Quick Facts About Woods Barbers
Woods Barbers has several strengths that are evident from the comments provided. Firstly, their quality of cut is exceptional, with multiple customers praising the skill and attention to detail of the barbers. This shows that the barbers at Woods Barbers have honed their craft and are able to provide customers with a top-notch haircut. Additionally, the prices at Woods Barbers are competitive and unbeatable, with one customer mentioning that they only paid £12 for a haircut in the middle of Edinburgh. This affordability makes Woods Barbers an attractive option for customers who are looking for a high-quality haircut at a reasonable price.
Another strength of Woods Barbers is the great conversation and friendly atmosphere. Many customers have mentioned that they enjoyed chatting with the staff and found them to be friendly and personable. This creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for customers, making their visit to Woods Barbers not only about getting a haircut but also an enjoyable experience. Furthermore, the mention of live music and a friendly community of regulars at the Captains bar adds to the positive atmosphere of the place.
The longevity of Woods Barbers is also a strength, as one customer mentioned that they have been coming to the barbershop for 10 years. This shows that Woods Barbers has built a strong reputation and has managed to retain loyal customers over the years. This loyalty can be attributed to the excellent service provided by the staff, as mentioned by the customer.

This expertise in beard grooming can attract customers who are looking for a barbershop that can cater to their specific needs and provide excellent results.
Despite the numerous strengths mentioned, there are a few potential weaknesses that should be considered. One potential weakness is the lack of diversity in customer testimonials. While the comments provided are overwhelmingly positive, they are also from a limited group of customers. It would be beneficial to have a more diverse range of feedback to truly understand the strengths and weaknesses of the barbershop. Additionally, the mention of the barbershop as an "Edinburgh institution" from a customer who visited in the 1960s highlights the potential challenge of appealing to a younger demographic. Woods Barbers may need to consider how to attract and retain younger customers, who may have different preferences and expectations.
In conclusion, Woods Barbers has several strengths that make it a popular choice among customers. The exceptional quality of cuts, affordable prices, friendly atmosphere, and expertise in beard shaping are all factors that contribute to its positive reputation. However, potential weaknesses include the lack of diverse testimonials and the need to attract and retain a younger demographic. By addressing these weaknesses and continuing to build on their strengths, Woods Barbers can further establish itself as a go-to barbershop in Edinburgh.

Despite countless visits to Edinburgh, today was a first visit to Woods Barbers. The quality of cut was exceptional and top marks for the prices too. £12 for a hair cut in the middle of Edinburgh surely has to be unbeatable. Great conversation too! Look forward to returning.
Amazing place to have a hair cut, when I was going . Nostalgia in the cutting ✂️ hair from long gone by with a good atmosphere in barbershop.
The haircut and service were phenomenal. They paid lots of attention to detail. Probably the best haircut I've had.
Love the Captains bar! Great staff! Live music superb and the regulars friendly people!
Been coming here for 10 years now. Excellent service from everyone who works here.
Best barbers in the city by a long shot. Friendly staff, always have good chat and most important of all you don’t get ripped off here, nor do they mess up you’re hair cut. Professional five stars.
Went here as a wee lad growing up in the 1960s... fond memories of Mr J.F. Wood and all his athletics photos in the shop. I think a boys' cut (short back and sides) was 2/6.
An Edinburgh institution back then and so happy to see the shop is still there.
Excellent hair cut and beard trim from Ian, he handles a large beard shaping with expertise. Absolute pleasure as always.
