The hair braiders are ok! The owner flokay has a evil spirit and she's rude and phony. Switch the prices every time you go there!!!!

Terrible. If y'all go here DO NOT get your hair done by the lightskin lady. She was giving way too much attitude, took the LONGEST, and didn't even do a good job. She stopped in the middle of braiding my hair and started eating. And the braids are all over the place. A complete waste of my money. I wouldn’t even pay $20 for this mess. Flokay was refusing to see the mistake and still didn't give a discount. This place is very unprofessional do not go here!!!

They can be so disrespectful with your hair, like it’s not attached to your scalp. They can be nice, but have bad attitudes when there’s a misunderstanding. I came here early one day because I needed my hair done before a certain time and they didn’t open the door until past 9 and there was only one braider here until 10:15. I was seated at 11. Reminder that the business is supposed to open at 8. Another time, the woman doing my hair took an absurd amount of time because she took many breaks to talk on the phone. If you say your hair is too tight, they tell you “it’s not tight” and move on. They were overcharged me once before they realized that I was related to someone the owner liked. Mind you, this place is far from cheap. Some of the braiders are such kind ladies, and they do good work, so it’s a shame that the service is so hot and cold.

My wife was verbally disrespected at this salon by the owner! My daughter waited 4 hours for her hair to get done just for the owner to walk in and decided that the lady should not do my daughters hair! I can’t believe in this time we’re living in, where people of color should be sticking together this is the type of treatment we are getting from our own kind. Please save yourself the extreme disappointment and go to one of the respectful salons right up the street. Trust me, no matter the age you will be treated as a priority!

Wowwww if I could give zero stars I would. My heart is extremely distressed from the type of treatment I received from the owner! I arrived at 12pm, there were 3 stylists there. Each stylist had their own clientele, the sweet woman responsible for my daughters hair had someone in the chair that she just started, she explained to me that my daughter would have to wait until she’s done with the client in the chair before she gets to my daughters hair. We agreed on the price, and everything was going well, the stylist was so nice and respectful which is why I felt comfortable with my daughter waiting for her. 4 hours later my daughter text me and tells me the owner walked in and is demanding more money for the hairstyle! At this point I’m extremely confused! How can two stylist tell me one price and we agree to it, then the owner comes in and tries too demand more! After a few minutes my daughter texts me never mind she said the original price is okay. 20 minutes later my daughter text me AGAIN and says mommy you have to pick me up, at that point I’m just like okay what the heck is it now! The owner tells me that one of her other stylists had an emergency to pick up her child so she can no longer do my daughters hair! When I get there I see the sweet lady who is supposed to do my daughters hair finishing up the client that my daughter was waiting on, so I asked her what’s the issue, you told me you would do my daughters hair after this client that you’re doing? The poor lady couldn’t even speak she just pointed to the owner and that’s when I realized the type of narcissistic tyrant that is running this place! I explained to the owner this Lady has already agreed to take my daughter next! What’s the problem? The owner replies, my other stylist had an emergency so I’m short staffed. I tell her I understand, but that wasn’t the stylist that was responsible for my daughters hair, the stylist my daughter is waiting on is right here and she already agreed to take my daughter next! Her only response was don’t stress me I’m already stressed, no sorry for the inconvenience NOTHING, so I explain to her my daughter is going to school tomorrow if you’re stressed imagine my stress! She had no care or no remorse! As I left the shop I told her I would be posting a negative review! She followed me out to my car and told me to GO TO HELL! I replied to her thank you God bless you and your entire family!

Anyone who follows me knows I don’t not like to post negative reviews on businesses, but this owners actions were beyond repulsive! I’m still in shock that I was cursed out for being upset about how she inconvenienced me! The poor stylists here are so sweet and respectful but they have no voice, and their narcissistic tyrant owner makes them look horrible!

I use to come to Flokays years ago, now I remember why I stopped. She has no set prices for the most common hairstyles. Knotless box braids are different prices for everyone. If she is not here you have to call her to get a price for the style you want. She quotes a different price to everybody. Everywhere else I have gone the price for knotless box braids are standard by the size small medium large and of course its more if you want them extra small. Its very unprofessional the braiders are on their phone take breaks every 10 minuntes talking loud while braiding your hair. Needless to say I will never come back here again. My hair came out nice, they do good work but I just can't deal with the unprofessionalism.

This is the worst experience that have had here. I've been here years prior and received great service. There was a line of women waiting when I arrived. Someone started a sign in sheet to identify who arrived first. At 8:30 one of the customers retrieved keys from somewhere and let us all in. Almost 15 mins later one worker came. I left shortly after 9 because no other workers had arrived. I did not appreciate the lack of respect for my time. I drove almost an hour to get there before 8 and did not get my hair braided. I will not be going back.
