Quick Facts About Avalon nails and spa
Avalon Nails and Spa Place, based on the comments provided, has a mix of strengths and weaknesses. The strengths include friendly and welcoming staff, talented nail technicians, and a beautiful and well-kept salon. On the other hand, the weaknesses are related to communication issues, lack of explanation of services, questionable sanitation practices, inconsistent quality of service, and pricing mistakes. It is important to analyze these strengths and weaknesses in more detail.
One of the strengths mentioned by multiple commenters is the friendly and welcoming staff. Customers appreciated being personally greeted upon entry and the outstanding customer service throughout their experience. This contributes to a positive and inviting atmosphere, making customers feel valued and cared for.
Another strength is the talent and skill of certain nail technicians. Customers were highly satisfied with the work done by specific nail technicians such as Tom and Selena. These technicians were praised for their precision, efficiency, and ability to provide beautifully shaped nails. Having skilled professionals who take pride in their work is an asset to the salon.
Additionally, the salon itself is mentioned as a strength. Customers describe Avalon Nails and Spa Place as modern, clean, and well-kept. This contributes to a pleasant and comfortable environment for customers to enjoy their nail services.
However, there are several weaknesses that were pointed out in the comments. One recurrent issue mentioned is the lack of communication and explanation of services. Customers felt that the salon should provide more information about the services offered, including inclusions and options. This lack of information can be off-putting and result in confusion or dissatisfaction with the service received.
Sanitation practices were also a concern for some customers. One commenter pointed out the use of banned tools, such as a cheese grater callus scraper, which can cause cuts and are unsanitary. They also mentioned the absence of one-time use tools, which are commonly used in other salons to prevent the sharing of tools between clients. This raises potential health and safety issues that need to be addressed.
Furthermore, there were instances where customers experienced a lack of quality in the service provided. Some commenters mentioned nail technicians who spoke little English and had difficulty understanding their requests or providing satisfactory service. This language barrier can lead to frustration and dissatisfaction for customers. In addition, one customer mentioned being charged incorrectly for their service, with the nail technician offering the excuse of not understanding English. This highlights a need for improved communication and training among the staff.
Another weakness reported was the negative experience of a customer whose nails were cut multiple times and required another nail technician to fix them. This highlights a lack of consistency in service quality, as one customer had a positive experience while another had a negative one.
Lastly, there was a specific incident where a customer had a nail break and went to the salon for a repair. However, the technician filed down all their nails instead of just repairing the broken one. This resulted in a mismatched color and uneven nail lengths. This indicates a lack of attention to detail and customer preferences, leading to a highly unsatisfactory experience for the customer.
In conclusion, Avalon Nails and Spa Place has strengths in terms of friendly staff, talented nail technicians, and a beautiful salon. However, they have weaknesses such as communication issues, lack of service explanation, questionable sanitation practices, inconsistent quality of service, and pricing mistakes. It is important for the salon to address these weaknesses by improving communication among staff, providing clear explanations of services, ensuring proper sanitation practices, maintaining consistent service quality, and avoiding pricing mistakes. By addressing these weaknesses, Avalon Nails and Spa Place can enhance the overall customer experience and work towards providing a consistently positive and satisfactory service.
Best TL Reviews
While the staff was super friendly and eager to help the service and the experience was not the best.
For starters, this was our first time at this location. We ate at Metro Diner and decided to make it a one stop shop and give their salon a try.
As we were seated and assigned our nail techs we were given this binder to pick our service. There was absolutely NO explanation of the services as far as their inclusions go, etc. It was just a generic list and that was a little off putting.
Next, I noticed my mothers tech using that cheese grater callus scraper on her and I immediately freaked out because first and foremost, those tools are banned in nail salons due to causing cuts in the skin and two, they are unsanitary as well. They are not one time use tools so you’re getting small cuts on the bottom of your feet on a tool that’s used on multiple clients. Speaking of which, this salon had NO one time use tools and for that They really should be looked into about this so they can get brought up to code! I live in Atlanta and all the salons I’ve visited there all use one time tools so they’re not shared between clients.
Anyways, Then, the lady I had spoke very little English so she didn’t understand much of anything. She would cut corners with filing/shaping, massaging, etc. I was not impressed by the experience and wish I could remembered her name.
Lastly, this was my final straw, she charged me $96 for a $60 service. Luckily I get text from Navy Federal when my card is swiped. When I showed them her response was “I’m sorry, I don’t understand English” and while that’s completely understandable, what’s not is if you don’t understand English fully you have no business on a register until that improves just to prevent these mistakes.
They were apologetic and got everything resolved by just giving me $36 back in cash but it just wasn’t a good experience for me so honestly I won’t be back 9/10.
Now My mom had zero issues so if I do ever come back, I’m gonna try her nail tech (Ashley).
Always an amazing experience. Personally greeted on entry and outstanding customer service throughout. Gem ???? amongst many other nearby nail salons!
Tom at Avalon is particular with a touch of OCD which makes for an amazing nail tech! He is consistently great and takes his time to get your nails just right!
I was recommended to Avalon by a close friend, however, I came to their Google Reviews for recommendations on who to book — Google Reviews don’t lie! Ms. Selena is the bomb.com. She is highly skilled, personable, and provides top tier service. My nails are beautifully shaped & my pedicure was the best I’ve experienced in a long time. She truly cares about the overall integrity of your hands & feet. Her compassion shines thru her work! I highly recommend booking with Ms. Selena.
Additionally, the nail salon is absolutely beautiful ???? It is modern, clean, and well kept. Thank you for your phenomenal service, Avalon Nails!
Selena always does an amazing job!!! She is so friendly and very skilled at what she does!! I love coming to Avalon for her!!! She makes me feel so welcomed and well taken care for :) and I ALWAYS get complimented on my nails! I wish I could give higher than 5 stars!!
First time coming here and I will not return. The lady who did my nails cut me twice and someone else had to “fix” my nails which I was still not happy with then she did my sisters and she cut her as well. The manager was really sweet and gave me a discount. $10 dollars off so I still had to pay $30 for my ugly nails. Honestly they shouldn’t of charged me at all.
I having been going to Avalon for almost a year now. Selena is awesome. I highly recommend her. She does powder gel on my nails. She is very precise and takes extra time to make them look great. Everyone there is super nice and welcoming.
Selena does a great job. She is precise and efficient. This is a pink and white ombré with coffin shape. She is nice to chat with and has a nice sense of humor. You can tell she is experienced and takes pride in her work. Thanks Selena! See you soon!
I went in the day before Thanksgiving for the first time. I asked for Selena as I read google reviews prior and she was mentioned a hundred times! She did great on the shape I asked for which most nail places I have been to always seem to not get right. A little pricier than other places I had been too but decided I would go back. Fast forward to just 5 days later one of my nails broke(dip is on my real nail and I keep them medium length). I call and make an appointment for the following day to repair the nail that had broke. I get there and she sits me in her chair. Starts filing my broken nail down as short as she possibly can(I’m thinking she’s getting ready to add a tip) and then she moves on to my other nails that aren’t broken and Begonia filing them down!! She was going to file all of my long nails short to my skin! I said wait what are you doing? Don’t you see all of my other nails are long, I want a tip on there. Why would you file all of my nails down when only one was broken?! She then says we’ll go find the color and sits and argues with me because she doesn’t want to help my find that color that matches. She claims to have found the color and puts it on the nail and it’s not even the same color! Needless to say I will never be back! I left crying and in all of my years getting my nails done this was the worst experience I have had. Not to mention now I have a nail that’s a different color and another one that she filed down and is shorter than the rest!
