2. Quick service: Customers have mentioned that the service at Alex's Barber Shop is always quick. This can be a significant advantage for busy individuals who are looking for a convenient and efficient haircut experience.
3. Reasonable pricing: The standard cost for a haircut at Alex's Barber Shop is mentioned to be $25, which many customers find reasonable for the service provided. This may attract customers who are looking for quality haircuts at an affordable price.
4. Loyalty and long-standing customers: There are positive comments from customers who have been going to Alex's Barber Shop for a long time, even since they were children. This indicates that the shop has built a loyal customer base who continue to trust their services.
Weaknesses:
1. Negative reviews about the quality of haircuts: Some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of haircuts they received at Alex's Barber Shop. They mentioned that their hair was cut randomly, resulting in emotional distress and physical pain. The negative comments regarding the haircut experience can deter potential customers from choosing this barber shop.
2. Hygiene concerns: Numerous customers have raised concerns about the hygiene practices at this barber shop. They mentioned that the tools and towels are not properly cleaned, and the chairs are not sanitized. The lack of proper hygiene can be a serious issue, as it can lead to the spread of diseases and infections.
3. Price inconsistency: There have been complaints from customers about the price inconsistency at Alex's Barber Shop. Despite the advertised price of $25, some customers have mentioned being asked to pay more after their haircut. This inconsistency in pricing can lead to a lack of transparency and trust between the barbershop and customers.
4. Negative emotional impact: Multiple customers have expressed their strong negative emotions and unpleasant experiences after visiting Alex's Barber Shop. These negative emotions can result in a poor reputation for the shop, as customers are unlikely to recommend it to others or return for future visits.
5. Location confusion: One commenter mentioned confusion about the shop's location, as it is marked as the same location as another defunct barbershop. This confusion can create a lack of trust in the shop's credibility and professionalism.
Conclusion:
Despite some positive aspects such as a friendly owner, quick service, reasonable pricing, and loyal customers, the weaknesses of Alex's Barber Shop are significant. Negative reviews about the quality of haircuts, hygiene concerns, price inconsistency, negative emotional impact on customers, and location confusion can greatly impact the reputation and success of the shop. Improvements in haircut quality, hygiene practices, and pricing transparency are necessary for the shop to overcome its weaknesses and build a positive reputation in the industry.

Best TL Reviews

First time I have had a haircut cause emotional distress and physical pain. I suspect either the positive reviews are fake/ coerced, or the guy that was cutting up my face was just some random man off the street that the barbershop pulled in. They also make you pay in cash and hike up the price after the haircut. Terrible spot!
Easily the worst haircut of my life! My face hurts afterwards, as does my scalp. If you want to go somewhere where they'll cut up your face (With clippers rather than a straight razor), and chop off your hair randomly all in less than 15 minutes, this is the place. Their hygiene is also awful (They use all the same tools and towels, don't clean them, and don't clean the chairs), I have spent the past two days googling the diseases you can get from the barber as a result of the red bumps that have formed after going there. Also keep in mind the price. Outside it says $25, but afterwards they will ask for more. The guy tried to shake me down for an extra $25 for 50 in total, how is a place like this even still open. If you value your health, hair, pride, or wallet, steer clear.
So I can't reply directly to the comment left by the store owner, so it is here as an edit.
This place is terrible. On the map it is marked as the same location Isaac Scissorhands (which appears to be defunct). I would genuinely not wish a visit to this place on anyone I know, respect, or care for. It checks off every single box for what you don't want in a barbershop. Thinking about my trip there, still to this day, makes me feel uneasy, upset, and unpleasant. Never in my life have I been more happy that people naturally regrow their hair. It would not surprise me if this place was built to drive more traffic to nearby doctors and pharmacies. As to the competitor comment, I really wish I was. I would have such an easy time driving this store out of business, and would be doing a civil service in the process. Whatever your hair looks like right now, it is better than it will look after a trip here.
Alex is an excellent friendly barber. Service is always quick. As of this post, $25 cost for a standard cut.
Gabe is a terrific barber. I travel fromWashington Heights to get my haircut. Well worth the trip!
Very friendly owner, gave me great cut, made sure I felt comfortable and liked the look. Took the time to cut it slightly shorter.
Been going here since I was 9 and I’ve never had a bad haircut once.
Great place for haircuts, good price, and my family has been coming for a while.
A cold, wet Monday morning met me with some indifference. The previous weekend had drained my body and pocketbook. Around 10:30am, I strolled somewhat aimlessly, looking for a bagel or a woman or a barber shop. I initially passed Alex's in hopes one of the former would appear. I returned feeling somewhat sour and defeated.
Relaxed atmosphere. The crisp smell of linen and disinfectant. A woman and a boy relaxed in an artists' pose. Sculptors. Nameless and armed with scissors and straight razors. A cozy lounge seat for me with the typical metal footrest.
Leaving it was still misty. Street signs blurred in the empty sidewalk outside the shop. In a sense, nothing had changed. My soul and pocketbook still ached. But suddenly they were beneath me. Hair was tight around my scalp and gone from the nape of my neck. World was wet but promising.
