Quick Facts About Zeb's Seafood & Chicken

Zeb's Seafood & Chicken place has experienced a decline in recent years, resulting in a number of weaknesses that have impacted its reputation and customer experience. One significant weakness is the increase in prices, as mentioned by several customers. Higher prices can deter customers who are looking for value for their money, especially if the portion sizes are smaller, as another comment suggests. This suggests that Zeb's may not be offering competitive prices compared to other similar establishments in the area.
Additionally, the decision to switch to cash-only payments and close the dining room can be seen as a weakness. While this may have been a measure to save costs, it can inconvenience customers who prefer to pay with credit cards or who enjoy dining in. Closing the dining room due to short staffing can also contribute to a negative customer experience, as it limits options for enjoying the food within the restaurant.
The negative signs and restrictions mentioned in one customer's comment reflect a lack of a customer-centered approach and can create a negative atmosphere in the establishment. Instead of focusing on what customers can do or enjoy, the signs emphasize limitations and rules. This can diminish the overall dining experience and make customers feel unwelcome or restricted.
Another weakness highlighted by customers is the inconsistency in food quality. While some appreciate the top-quality fish and trimmings, others mention issues with saltiness, cold fries, and small portions. Inconsistent food quality can impact customer satisfaction and loyalty, as customers may not feel confident in the value and taste of their meals.
Furthermore, there are several comments regarding poor customer service. One customer mentioned being served later than others who had called in their orders. Another customer expressed disappointment with the lack of communication regarding the cash-only policy and the rudeness of the staff. These incidents indicate a lack of effective communication and attentive service, which can greatly impact the overall customer experience.
On the other hand, there are a few strengths to note about Zeb's Seafood & Chicken place. A positive aspect mentioned by some customers is the decor, which is described as cool and enjoyable. This can contribute to a pleasant dining atmosphere and create a unique experience for customers. Additionally, the hush puppies are mentioned by multiple customers as a standout item on the menu, reflecting a strength in terms of taste and quality.
It is worth noting that one customer expressed appreciation for the gesture of not charging them the correct amount when they realized they had underpaid. While this specific incident may be seen as a positive example of customer service, it is important to consider that this comment reflects an isolated incident and should not be regarded as the norm.
In conclusion, Zeb's Seafood & Chicken place has experienced several weaknesses that have contributed to its decline. These include higher prices, smaller portions, the switch to cash-only payments and closure of the dining room, negative signs and restrictions, inconsistent food quality, and poor customer service. However, there are some strengths to acknowledge, including the decor and standout items like the hush puppies. To improve and regain customers' trust, Zeb's should reconsider its business model, enhance its customer-centered approach, address inconsistencies in food quality, and prioritize effective communication and attentive service.

Best TL Reviews

This place has been in steady decline over the last couple of years. Higher prices, smaller portions and as another money saving idea, they have switched to cash only and closed the dining room. Be prepared to wait as a usual day only has 3-4 people working. Dixie Wings in Smiths Station only a couple of miles away is a much better option. 12/06/22 UPDATE: Zebs has finally shut down.
Went here today for the first time in several months. We have enjoyed eating here for many years because the food was always good and fresh and the place is always clean. It was always a bit on the pricey side but the quality was there. However, since Covid, the place has really changed and not for the best.
First, there is a now a strange vibe with all the signs telling you what you *can't* do, like "no credit cards", "no drinks on the cedar", "restrooms closed ", "dining room closed due to short staffing ", "do not sit in this section", etc. The entry doors are literally covered with negativity. I don't know, maybe tell me what you CAN do???
We ordered spicy chicken breast fillets and they upcharged an extra $1.20! Just to make them spicy? The tenders were hot and fresh but were very salty. The tea was always, I mean always, very good but today it was basically sugar water.
I really want Zebs to do well again and if they'd get back to being customer centered and stop with the negativity they may stand a chance. Probably going to scratch Zebs off the list until they rethink their business model......
Cant even give it a 1. Paid $9 for fries basically. Sandwich meal was thrown away. Not our cup of tea. Had to give it a 1 star in order to rate.
I love the decor and most of all the fish and trimmings are top quality for your bucks.
Loved the decorations really cool food was awesome especially the hush puppies. I won't eat them anywhere else.
I went in to place an order and people that had called in their order that came in after I did was served first while I had to wait. Their prices for catfish were high, very high so I ended up getting a fish plate called whiting which was also high but not as high as the catfish. I lived two blocks from this place and when I got home the fries and hush puppies were cold, besides being cold the hushpuppies were very small and only got two with my meal. I was very disappointed with the food and service I received and the next time I want seafood I will go to Captain D's. Their prices versus the food and service was price gouging at its best. I thought Zebs was a respectable restaurant but this one in general wasn't and I hope this was just a bad night for them and not the norm but I may never know because I will think twice before going back to this individual location.
Could have told me on the phone you only took cash. Once I arrived to get my family's dinner, they were rude about it and just pointed at an atm which charged a fee of course.. they never apologized, and the customer service just wasnt there! I should have just left. Will not return, and do not recommend. Please work on your attitudes towards customers, we are how you stay in business after all.
Went to Zebs , take out only right now .I paid for my order and it was $11.49...
I mistakenly thought I gave the young lady 12 dollars....she asked if I had. 49 cent I said no ...no change sorry ....so she says no probs ...a few minutes go by and I realize she may been asking for the correct amount I owed...so I ask...sure enough I only gave her 11 dollars ...offered to pay the rest and she would not have it....said it was on her ...I was embarrassed cause I did have the cash ....however it shows the kinda people they are ....and the food is wonderful .....Thanks Zebs
