Quick Facts About Village Nail Bar

Village Nail Bar has both strengths and weaknesses, as outlined by the comments above.
One of the strengths mentioned is the level of service provided by a particular technician. In the second comment, the customer states that the technician was knowledgeable, gentle, and took great care to accommodate her needs as a pregnant woman. The technician also provided a detailed manicure and massage, which the customer greatly appreciated. This highlights the expertise and attention to detail that can be found at Village Nail Bar.
Another strength mentioned is the affordable price. The second comment states that the customer was pleasantly surprised by the price and found it to be reasonable for the level of service received. This indicates that Village Nail Bar offers competitive pricing, making it accessible to a wide range of customers.
Additionally, the second comment mentions the friendly and relaxing atmosphere of the salon. The customer had a lovely chat with the technician and felt relaxed throughout the experience. This creates a positive and welcoming environment for customers, adding to the overall satisfaction of visiting Village Nail Bar.
However, there are also weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One weakness is the poor customer service experienced by a customer in the third comment. The customer felt ignored and overlooked by the staff, which resulted in a negative experience. This indicates a lack of professionalism and attentiveness on the part of the salon staff.
Another weakness mentioned is the lack of skill demonstrated by a particular nail technician, as described in the fourth comment. The customer had a negative experience with this technician, who was unable to provide a satisfactory result for the nails. This suggests a lack of training or skill on the part of some salon staff members.
Furthermore, there is a complaint about the quality of the nails in the fifth comment. The customer states that the nails were not done properly, with streaky and matte top coats and a Play-Doh-like texture. This indicates a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for quality standards.
Another weakness mentioned is the rushed and inadequate service provided by a manicurist, as described in the seventh comment. The customer felt that the service was not up to par, with cuticles not being properly softened or nails being shaped but not smoothed over. This suggests a lack of thoroughness and attention to detail on the part of the manicurist.
In conclusion, Village Nail Bar has strengths such as knowledgeable and gentle technicians, affordable pricing, and a friendly atmosphere. However, there are also weaknesses including poor customer service, lack of skill among some technicians, poor quality of nail treatments, and rushed and inadequate service. It is important for potential customers to weigh these strengths and weaknesses when considering visiting Village Nail Bar.

Best TL Reviews

First and last time going! I saw the reviews and was so excited to go! I asked to have my fingers wrapped to take the gel off and was told that’s too expensive by the tech, then was given a bucket with acetone! It took 3 hours to just do a color change on my toes, and a manicure…I was charged $95! I asked about the price as well as my nails and was told “all salons are different, your nails fine.” The powder on my nails is THIN and coming off along with the top coat after just 2 days!!! They are not smooth and also the powder goes outside of my nail bed! I will NEVER go back, and wouldn’t recommend!
I’m 39 weeks pregnant and came in for a pedicure before my baby comes. My technician was knowledgeable on setting the water temperature not as hot and being gentle without me saying a word. I haven’t been able to reach my toes in sometime now, and she took great care in giving a very detailed manicure. My feet had started to swell this week from pregnancy and she took so much time to massage my feet and hands. It was very much appreciated. I was pleasantly surprised by the price and the level of service. I had a lovely chat with her and she was always trying to ensure I was relaxed. I was - and think I dozed off at one point. I can’t wait to go back after my daughter comes. Hopefully I can get the same tech as I did before!
I wish I could give less than 1 star simply because of the poor customer service that I received. I came in one busy afternoon for an eyebrow wax and there were 2 other people seated in the waiting area. I understand that it was busy so the amount of time that I had to wait wasn’t an issue. It was the fact that NO ONE acknowledged my presence even after they seen me come in. One order gentleman came and asked the woman sitting next to me to my left what she came in for and promptly got her checked in but didn’t even acknowledge my presence or ask me what service I needed. Had he done that and said “someone will be right with you” I would’ve had no issue. Like I said, I understand that it was busy. But he completely ignored me and then took the other woman sitting in the waiting area to my right back for her pedicure right away. I sat there longer than I should’ve and I really should’ve walked out. Eventually one of the techs came over and asked me what I needed done. While she did do a good job on my eyebrows I will never go back again. Their customer service is poor and based on the other reviews their nail technicians aren’t that skilled either. If you’re thinking about trying this place, don’t.
I want to first start by saying this was my 3rd visit to this nail salon since moving to Columbia. It is conveniently located in walking distance from my home so I was hoping it would work out. I took my mom with me on New Years Day. It went GREAT! Kate, the "manager," did my nails and did an amazing job and I let her know I would be coming back in 2 weeks. I called 2 weeks later on a Friday and spoke with Kate and made an appointment with her for Saturday morning at 11am. I was a few minutes early but am truly a patient waiter for good products and service. By about 11:30am, I asked if Kate was coming in. Another nail technician called Kate on speaker phone where they talked in another language quite loudly and after getting off the lady said she was on her way. I said I was going to walk to get a coffee. I walked up the road and came back at 11:45am. Needless to say, Kate was still not there. By 12NOON - an hour after my scheduled appointment time, I said I wasn't waiting any longer and another lady didn't have any clients so I said I wanted her to do my nails. The nail tech that had called Kate earlier, said hang on, let me call her. Kate comes on the speakerphone again, YELLING in English this time. She said NO, YOU WAIT FOR ME OR HAVE MY BROTHER DO YOUR NAILS. I said, your brother just started working with someone else and I've waited for an ENTIRE hour. I'm not waiting any longer. Again on speaker phone, she yells that the lady that was without a client was HORRIBLE and WAS GOING TO DO A BAD JOB ON MY NAILS, SHE WAS NOT GOOD AND STILL TRAINING, AND SHE WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE AND I NEEDED TO WAIT. I let her know I was not waiting and couldn't even believe that all of this transpired from me trying to get a FILL for my nails. I'm writing this review in hopes that there will be some management and behavior changes at this salon. Regardless of if the lady is not good or not, to yell at one of your employees through the speakerphone, in front of several customers and other employees, that she is horrible and not good at her job was so disgusting and unprofessional. I had the lady do my nails, she did a descent job, but I cannot go back to this place due to the behavior of the manager, Kate.
I spent $120 on this less than 5 hours ago. $70 for the nails, and $50 for the pedicure. I am new to the area and came here based on the Google reviews, but I have no idea why this place is rated so highly. I had the same polish used on both my toes and nails, but had two different techs. I believe the tech who did my pedicure was named Cindy and she was wonderful. She took her time and got my polish right the first time around, and left my feet soft and free of dead skin. I did not catch the name of the man who did my nails, but there were only two men there, one younger and one older. The older gentleman seemed to be doing nail designs only, and the one who butchered my nails was younger with short hair and a stringy mustache....he also mentioned that he was the cousin of the owner. I must confess that he did check in with me several times while he was doing my nails, so Im 50% mad at the job he did and 50% mad at myself for watching this slow disaster occur and not saying anything. Also, I cut him off after his 3rd attempt at a topcoat, because, by this point, no amounts of topcoats were going to help the Play-Doh-like nails I had been given. By the time he was finishing up my nails, I had been there for 3 hours. Each time he did a top coat on my gel nails, he wiped them with alcohol and they instantly turned matte and streaky. Please note that I did not have this experience with my pedicure, and they used the exact same polishes. After 3 hours in the salon and the third topcoat, I told him I would apply a topcoat at home because I was out of time. Apparently, this was an acceptable job to them (at least 2 other techs, including the owner, came and stood over his shoulder while he was polishing my nails and they both seemed to approve of the job he was doing). Also, this was one of the least professional salons I've ever been to. It's not unusual for the techs to chat with each other in the shop, but several times I witnessed them seemingly ignore customers until their private conversations were finished, and my tech repeated put my nails on hold so he could set up face time convos on his phone, put in his ear piece and select a playlist, reply to texts, and then some. If I EVER go back here, it will be by appointment only, and for Cindy only. Save your money. Standards of quality are non-existent here.
Walked in for a regular manicure…(can’t get gel and such) and the reception was cold, the manicurist, didn’t put any cuticle oil or whatever they put on around your nails to soften the cuticles and hang nails, she rushed through, and when I asked if she was going to moisturize she said she already did.
The shape of my nails was done with a file, but not smoothed over.
I guess if you’re spending $55+ on the gel and such this is better, because this was recommended to me by a friend, but I wouldn’t recommend.
Other patrons offered a beverage and I was not. Just to add to the experience. ????????????????????????
Kate did a great job with my nails. It was quick, and they turned out absolutely amazing!!
I love this nail shop !!!! Tyler and Kate are the best . And Julie makes you feel right at home . They will do any design you ask for as long as you bring a picture . Oh and they serve complimentary wine too!
