There were a few boats in the harbor fishing. It was a great place to collect rocks and driftwood. There is a boardwalk and a nice beach area. You have to walk a pier/break wall to reach the lighthouse. It's worth the walk. It is very pretty. Their were a couple of porta bathrooms on the premises also. It was very peaceful and beautiful. Check this place out. I hope you find it as wonderful as we do.
Absolutely beautiful! The lake views are incredible, the light house is gorgeous.
Manistique is a gorgeous little town on lake MI. The boardwalk is about 5 miles long (I believe). Scenery is beautiful. If you get the chance to visit, definitely take a stroll on the board:)
Gorgeous scenery, only downside is that some of the pathways were ripped up for repairs. I'm sure it will be really nice when the repairs are done.
There's something special about Lake Michigan sunsets, no matter how far north you are.
The Manistique DDA had developed this boardwalk with taxpayer funds. It runs approximately 2 miles and consists of concrete walkways and a wooden boardwalk. It's a very nice, scenic walk and provides many opportunities for photos. Unfortunately due to lake erosion, several areas of concrete had fallen and those areas were blocked off.
The Manistique Boardwalk is definitely one of our top attractions. I love it and I'm a local. I've taken SO many beautiful pictures here, and experienced great memories. Just please stop swimming at this spot. There are rip currents in this area; locals know this, but I'm telling you, too. People end up in the ER from nearly drowning at this spot.
If you want to swim, go to Rogers Park. It's safer and there are bathrooms and clean water to fill up water bottles.
Very pretty. Great walk. The pier is bigger than expected.
