Quick Facts About Kona Makai Nail Spa, LLC
Strengths:
1. Best price and nail service in the area according to one customer's opinion.
2. Friendly and nice staff who remember customers' faces and names.
3. Long-lasting manicures and the ability to create both creative and traditional looks.
4. Good prices and a clean salon.
5. Some customers have had positive experiences with their nails, describing them as smooth and pretty.
Weaknesses:
1. Inconsistent service and quality. One customer's experience was poor, with a rushed and subpar acrylic set that had missed spots, uneven nails, and a different color than what was chosen. The paint job was also described as awful.
2. Understaffing issues, leading to long wait times and rushed services.
3. Pedicures have also had issues, with one customer experiencing polish coming off her toes soon after leaving the salon.
4. Lack of attention to detail and proper execution. One customer had their nails filed after the clear coat was applied, leading to chipped polish. Another customer received poorly executed nail art with crooked shapes and uneven coverage.
5. Complaints about nails popping off and chipping after a short period of time, suggesting potential issues with nail preparation or application techniques.
6. Poor customer service in some instances, such as when a customer flinched during the fill process and the technician giggled. Another customer was denied repairs for nails that popped off shortly after being redone, with the salon insisting on charging for a full set again. This shows a lack of accountability for their mistakes and an unwillingness to fix the issue without additional cost to the customer.
7. Inconsistent experiences among different customers, with some praising the salon while others vow never to return.
Based on the comments provided, it is evident that Kona Makai Nail Spa, LLC has both strengths and weaknesses. While they may offer competitive prices and have friendly staff, their services appear to be inconsistent in terms of quality, attention to detail, and overall customer satisfaction. The salon also seems to struggle with understaffing issues, resulting in increased wait times and rushed services. These weaknesses can lead to negative experiences for customers, including chipped polish, uneven nails, and nails popping off shortly after being done. Overall, it is recommended to proceed with caution when choosing to visit Kona Makai Nail Spa, LLC, as it may not consistently meet customers' expectations.
Best TL Reviews
Best price and nail service in Mac in my opinion. Better than Mac nails for sure. I got my Christmas set done here last week and it wasn't exactly what I wanted but they're still really cute and functional. They're also really nice here and super cute ladies. Definitely recommend.
I called 2 hours in advance and they said we could come at 4:30. We had to wait almost an hour after we got there, which wasn’t a huge deal because apparently a technician didn’t show up for work. When I finally got seated for my acrylic set, I had my color picked out and asked for short, rounded nails. The lady seemed very rushed and raced through the process. When I went to wash my hands, she changed the color I picked without asking, and I ended up with a very brown color as compared to the dark red I chose. When the set was done, I noticed she missed multiple spots on my nails with the filing, the nails were uneven, and the paint job itself was awful. Probably the worst set I’ve gotten. The staff were nice but clearly understaffed and rushing. The pedicure was slightly better, but my mom had to wait awhile with her feet in the water, and the polish started coming off of her toes on our way home.
Pictures are right after appointment. Overall, wrong shape, color and execution
These ladies are so friendly and nice to visit with. They remember faces, names and ask for updates on your life’s events if you share them. They do beautiful manicures that last! I get Dip powder and it can last up to four weeks and I am hard on my hands and nails. They can help you get creative if you want a little pep in your look (try ombré with diff colors!) or perfect traditional looks, depending on what you are in the mood for. Sometimes I bring in a photo of nails I want and they never disappoint. Their prices are good and they are very clean. Their regulars keep them busy, but I have never had trouble getting an appt with a little notice. I’ve been going here for years. I haven’t gone anywhere else since I first went here. Thank you, Ladies!
Worst salon I've ever been too will never go back there First time I had a nail tech file my nails after the clear coat was put on. Which is probably why my polish is chipping 48 hrs. after they were done. Not to mention the pain I was put in through the fill process. When I actually flinched she felt the need to giggle. I provided my own nail art pack. The reindeer is upside down and my 5yrs old granddaughter could paint a better B Horrible place save your money.
I was a nail tech for 12 years so I'm aware of what a good job is. My daughter had her nails done here multiple times before we gave up.
More often than not her acrylic nails would pop off and the color would chip within a day or so.. The final straw was one nail pop off within the first week. We took her back they re-did the nail. 3 days later two more nails popped off. We took her back and they refused to repair them and insisted that they would only do a full set and charges again for their mistake. They claim that my daughter's nails just grew so fast that they needed to be redone in a week and a half! I know that's not true, because I used to do this for a living.
The reason this usually happens is that the nails were not prepared properly or they were touched by the tech and the natural oils from their skin got on the customer's nails.
We have now been to every nail salon in McMinnville until we have found that the best nail place around. Christy's was the worst, this place was the second worst. The other nail places in town were pretty good, but if you're into nail art the best place to go is Garden Nails.
Garden Nails is the best. The nails would have to grow out and you'd have to cut them off before they'd ever fall off. The nail art is always 100%.
You can take all our footwork and waste your time finding out who the best in town. I've already done it, so save your time and money and go to Garden Nails.
Made an appointment for 5pm to get a pedicure. Showed up on time. They told me I had to wait. Then proceeded to have me sit in the pedicure water for 30+ minutes before someone came to do my pedicure. Worst experience. Never coming here again.
smoothest, and prettiest nails i’ve ever had. Best nail place i have been too in a long time. I love my nails!!!
They are crooked and there is not acrylic cover the whole nails, on either mine or my sisters set. The shapes aren’t right and uneven. I asked for the color to be painted fully on the nail and she didn’t fix it like I asked. I won’t ever go back. Waste of time and money.
