Great work!!! Always very patient and honest about potential issues, risks, and the time it will take in order to make my crazy ideas reality. I take responsibility for the results if they aren't quite what I was hoping for but I'm always pleased with the results and get a lot of compliments about Becky's work. Here are some examples of me that she has done over the years.
Shortly after I moved here from NY, I needed my hair cut and colored. I passed Colourful Illusions a few times, and figured I'd walk in and make an appointment. Becky immediately consulted with me, and made me feel so welcome and comfortable. We made an appointment and had my color and cut. I have to say after all the places I've had my hair done in NY, Becky outshined all of them! She knows what she's doing, and her prices are more than fair. You won't be disappointed!
I have been going to Becky for two years now and I never had problems with her when I first got my hair cut and dyed red a few times. It wasn’t until I wanted to go rose gold where I encountered my first issue. My scalp was burned so bad that I couldn’t brush my hair for over a week because it was scabbed and clumped together. It took my scalp a full month to fully heal. I let Becky know after it was healed and she asked me to come in so she could look at it. After looking at it she didn’t see anything anymore but offered to color my hair brown or red again for free whenever I’m ready to compensate for the damages that I received. I was happy with the solution except she never kept her word. I have contacted her multiple times and showed up to her store and can not get a hold of her. We even scheduled for her to color it but when the day came I asked her what time and she never responded to me. I live an hour away so I wasn’t going to drive down to her for no reason. I’m disappointed that her end of the bargain has not been kept. I recommend her for hair cuts and hair color all over but when it comes to bleach, stay away from getting it done here.
I called this business looking for a haircut at 4pm and asked was the stylist available. She asked me when was I coming and I then advised her I literally live less than 5 minutes away and I was on my way now. I arrived in the shopping center and had to circle quite a few times before I actually found the place and once I did the salon times advertised open until 8pm, however there was no-one inside. I then called the stylist back and there was no answer. The message says you can text your question or concern, so I did. It has now been 30 minutes and no response. This is bad business. If you didn't want to take a client then you should've just said that and not wasted my time to come there!!!! Luckily it wasn't to far out of the way for me but be aware w/gas prices the way they are you don't want to take a trip here for nothing!
While doing an outreach in the community with FSU due to me being a nursing student we had a very dreadful experience with Becky King. She cursed at us not knowing why we were here. She assumed that FSU nursing students were issuing vaccines when we were doing blood pressure checks and giving helpful information for people underprivileged that don't have insurance to be seen for their underlying conditions. Becky King yelled obscene words at us. Saying that we were going to die because of the vaccine and that we were going to go to jail for giving vaccines. She said we need God, but as a woman who walks in faith and faith always lies within God I would have never acted out the way she did. For her customers that have been vaccinated I guess it safe to know she's against it. It's a choice everyone makes and it's their choice. Becky should have asked what FSU was doing instead of assuming and cursing us and my fellow peers our like we had done something to her. Only checking blood pressure Becky it's never that serious to say the hateful things you said to us off of assumptions.
I absolutely love Becky. My entire family goes to her salon. She is so welcoming professional and friendly, and she far exceeded my expectations. She is an Absolutely phenomenal colorist. When you go in her salon your at home. We will continue to have our family styled at her salon as long as we live here. I messed up my hair with the darkest of box dyes and Becky went above and beyond to fix my hair. You have to experience her for yourself. She’s awesome.
As a nursing student working through the ongoing pandemic, I assist Fayetteville State University with community outreach. Through this program, my school goes out to various nearby locations, specifically targeting areas that are underprivileged. While working this morning, Becky King decided to share her opinions in a very disturbing manner. A few of the disturbing comments Becky made included that FSU nursing students were the antichrist giving out the devil vaccine to kill people. She also mentioned that we would all either die or be jailed for giving out the vaccine. Mind you, the Cumberland County Health Dpt. are the ones administering the vaccine, not FSU nursing students. Becky also posted myself and fellow peers to her personal Facebook page on a live video, downgrading the work we are doing. For those who take the coronavirus seriously, I recommend you avoiding Colorful Illusions, as it is needless to say the owner, Becky King is highly against the COVID vaccine.
Becky is the only person anywhere near here that I will let color my hair! I have such naturally dark hair that I have had such a hard time finding someone who will take their time to do it right. Every single time I have set foot in her salon, she has been incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. It’s obvious she knows what she is doing and I trust her completely!
