Quick Facts About The Post House Chippy

Upon evaluating the comments provided, it is possible to identify several strengths and weaknesses of The Post House Chippy. However, it is important to note that most positive reviews are from over a year ago, while more recent comments tend to be negative. This suggests that there may have been a decline in the quality of the establishment over time. In any case, let us examine the strengths and weaknesses as detailed in the comments:
Strengths:
1. Fresh Food: One customer compliments the freshness of the food, specifically mentioning the fresh chips. Fresh food is a crucial element for any food establishment, as it enhances the taste and overall dining experience.
2. Good First Impressions: A customer notes that, under new management, the chippy has made a good first impression. This is a positive sign as it suggests that the new owners have positively impacted the overall quality of the food.
3. Quality of Oil: A customer appreciates the change of oil for frying the food. This indicates that the establishment has adopted good practices in maintaining the flavors and ensuring the food is not overly greasy.
4. Massive Portions: One customer mentions that even the small portions of food are sizable. This can be seen as a strength, as it offers customers value for their money and may attract those seeking a filling meal.
Weaknesses:
1. Inconsistent Quality: A customer remarks that The Post House Chippy has experienced closures and reopenings, which may suggest inconsistency in maintaining high standards. This inconsistency can lead to mixed experiences for customers.
2. Overcooked Fish: One customer criticizes the chippy for serving severely overcooked fish. Overcooking can result in a lack of flavor, texture, and overall enjoyment of the dish.
3. Poor Customer Service: Another customer states that the customer service was non-existent. This can negatively impact the overall experience, as good customer service is an essential aspect of any dining establishment.
4. Burnt Chips: According to one reviewer, the chips they received were burnt black and inedible. This not only reflects poorly on the quality of the food but also suggests a lack of attention to detail in the preparation process.
5. Lack of COVID-19 Standards: A customer highlights that the chippy lacks COVID-19 safety measures, such as cashless payments, masks, gloves, and screens, as well as physical distancing. In the current climate, this can be a significant concern for customers prioritizing health and safety.
6. Decline in Quality: Another commenter mentions that the food quality has deteriorated, suggesting that inconsistencies in food preparation occur when the owner is absent. This inconsistency can lead to fluctuations in the overall quality of the food served.
In summary, The Post House Chippy has received both positive and negative comments from customers. While some praise its fresh food, good first impressions, and massive portions, others criticize it for overcooked fish, burnt chips, poor customer service, lack of COVID-19 standards, and inconsistency in quality. These weaknesses should be addressed to improve the overall dining experience at the establishment.

Best TL Reviews

Had lunch from here last Fri 24th March and was absolutely lush. Chips were fresh in fact all the food was fresh. I'm going to order tonight fir delivery so will let people know if the new chippy is cooking to high standards still.
This is under new management and first impressions very good, ordered chips, 2 battered sausages and tasted very nice, you can tell they change the oil for frying, totally recommend
Heard bad stuff, but tried the place anyway. Lovely food. Only thing I would say is specials boards need to be outside. Lovely food, massive portions, even the small ones
Note: most positive reviews are from a year ago or more. Mine used to be positive. It's closed and reopened a few times since then.
Most recent experience:
The batter was nice. The chips were okay. That's all the positive I have though.
Severely overcooked fish. Disgusting curry sauce and mushy peas.
No COVID-19 standards at all. Cash only. No masks. No gloves. No signs. No screens. Staff touching each other and in permanent close proximity. There was a socially distanced queue but I think the customers did that themselves.
Won't be returning.
The chips were burnt black inedible would be ashamed to serve these to anyone and expect payment if that's a sample of the food served here they won't be in business long tiny portion as well and customer service was non existent won't be going back that's for sure
First time, best fish and chips in a long time! Huge beautiful cod, one portion of chips was enough for two, curry sauce and mushy peas lovely. No grease at all! Scrumptious.
After telling my mam to go here instead of her usual chip shop on 12/10/18, she ordered fish bites and chips, she couldn't even eat the chips. The fish was so hard and over done it was like empty packets of batter. Everything was that hard and over done that it was inedible, the whole lot went in the bin. It seems that when Dan (owner) is not in the standards slip and food is very poor qualify. Such a shame.
Had before were lovely but tonight the chips were horrible I would not recommend they were so hard nearly broke teeth
