their visits. However, the waiting time and difficulty in scheduling appointments may pose challenges for some potential customers. Overall, The Humble Barber Co. seems to provide a positive and memorable experience for its customers.

Prior to today's visit I had been "managing" my own hair throughout the pandemic using a cheap clipper set. My hair was in need of a trim, so, on the recommendation of a friend (who, in full disclosure happens to be related to Brad), I decided to book an appointment with Brad. I am so glad I did!
I entered and immediately enjoyed the atmosphere. There is a plethora of quirky artifacts and antiquey knickknacks adorning the interior of the space---along with three barber chairs. I arrived at 2:59 PM for a 3:00 PM appointment, and Brad greeted me and invited me to have a seat in his chair.
This is truly an EXPERIENCE! Brad not only took his time with my hair but he also touched up my neckline, my ears, and my grotesquely errant eyebrows! He gave me helpful tips on how my hair naturally wanted to sway (ironically my hair pulls to the right whereas I lean to the left politically!). He also told me the less product the better to be kinder to my hair and scalp.
I really enjoyed all of our conversations. Brad seemed to make an effort to want to get to know me, and I loved learning more about him. We chatted about the neighborhood (I live just across the Shadeland Bridge), and I enjoyed hearing stories about how the neighborhood used to be.
Brad's 4 PM appointment showed up about 8 minutes prior to him finishing with me, but he didn't seem to rush me out of his chair---I saw it was just past 4 PM when I was getting back into my car.
I am going to be a repeat customer and PROMISE to not let my eyebrows turn into caterpillars for next time! Haha! Thanks, Brad!
Heard great things about The Humble Barber from a good friend pre-pandemic. Nick gave me good tips for hair/beard treatment and is an overall great human. Highly recommend the spot, good vibes and welcoming atmosphere!
Been goin to Brad for years now, endlessly reliable and an excellent hang. If you’re waitin around for a cut, there are comics and board games and the ever-present loveliness of Kitty the dog. Great tunes too. Would recommend.
This is definitively the best barber I have ever experienced in all my life! Every single aspect from the moment I walked through the door was incredible. I would wait several hours to have this guy cut my hair. I would travel from out of state to have my hair cut here. He makes his own shaving cream for Pete's sake! Friendly, professional, extremely knowledgeable. When I look back on all the lucky moments in my life, walking into this barbershop for a haircut will be listed. I can't write a review worthy of how incredible The Humble Barber is!! Seriously this might sound like some sort of pump piece but I am so blown away I sat down and felt it was my duty to mankind to do my part to make this place known. My children will tell their children stories of how amazing this place was. If they gave out Michelin stars for barbers this guy would get the inaugural 5 stars!
Love the barbershop nostalgia, and Travis is an awesome barber.
Brad is an amazing barber and just a nice guy in general. He makes every effort to get to know you and make sure you always leave satisfied. The waiting time is a little annoying. If you don't get there like 5 min before he opens you can usually expect up to a 3 hour wait depending on the day and time. But he does have beer to drink and a dog to play with while you wait. In my opinion it's totally worth it.
Every single hair cut Brad has ever given me has been the best haircut I've ever had. Just gets better and better. The atmosphere is chill but definitely doesn't over do it. This is a barbershop you feel like you belong to after your first visit. I drive from Wexford and pass 100 other places to get my hair cut to see Brad. Use him and recommend him to your friends.
Place is great! Great haircut with attention to detail. Brad spends lots of time making sure it's uniform and perfect. He also is responsive to the type of hair you have and gives you advice and samples to take home based on your style and hair type. The music and vibe is cool too, but I'm coming back because the haircut was spot on. It was the best cut I've had in a few years actually.
