Quick Facts About Jay's Barber Shop

One of the strengths of Jay's Barber Shop is its affordability. Several comments mention that the price is great and that it is a good place to get a haircut due to its excellent pricing. The shop used to charge $10 for haircuts, which many customers found to be a good value for the service provided. Although there was recently a price increase to $13, customers still believe that it is a manageable price.
Another strength is the speed of the haircut service. Customers appreciate that the shop is a classic walk-in barber, allowing them to get their haircuts without having to make appointments. Some reviewers mention that it is always available and that they have experienced a decent and simple haircut at Jay's Barber Shop.
Additionally, the overall experience is mentioned as being decent by a few comments. This suggests that customers generally have a satisfactory time at the shop and have had no major complaints about the service or the environment.
However, there are also several weaknesses that emerge from the comments. The most significant weakness is the inconsistency of the haircuts. One reviewer states that Jay imposed his own views and opinions on their hairstyle, resulting in a cut that was nothing like the picture they showed. This inconsistency is further supported by another comment mentioning poor line-ups at the sides and a different length and styling than requested. The lack of attention to detail and inconsistency in delivering the desired haircut can be seen as a significant weakness for Jay's Barber Shop.
Another weakness is the imposition of Jay's own beliefs on customers' hair. One comment mentions that Jay took more hair off than requested because he believed it would be more manageable. While this may be well-intentioned, it shows a lack of respect for the customer's preferences and desires, resulting in dissatisfaction and a loss of future business.
Furthermore, a negative experience mentioned by a customer highlights a lack of attention to detail and a failure to check the haircut thoroughly before charging the customer. The fact that the customer discovered a bald spot on the back of their head after leaving the shop suggests a lack of professionalism and careful execution of the service.
In conclusion, while Jay's Barber Shop has strengths such as affordability and speed, its weaknesses primarily revolve around inconsistency in delivering desired haircuts, imposition of personal beliefs on customers' hair, and a lack of attention to detail. These weaknesses significantly impact the overall quality of the service provided and may deter customers from returning.

Inconsistent and imposes his own views/opinions on your hairstyle. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and the end result was nothing like the photo. Different length, styling, and cut altogether with poor line ups at the sides. I’m convinced he forgot the haircut and the plot mid cut and reverted to a standard fade. It was a side part haircut in the photo. With the recent price increase to 13 dollars from 10, the inconsistent and sloppy haircuts, the value is no longer there and I will no longer give him any business.
The price is great and the speed is impressive. Thankful to have a classic walk-in barber around.
Great guy and excellent pricing. It's a great place to get a hair cut.
Always a decent experience
.
Good price and always available ????
Good cuts, good price. Good barber.
Jay imposes his own beliefs on what your hair should look like instead of giving you what you ask for. I asked to buzz the sides and to take 1/3 of an inch off the top and he took at least 2 inches off the top "because it's more manageable that way." I mean this in the nicest way possible Jay but I did not ask for your opinion on what my hair should look like and I will not be doing business with you in the future
Great for a simple hair cut if you know what you want. No frills keep it affordable and quick. Was $10 for years but now a still manageable $13. Takes cards except Amex.
I went here because my regular guy around the block was really busy and this place was empty. I just wanted a little trim and he took awhile and then said he was done and charged me without showing me the back of my head. I should have asked to see the back before I left, my bad. I gave him $20 and left. When I got home and looked, the guy had straight up shaved a bald spot in the back of my head. I understand that I’m in the time of my life when hair begins to thin, but I swear this was something I had never seen before. It’s grown back, it’s just hair, but that was one of the only truly horrible cuts I’ve ever gotten.
